Anyone in here see Kaze Tachinu yet? Thoughts? I realize it's still a few days from release, but it must at least have some reviews. Anyone with the ability to read Japanese mind spreading some enlightenment?

Step 1 (buy the game) complete! Step 2 is the whole learning Japanese thing, which shouldn't take more than a few hours.

I'm on episode 8 of Eva now and it's pretty cool so far, but I haven't really formed an opinion yet. One thing that's sort of grating on me is the "fanservice" I guess, even if a lot of it isn't blatantly shown. Also, the generally creepy attitude coming from most of the men on the show toward the women. At least in the first couple episodes of Gurren Lagann that I watched, the fanservice seemed organic to the show since it seemed to be going over the top in every way so that it was sort of tongue-in-cheek. In Eva, the fairly low tone and realistic interactions make the fanservice/creeping moments stand out as particularly deserving of a facepalm.

Heartcatch Precure - 6

I'll admit, I wasn't expecting the episode to go that route. I thought it was going to be the traditional "respect each other" story with the photos, but they also went and added a little something else to it that benefited Kanae as well by telling her to put more love into her pictures.

I think the problem I had with this series before was the fact that I was watching too many shows with deep epic narratives at the same time and it didn't feel good in comparison.

Now that I'm watching School Days, which is a calm-slice of life kind of show (at least right now it is, I'm on episode 4 and have no idea where it's going to go next) watching this feels more relaxing. I have to say, I like the more quiet moments that just talk about life related things instead of the Precure battles. Maybe if I focus on that then I'll be taken by surprise if the story ends up taking a dark turn somewhere down the line.

But anyway as for this episode, we got the return of what's-her-name villain from the first episode, we got another girl who I think may end up becoming the next Precure if she goes down the right path, and that big fairy thing remains as creepy as ever. Got nothing to say, except that I hope Luke Fon Fabre makes his return soon.

Watamote 2

I really like the animation when Tomoko got
into a panic attack over socializing with fellow students. Also when Tomoko met Yuu and the shock look on her face was priceless.
This episode is not better than the first but still good.

I hope fantasy Tomoko shows up some more throughout the show.

Gifu Dodo!! Kanetsugu & Keiji 3

Ugly as ever (if not moreso) but the burgeoning bromance will not be denied.
Beginning of the duel towards the end looked better than what the show normally had to offer, overachieving in that respect. Still went to shit before long though.

I normally do but I just thought she was a little too much at first. I liked that she had something to do later on in the first season. and I gradually warmed up to her.

Thanks

Yeah, I feel that Kaname's character suffers in the series when she's stuck with nothing to do. Mao and Tessa both have combat jobs and take part in a lot of the action, but Kaname doesn't. The flipside is that that's at least partially intentional in universe. During Sigma
Sousuke decides he'd really rather she didn't wind up like him, guns ablazing and stuff.

Corvo finally got to the halfway point in AO. It really begins now. Has he seen the movie? He really should.

So I guess before advancing Astral Ocean I need to see the OVA and Pocket Full of Rainbows?

Unless you're already used to Umakoshi through other works

Which I'm not. A friend of mine in Brazil was astonished to learn that I'd never seen a single episode of Saint Seiya.

But Corvo says they're the same!

I fought Jeremiah last night in SRWZ2. It was literally all I could think about. When Roger Smith shows up I don't know what I'll do.

I will say that watching the movie is relevant to AO in a way.

They're finally doing the card-unlock event for Kanna's last card in YomeColle, a year and a half after the anime.

iVApedmDOc8Xf.PNG

I'd make a joke about the card art turning out to be her crying face, but the card name is "Revolution...?" so it doesn't sound much like it'll involve tears.
This still leaves Remon with her locked card, but I'd guess if they're doing Kanna now, Remon will probably follow. (Ichika and Mio got theirs already,)

I don't know what this means but KannaKanna da bes.

Huh, there's some other stuff with subs on Netflix too. Guess I should pay better attention to this as a viewing option.

Trigun
Black Butler
Girls Bravo
D. Gray-man
Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple
Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne
Baka and Test
Sekirei
Hero Tales
Eden of the East
Initial D
FMA: Brotherhood
Hetalia

How lttp am I on this? Last time I looked last year most stuff was dub only without an option.

Inu to Hasami 3

Awwwww, what a nice imouto. She loves her big bro so much she
somehow managed to find him after he was reincarnated as a dog
! Now if only she wasn't so depressingly not-cute.

Editor-san is just terrifying. But entertaining I guess.

Idol-san is did you literally just repeat a significant length of footage from the last time she appeared? I'm pretty sure they did, you know. Oh well can't complain she's pretty SHINING after all. I think she may actually be best girl, though largely due to lack of competition.

Oh no, wait, there was a cute loli in this episode. Sorry, Idol-san, you don't get to be best girl, best girl is Yayoi. Curse you dog anime for making me envy a dog.

