-I think I'd take out the ordnance stuff. I enjoyed Reach and Halo 3's MP far more than 4's.

-More smaller maps.

-Firefight. Spartan Ops was a poor experiment and a lousy replacement for such an awesome mode. Bring back the voices and all that good shit.

-A better story, plain and simple. At the end of Halo 4 I felt like I had accomplished nothing.

Remove all the bullshit Reach and 4 added. They can bring back the grenade launcher though.

  • Remove Armor Abilities (if anything limit special power type abilities; Halo 3 equipment was better in that regard).
  • Place weapons on the map with timers.
  • Remove weapon icons if they're not going to be accurate.
  • Bring back secondary weapon HUD indicator.
  • Weapons that don't disappear from the map 12 seconds after being dropped.
  • Bring back actual Halo sound effects.
  • UI, GUI that are consistent and not carried over from Reach.
  • Hold a Multiplayer Beta.
  • Bring back Firefight.
  • Ditch Spartan Ops.
  • Bring back Saved Films for Campaign and Firefight.
  • Have full fileshare support from day one.
  • Improve Forge instead of downgrading it.
  • Split playlists between Ranked and Social.
  • Bring back all missing classic game types such as Assault, Neutral Flag, Juggernaut, Race, Territories, etc.
  • Limit the amount of large maps and focus on creating small to mid arena style maps.
  • Limit the amount of asymmetric maps.
  • Actually listen to the community and admit when you're wrong.

1. 1-100 ranking system in game.
2. Forge like no one has ever seen before!(Far Cry editor)
3. No jet pack or active camo. New system of AA that don't break the gameplay. Bringing Radar Jammer as a AA, EMP blast: it knocks off near by enemy AA, and Ghost Radar Jammer: turns off your Radar but your enemy won't see you on their radar as well. Just a better system of AA that's all I'm asking..
4. Bringing a drifting bullets system for far distance weapons. I'm so sick of people camping! Halo is about good fun competitive game play. Not camping in high points to get kills.. Mid-Short range combat is the best!
5. Fire fight! Please bring it back! Spartan ops did not get that itch I was wanting.
6. Bigger campaign environments! Please make me feel like I'm in Halo CE all over again! Everyone loves exploring!
7. Easter eggs!
8. Better music pleae! Halo 4 music was okay but I want that Halo feel...
9. No Bultshot please -.-....
10. Make Halo 5 to be Halo 5. Don't make it like Halo 1/2/3/4/R but have the weapons similar to what you guys have it now!

- Work with people from the competitive community to create amazing and skillful gametypes that launch with the game.
- Have playlists for popular gametypes/maps/etc from the community.
- Large scale battles (up to 128 players).
- Maps with buttons and stuff that can be activated to alter the map or cause an event.
- A map/gametype similar to Sandtrap, but with giant warships (Super Invasion!). Instead of Ordnance, have an Armoury where you can redeem points for weapons and shit and customise their weapons and shit. Also, have a Commander that pilots the ship and does stuff like activate the turrets and closing doors and shit. Also squads.
- Gametypes with tiers (like Invasion).
- Good easter eggs.
- Pretty water.
- Let us see our health (like in Reach, even if we won't need to in most gametypes).
- Good UI (more like Reach, less like 4).
- Ability to customise vehicle weapons (Flamethrower Hornet, Shotgun Hog, Chain gun Ghost, etc).
I'll edit this post with more stuff if I can think of it.

A decent script. Don't make bullshit excuses as to why the opposing faction whose conflict was resolved in the prequel suddenly appear out of nowhere and start shooting at us for plot and gameplay contrivance.

Which brings me to my next point: design better enemies. The new ones were boring as hell and the stupid dog like enemy felt so out of place and stupid that it breaks the suspension of disbelief .

Better AI please.

And don't focus test alien weapons to hell. That was one of the better things about Halo compared to other shooters at the time. Don't give me a goddamn shotgun with a laser skin.

I've said this before but it needs repeating: Better writing. The whole Chief/Cortana relationship was laughable. In fact, the characterisation in general is poor.

  • The Falcon and/or Hornet as a human counterpart to the Banshee
  • The Locust as a Covenant counterpart to the Mantis
  • The DMR to be made a power weapon and removed as a spawning weapon (BR:DMR as AR:SAW)
  • No Armor Abilities or PERKS (they're PERKS, 343, it doesn't matter what you try to call them) in loadouts.
  • The return of and improvement of Invasion
  • Asymmetrical objective gametypes
  • Lameduck round detection to prevent shitty round-based matches
  • Ability to see K/D R, Win %, and Truskill value on a player's service record, in game, immediately upon hovering over their name as opposed to only online or in eight or nine layers of the UI
  • Return of the Active Roster

Dedicated servers and 60 FPS are all I wanted, but I want the Mantis Mech to make a triumphant return! I loved piloting the mech on the blood gulch type map, I am unbeatable with it!
 
Make the protheans interesting to fight. They had that initial surprise (which they kind of spoiled at the game's unveiling), mostly with the resurrecting dudes throwing grenades back at you. But I by the end it was just busywork fighting them, not the combat puzzle the Covenant can be.

Bring back firefight.

A story that doesn't require that I read all the books to know what the hell is going on. Seriously, the stories are all so damn dumb in the games.

60fps has been guaranteed, but has 1080p? Game needs to be 1080p/60.

Keep sprint as default and make it unlimited, while getting rid of all armor abilities.

Don't build a boss up throughout a game and have the showdown be a fuckin one time QTE. Didact looked like a giant fucking pussy.

