You remember that Xbox PDF leak last year?

Looks like it's all coming true with the news of the slogan at E3.

Yep. Looks like MS will be putting a lot behind their dumb Glass knockoff.
I wonder if the privacy backlash against Glass will make them reconsider their strategy.

2014 Xbox Live services:

"Real-time information on people, places, and objects."

After the recent news, Is that for the government or for consumers?

I think i remember hearing sometime soon after the February event that Sony was quoted as saying their goal was to be input 2 on your television. Does anyone else remember that and have a link? Pretty interesting coincidence.

It makes total sense now. They stuck with the plan they made 3 or more years ago without changing course based on real life. They're blindly moving forward with zero barometers sensing the changing winds and the heavy consumer resistance.

$299 price point would be interesting to say the least.

In 2013 they mention games, then the following years there is nothing. Nice future.
That is why they plan on introducing Fortaleza and cloud to "energize" the market in the following years, just like Kinect.

After that they will introduce Cloud streaming (Gaikai) so you can game on every device.

Wow. Definite leak given the banner at E3.

Super lame. All of it. The more I learn about Xbox One, the more it feels like the console Microsoft really wanted to make all along, but realized that it couldn't going the WebTV route.

Xbox and Xbox 360 weren't only loss leaders to pay for market share, they were *fun* leaders as well, it seems. :-(

I've got to be quite honest--the "plans" for 2014 and beyond sound horribly boring.

I promised some peeps I'd delete that shit after I saw it, and I stuck to my word. So I no longer have the full thing, but i really would like to take another look at it. It's true, pretty much everything came true, including the specs, focus, direction etc.

How can something that was likely discussed in 2008/09 and then leaked in 2010 be considered a Glass knock-off?

I'm intrigued by the 2015 features. It seems "Xbox" will become more of a service and less of a hardware platform. I wonder if Halo 5 will work natively with PC hardware, or will it need to be streamed through the cloud.

Sony owns Gaikai, so you must mean something else.

I worked for AT&T, Uverse specifically as tech support 3 years ago and was told everything here over the phone by another AT&T rep and I thought it was a joke :lol

fwiw, Paul Thurrott said MS initially planned to have $299 subsidized/$499 unsubsidized; now he says the subsidy idea has been scrapped and that it will be $499, one sku.

I was obviously joking earlier in the thread about the Xbox Live services/watching stuff, but I'd have to think they'll be backing off that advertising point now.

This PDF is a big reason I laugh when people say $499, the other reason being the hardware itself.

Coming off the longest generation ever, the Xbox One represents the second smallest leap from its predecessor ever (first is the Wii). Everything about it (and most things about the PS4) screams "we want to keep costs really low and hit a low entry price". Now whether that price is $300, $350 or $400 remains to be seen. Wont go higher.

You know.... I can see $299.... they take the hit on the box and aim solely for market pentration and make the money back on subs and due to the restrictions they should still make money off anyone who buys the box very quickly.

That worries me.

If its $300 (£200) I think I am sold. At that point, I don't care about DRM
sorry guys
EDIT: I have to add without any subscription!

Also, Mirrors Edge 2. Woot!

....

If PS4 is around that ballpoint, then I may have to get the PS4 instead.