Precure Allstars New Stage 2 Kokoro no Tomodachi

GOOD NEWS CURE BLACK AND WHITE FANS, They have lines, and they actually contribute a fair amount of effort.

Cures I'm disappointed in their showings
Splash Star (for lack of lines)
GoGo Team (They barely existed)
Fresh Team (sans Passion)
Suite Precures (sans Beat)
Cure Sunshine
Cure Moonlight (well they both did something, but they did nothing in combat)
Cure Rosetta (she really is showing her defensive abilities only.)

Funny enough everyone I listed also lacked any lines of value, so the ones who spoke is Team Max Heart, Passion, Beat, Blossom, Marine, the Smiles, and the Doki Dokis. That is a pretty big gap. Also notice how I didn't list Shiny Luminous in that list above....

Yeah... that's really embarrassing.

Apparently Tarte really gets around since he's the only one who goes YO DOG WHOSE THE CURES, THESE GUYS! I don't know why Toei is fascinated with him, but I guess he's the only one that doesn't provide the Cures with some power.

We're given a school of fairies to learn about shit, and they remembered Egret, I was shocked really. And then one fairie goes douche and ruins things, and finds a crystal ball later on that becomes his Shadow. PresonaCure! So the plan today? Steal their Henshin devices to defeat them by luring them with an invitation. The Smiles are the first one displayed to get it, and then everyone else (no voices for the rest). The Doki Doki's are contacted by Candy, and thus created the Dream x Happy ship (and them arriving).

Only the Smile's fight when they're confronted by the Shadow, everyone else was defeated already, but they let you see Max Heart suffer WITH VOICING

And then the Dokis appear.

The Little bear responsible for this realizes he was being douchebag and made a friend as a result
. I also like how Shadow basically threw the fairies into the fucking water.
Actually that reminds me, most of the fairies also lack a speaking role. Just Tarte, Candy, Doki's pets, Mepple and Mipple (no Porun though) and... that was it.

MIRACLE LIGHT stuff ahead, everyone is no longer doomed, and Precure fight.

\

Clearly they understand Erika's qualities. Anyway, Cure Black and White actually get really good representation of their capabilities, considering how little they actually did in New Stage 1 was. Despite Bloom and Egret's lack of voicing, they actually did something. Earlier in the movie when the Cures where meeting up,
Setsuna and Ellen met up with each other
and that actually played a role later on since both of them fought side by side and then talked to Little Bear.
Which makes sense considering they were initially enemies
.

And then more fighting, and yatta yatta yatta. It looked cool, Happy and Dream want each other obviously. No super finisher, Echo isn't back (good), and whatnot. Anyway, it's clear this movie shares the same problem as New Stage 1. While it gave lines to Black and White, and some others, it neglected some Cures very hard, some of which contributed little to the situation and/or didn't speak in the slightest. I'm extremely disappointed that both Sunshine and Moonlight did not actually fight or speak,
but they did prevent a giant sunflower from being engulfed with shadows.
. I would've loved to see Sunshine wrecking things. Passion having more of a role than the others makes sense to me, I mean she is the most popular Cure according to the voting system for New Stage 2 (and I wouldn't be surprised if this is how they prioritized things in the movie).

So Heartcatch fans get some love, but on the other hand, they get a cold slap in the face. It's telling that 70 minutes isn't enough for the All Star movies if this is the result of things to be. It doesn't really fix one of the biggest issues with New Stage 1, and arguably it's worse than that considering some did less than Shiny Luminous (What the fuck!). I mean despite that part, it does feel better than the first New Stage because we're not being treated to a little girl wanting everyone dead and being stupid with the budget, but I'm not sure if this breaks the Windows trend for the movies in the slightest. Might as well watch it if you're a fan of the ones who does things, but mainly Max Heart, Original Heartcatchers, Smile and Doki Doki.

I'll try and watch it today, then.

I actually liked E7: Pocketful of Rainbows a.k.a. E7: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers. The romance was good, the story was eh but survivable.

But then again you might watch it and hate it and hate me so don't hate me ;_;
I think you already know, but I like RahXephon too. Don't hate me ;_____;

Its a joy on bluray. Great quality.
regarding the whole thing you mentioned, her mom always came off as very trusting and laid back. It makes sense in context.

Yes, I know, it's not like it came from nowhere, but still Madoka didn't even made a great argument and there are limits even for a trustworthy mom.

It´s a minor thing for me thought, and as you say, it has a context at least, so it can be defended without problems.

Contrary to popular belief, I don't hate people for liking things I don't like. Sure as heck can't wrap my head around it when they like some of the worse stuff, tho.

Who is actually a fan of XIII-2? I mean, unironically?

Been watching Gurren Lagann Lagann Hen and I have the following to say:

UGH. FINE GUYS. I LIKE NIA TEPPELIN NOW. Credit to the show that I like the character I like least so much.

Ughhhhhhhh why do I identify with Tomoko so much.

It's silly really. This isn't like my life at all really.

I'd never get a random phone call from a friend.
