Damn, I thought I read Boards of Canada.
He, didn't know of them but it seems they used that name because they are fans themselves of the NFB.

Argh, why did you do that cajunator? What kind of useless first post of the page you made me do? :-(

Welcome Karen! Her addition to the group increased Shino's yuri tendencies tenfold, and watching Alice feel threatened at the idea that her best gal was about to swoop in and steal Shino's heart was adorable. We also got a flashback of Aya and Yoko, that hinted heavily at the obvious OTP potential between them as well. Covering OTPs on all fronts, I like that!

Just a repost:

(What does this logo even mean??)

I'll probably repost this later "today", but here is the latest episode of the podcast I am on featuring the sexily sensual svelte voice of zeroshiki.
http://thatothersquadcast.podomatic.com/entry/2013-07-23T20_01_14-07_00

Want to hear me ask zeroshiki important questions such as: "Why do Japanese people buy programs at the movies?" and "How do you even buy movie tickets in Japan?" and "What is it like watching anime at 26:40?".

Oh right! Also, a chat that builds on zeroshiki's post about Kaze Tachinu, even if he is unwilling to spoil the end of the movie for me. :(

Please to enjoy!
(If you want to skip the rambling intro, I believe we start talking about the movie at 29 minutes. lol)

Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club Episode 4

Every episode gets better and better and easily had so many good moments that a post would be too long detailing them. The changing scene was probably my favorite non plot moment just for all their outfits and poses (Nagisa Haru best), and that one shot of Rei in the middle of changing, if only. Other minor scene was yet another Nagisa rubbing his head on Haru, its always his voice in these and such that make me rewind plus it is really pleasing.

Did like the aspect of the characters feeling tied down and not free! Rin and Haru is really the main story and feels like it may be even deeper than anyone initially imagined. Would a competition really help that easily, hopefully. Was actually surprised Haru was able to speak back an even challenged Rin to not cry. I hope he wont but it would be something to imagine. I think its time to fasten the seatbelt on this emotional rollercoaster ride.

Hmm, nice stuff. I need to search for some more of their music. Thanks for the link, man.

Huh, NFB is finally embracing its mandate and making their stuff available!
Yeah, they normally make available online free of charge their animated productions in a tolerably short span of time (no more than two years like in this case)... earlier I had the impression that maybe this one being a co-production devised along NHK could affect their usual procedures (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=27319904&postcount=11814).

Thinking about watching Attack on Titan. Is it possible to start from episode 13.5 or should i just start from the beginning?

I think thats not a good idea, as the first 5 episodes are worth experiencing in their full capacity. Then after that I guess one could experience episode 13.5, if they are really that pressed for time. And the recap itself is pretty boring.

I'm not baiting your at all. Is very different from how the manga ends though. Check it out.

Ooookaaay.

Just the record, it's probably worth indicating that description is for the Lodoss War OVA series...right?

Because the TV series is very, very boring and paced terribly, especially towards the end. Not recommended even for folks who enjoyed the OVAs.

I dunno. I watched something labeled "Record of Lodoss War" and it was like, 12 episodes long. Didn't feel badly paced to me. Just a straightforward story about a fantasy dude. There was this sick showdown between Ganondorf and King Hyrule toward the end, and the series finale had Parn rescuing Deedlit from like, a volcano of evil.

I mentioned I have a couple of surprises on my newly created Anime Schedule. Although this one shouldn't really come at much surprise, here is my first new series to watch:

Revolutionary Girl Utena: 01

What the hell kind of school is this? Student Councils with weird, somewhat magical powers, a girl who's trying to become like the prince she met long ago, and weird ritualistic... things. This one will be a ride, no doubt.

I want my sexy women thread back, goddamn!

Wait you mean that's not what this thread is for?

Get your shit together, KyoAni.

Man booty is the devil.

I'm still #TeamAmiSucks on the whole, but I will make an exception for Stars, where her stock rises dramatically.

If she's impure, why is she still wearing white panties?

Let's Play! Suite Precure: 25

Blushing Ellen is adorable.

So out of nowhere, Ellen suddenly has a fear of monsters. Ok.... random character trait contradictory to previous episodes. Otherwise, standard monster of the week fare episode.

#BestEllen

Guys, can you re-quote my failed spoiler-tags? I just can't stand the thought of someone being led to Battle Royale II, and you know, expecting a good time.

BR manga>movie (haven't read the book).

Ewwww! I need reasons! I initially quite liked it, and thought that the eclectic character designs were a pretty clever conceit, if only to easily identity the entire cast.

