Yes, the reason is the same jrpg often feature teenagers rather than adults, these kind of games are aimed at young men (mostly) and it's easier for them to self-insert and relate to teenagers and high schoolers.

It has nothing to do with it being more boring, especially because videogame high-school simulators are hardly a decent representation of real life. (pro-tip: the average Japanese girl doesn't look like your kawai persona waifu. And there are no harems. And you study.)

I used to want a Persona game with a university setting. After playing Catherine, I think the team is better off depicting teenagers.

Yeah, if Catherine is anything to go by, then perhaps writing for adult characters isn't Atlus' strong suit. Though a Persona: College Years game would make me swoon if it had solid writing.

If Persona 5 is a PS3 game, then excellent -- one last RPG before the next-gen takes over.

If Persona 5 is for PS4 (or multiplat), then I found the first game to get with my PS4.

If Persona 5 is for Vita or 3DS, awesome.

P3 cast is just way much better and cooler compared to P4 imo. I mean just look at them

I can understand why someone new to the genre might be weirded out by them but they're good games you should try them.

yeah, i question their fixation about guns too. but i know guns is an integral part of their society because they freed themselves from the brits, the second amendment and when they used them to subdue their slaves and indians etc. but i don't see why high schoolers is a 'important' part of japan's society.
