The power button sound is supposed to be from one of the songs on the OST. The eject is a promethean sound I think.
They're both hilariously annoying and ironically not Halo sounding at all.
OT: I remember when the Xbox was a box and not a refrigerator. What's with this design?

You speak the truth, neither of those sound effects say Halo to me.
It would be cool if eject was the Halo shield charging sound.
Power could be the Halo 2 loading screen sound.
I think I understand why they took the beeping / sound effects out of the 360 "E"

It was the most obvious choice, but it's good that they've gotten rid of sounds entirely. That would be even creepier going into next gen with Kinect being on the console. Just imagine the ghost stories...

Yeah I saw the HDD slot, just wasn't 100% sure it was the exact same as the old Slims hard drive cases and whether the 4GB model had that slot.
So does the 4GB have something in there or is it just empty? Do you then have 2 devices, 4GB internal and 250GB hard drive? Does that make it annoying when saving games / loading games and prompted which hard drive to use?

Same hard drives as the Slim.
The hard drive bay in the 4GB version is empty. Just pop you slim hard drive in.
There will be 2 devices + the cloud. The bigger hard drive is the default location, 4gb partition won't get in the way when prompted.
Is there something wrong with your Slim?
The S and the E are the same size.
This will sound completely superficial but my S has a couple of scuff marks on the front, I hate the touch buttons, it's louder, and I think the E is super sexy. Is it worth $200? Not really, I would wait for $150 most likely.
If you don't mind answering my edit on my last post, it would be MUCH appreciated.

He could move up to 512mb of data to the cloud- but he'd have to do it manually as the Xbox 360's Data Transfer Tool requires the destination to have enough storage for everything on the hard drive to do the automatic option. If he has the 20GB Xbox, a USB thumb drive would be OK- anything higher and he'd probably want to buy the transfer cable. Also, some games will not copy to the cloud such as Dark Souls.
You need the Hard Drive Transfer Kit or a 16 or 32 gb USB thumb stick.
Ah ok. I think a 16gig would be fine, as my HDD was only 20gigs anyway and I think about 8 are system updates and such.
Seriously, I started out with a 20gig hard drive and now I think after all these updates it only actually has 10gigs of space.

It's empty but you have 2 devices when saving/loading to choose from.
Not really annoying since you can name the devices and give the HDD one so it is listed first and you only have to press A and the HDD is selected without scrolling through the list.

That's news to me. I was worried I'd have to spend money on something I would only ever use once. I have the original model 360, so a 32GB flash drive would definitely work, right?
And what's the difference between the box contents of the 4GB and 250GB? I was going to just get the 4GB and a big hard drive, but was wondering if there was anything else with the 250GB that the 4GB doesn't have.

^Yup, they updated the firmware late last year to support 32GB USB sticks. That's the maximum size supported.
^The 250GB version includes a headset. The 4GB version doesn't.
They both come with standard def AV cables.
They both include 1 month of Gold.
The new E console doesn't support optical audio OR component cables.
The S supports both those things.
Both consoles are the 98% same size.
The E is a tiny bit quieter than the S, but they are both infinitely more quiet than the original Xbox 360's jet engines.

Sounds like an argument in favor of the S. Not that I care about optical out since I currently use an adapter to connect the red and whites to the green jack on my speaker system. But if I did ever get a good headset, would the audio be bad compared to hearing it through optical out which I have never heard?