The most disappointing thing for Halo 4 is the lack of MLG mode forever. The best thing about Halo 3 was its MLG mode which is still to this day the most strategic team oriented and skilled shooter out there. The map designs were amazing with strategy and timing the power ups. Halo 4 was a disaster for competitive gaming. Its hardcore mode barely had any maps, and nearly had any of the settings Halo 3 MLG had.

Halo 5 needs to correct this to bring back its glory and what Halo is most known for: competitive goldeneye like gaming.

  • I liked the changes in MP, but I am glad that H3 style of gameplay is being reintroduced. Let's have both from the beginning for the next iteration.
  • An MMO feel to Spartan Ops.
  • 1080p/60fps
  • More enemy design variety. Hunters aka Titan/Hulk like enemies, bigger the better for a change of pace.
  • Epic vehicle section.
  • An epic final boss fight that is also fun to play.
  • Dedicated servers.
  • Spectator mode.
  • Easier to create/share forge.

- Better music integration and audio features. Maybe add more classic tracks. Chanting monks are a must as is warthog run music somewhere in the game. New composer Jinnouchi seems promising.

- Embrace decade long canon and lore, not try to change for sake of change. Armors, characters, logos, ships etc.

- Must have on map weapons only, static spawns, set loadouts, no sprint, no flinch, grenade pickup, no armor abilities, ranked gameplay available in some form, possibly as main version of gameplay.

- firefight must return. I don't want to play crappy, laggy Spartan Ops, but firefight. Maybe a 3.0 version can combine Dominion as well. Sort of make it tower defense at points. Rebuild buildings, get stronger drops, shields etc. Real nail hiring action.

- legacy features must return. Day one file share, file search, online browsing, campaign scoring, campaign theater.

- Forge Galaxy, new and improved forge experience. Massive building allowed on variety of locales. Forerunner, Human, Covenant, unknown. Different textures and locales aka Sand, Snow, Grass, Jungle, Building etc. Have variety of skyboxes developed, along with variety of set pieces. Forerunner items, human items, covenant items. Covenant version could be space based station ala Corvette from Reach etc. Maybe separate multiplayer and single player on discs so that space isn't an issue.

- much cleaner UI. Prefer mixture of Reach with Halo 3. Much more information displayed about other player ability ie. K/D ratio, accuracy, win/loss, ranks for playlists. Also have monks chanting in menu. This is a must Frank.

- at least 8+ new on disc maps made for the game, with at least 6 legacy/remake maps. Midship, Pit, whatever.

Make it happen Frank and 343. And don't skimp out on the armors, and logos. And quit paywalling shit or giving those people who buy chips and dew a way to get an advantage.

Basically leave everything introduced in Halo 4 behind or as second tier. Forget instant Respawn, forget perks, loadouts, armor abilities, personal ordnance.

Edit: fuck forgot the campaign. I prefer a mix of Halo 3 and CE type campaign. But wouldn't mind an ODST style hub. Maybe make Infinity a hub we return to or something like Mass Effect. I don't know. And please understand, fuck Sarah Palmer, she's a shitty character. Bring back Spartan-II's and stop with the Halsey hate.

Well, what I want and what the average Halo player wants are probably very different things.

SP: Take the ideas in ODST and expand on them. Halo worked surprisingly well as a semi-open world, although a big part of that was the presentation and atmosphere. I want big environments with lots of AI enemies and friendlies running around, use that next-gen horsepower and put Halo 3's biggest battles to shame.

Also, if there are gonna be prometheans, holy hell can you please make them fun to fight? And make their guns less painfully boring? The last 1/4 of Halo 4 was almost unbearable.

MP: I never touched Halo 4's multiplayer because fuck all that leveling and perk nonsense. Do what Reach did, and bring back Firefight except make it actually challenging rather than 15 minutes of boredom. Also, Invasion was awesome and probably the only time I ever really had fun with Halo versus multiplayer. Even if it only had two goddamn maps.

I really just want Halo to return to its roots and feel unique again. Following industry trends may make it feel different from other Halo games, but not other shooters in an already over-crowded genre.

- More open level design like "Halo" or "Mombasa Streets" where I can explore and strategize instead of following waypoints through corridors.
- I haven't seen a Scarab since 2007. Where did the great vehicle-based missions I played in Halo 3 go?
- The trend of poor boss fights needs to change.
- Stop spoiling so much. The novels gave away the "ancient evil" and E3 had a better Promethean intro than the final game.
- Have a story that makes sense w/o a reading requirement.
- Bring back more characters we're familiar with like the Arbiter instead of forcing new ones on us like Sarah Palmer.
- No more QTEs please. More game, less interactive-movie.
- Bring back that 80s sci-fi feel that Halo 1 had, and felt missing from the sequels.
- Don't make us go to Waypoint again to watch the Terminals we find.
- Stop following FPS trends. Sprint, perks, and killstreaks don't make Halo unique if they're in every other FPS on the market.
- Bring back the small-map, team-focused, competitive arena shooter that I and so many others fell in love with.
- Achievements don't belong in competitive multiplayer. Use them to get me to replay the campaign again in different ways. (i.e. Vidmasters)
- Server browser > playlists. Gives me more control over what I play so I don't have to sit through modes or maps I don't like.
- Spartan-Ops got repetitive quick and lacked replay-ability. I'd rather have Firefight back.
- Better custom game options.
- Theater finally needs a proper rewind feature, and regain campaign support.
- The UI needs to return to its Reach form.
- Forge needs to evolve into something besides a simple map editor with pieces.