Though I really didn't care for what they did with Mitsuko, and it gradually just became worse for me. I also got the distinct impression that it was overly-graphic, and it was done, just for the sheer sake of it.

Oh, ok. That's the Lodoss OVA and not the TV series.

The TV series is 27 episodes long...and, despite some initial teasing with Parn and company, mostly focuses on another cast of characters after a while.

This is my happy squee feelgood show of the season to replace Acchi Kocchi.

Episode :chet 3

It's an ok episode. Lots of Lucy being cute.

Just started this. sorta. Been paused on my TV for an hour lol. I need to stop being so ADD.

Well, I watched the movie first and liked it, but that was more based on the concept than anything else. I know the Japanese film industry isn't anything special, but it looking cheap and the lack of characters getting fleshed out disappointed me after how awesome the premise sounded.

Then a friend told me to read the manga. I was reluctant at first since I had "already experienced the story", but I started it anyway. I was blown away pretty quickly. First of all, I absolutely loved the art. Yeah, the gore was a bit much at times, but I thought it worked well in context even if some instances were way over the top.

What were just vehicles for despair in a fucked up plot became characters I actually cared about, as each one got fleshed out a good deal. Can't say that for anyone in the movie, which didn't give enough time for me to really be affected by any of the deaths. The manga was the complete opposite, making me legit depressed when
Shinji
died, especially after being the source of hope for a decently-sized chunk of the story. This also made me truly hate Kiriyama, a character that was only there to look cool and psychotic in the film. Made me conflicted when we actually got some more backstory on him, as well as the other villain, Mitsuko.

With the way it affected me, it ended up being 1 of 4 or so series that I actually gave a 10/10 on mangaupdates. Man, this is making me want to reread it. Need to find my collection for when I move anyway.

When subs get too fabulous.

Rainbow subs can't contain the fabulous level of the show.

She has a talking Arararararagi squirrel! lol

That only she can hear! Oh I guess that's a character trait.

The Haganai live-action movie was finally officially confirmed to be releasing next spring. Sounds like it's going to be a completely original script as opposed to a straight adaptation of any part of the novels.

So viewers won't know how much rage to feel when they first go in!

Saint Seiya Omega Episode 65 – Break the Iron Gate! Halberd of Pegasus and Shield of the Dragon!

Better than usual.
if the antagonist can continue to not be a loli will be an alright development. Pegasus Rolling Crush was epic, best move in awhile

Too too roo!

Pretty interesting so far. A research team consisting of a mad scientist, a costume designer, and an otaku computer hacker? Alright. Mad scientist has apparently figured out something related to time travel. Also those bananas looked nasty. Why would you eat those?

bleh I accidentally fell asleep for like five hours and my whole evening disappeared and I woke up at about the time I usually go to sleep so now I don't know what I'm doing.

Elena Peoples was the most transparently otaku pander character in any BONES show ever. There are way worse problems with E7AO, but the high incidence of kawaii adolescent girls and harem undertones with Ao being the only male pilot certainly detracted from the experience.

But...the girls were the only things that allowed me to derive some measure of enjoyment from it!

work keeps me away from postin' more. that plus dad shutting off the internet at the home at midnight because shit is crazy.

omg somebody knows my suffering. My parents always did this during the time I still lived with them (and still do when I go home to England to visit). Thankfully these days I can get around it to an extent by using the 3G on my iPad, but still. Annoying as fuck.

Cardcaptor Sakura 44

And then an exchange between Mizuki and Toya. "There are no coincidences." "Only necessities", in response to Sakura's usual comment about how he works everywhere.

Is this HITSUZEN and Clamp being all xxxHOLiC before xxxHOLiC?

Thinking about watching Attack on Titan. Is it possible to start from episode 13.5 or should i just start from the beginning?

Starting from the recap is...not a good idea. The pacing may be awkward for a while in the middle there, but a lot of pretty important stuff still happens that the recap doesn't cover very effectively. And the pacing will probably be more bearable if you're blasting through the episodes rather than watching week-to-week anyway.

Revolutionary Girl Utena: 01

It's Ikuhara Symbolism Academy!

It was the only good thing unless you're really in love with Nagisa like cnet is (not faulting you for this).

You forgot Porun. Though to be fair Porun got far too little focus for most of Max Heart.

Even the dolls are :kirbyguy.

That it took them this long to figure out that the creepy circus tent that appeared out of nowhere shouldn't surprise me, but still. :/
