COD Ghost on Wii U official, ported by Treyarch, 5 other Activision titles too

Splinter Cell Blacklist, Rayman Legends, Batman: Arkham Origins, CoD: Ghosts, Assassin's Creed IV and Watch Dogs ontop of Pikmin 3, W-101, Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost World, DKC Tropical Freeze and Mario 3D World.

2013 is a great year for WiiU despite the doomsayers :).

Well considering all of those except the Nintendo titles (and Platinum title) can be had on other platforms, and a few of them even have next gen versions....

Yeah, I dunno, everyone's saying how bad Nintendo's situation with Wii U is, but it seems like it's getting better third party support than the Wii did. The difference is none of Nintendo's first party software is lighting the world on fire the way Wii Sports or Super Mario Galaxy did at this point in time.

Well that's the trick with multiplats isn't it? People buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games, but if Wii U is getting the games they'd want on PS360 (or at least the bulk of them), then you're set with one system.

Well, now that this si coming to the wii u, I think I am going to buy my first CoD, hopefully it will be available on the e shop

Why wasnt black Ops II on the E shop?

It's nice for people who only own Wii U's and don't plan to buy any next gen consoles, but otherwise there are likely better versions of every single game on the list aside from the exclusive ones.

I guess we shall see!
The PS4 and Xbox One versions of those games will definitely have a leg up, but Wii U off-TV play is a big incentive for me.

That being said, unless games like KH3 and FFXV are announced for Wii U at some point (doubtful), I'll buy a PS4 eventually.

How does these games being on other consoles take away from this being a good year to own a Wii u?

Because I'm sure people will complain about something... Erratic frame rate, no AA, something will be off from a visual standpoint... Wouldn't surprise me if 360 version looks better. But I hope I'm wrong

Oh I'm sure people will find something. You'd hope after a year in the hands of Devs things will be a little different than last time (when, to be fair, it was only really some asinine problem with some shadows that got people riled up). Plus, ya know....Treyarch.

The WiiU version of the last one was actually a very clean port all things considered and in several respects out performed the ps3 version iirc. With the info we now have from Criterion regarding the toolkit still being junk and and unfinalised dev kits etc around December, that's actually pretty impressive.

Come on gameplay reveal trailer... A lot of people saying they are getting this will probably sing a different tune after.

If it performs similar Blops II (and has good Wii mote support) then i have no complains. Day one.

I trust Treyarch to do a good Wii U version better anyway, so good news to me!
If they have non-laggy filtered Wiimote cursor in this one, unlike Blops2, I'll get it. But I'll need confirmation on that first.

I also hope it has the same Gamepad support, especially off TV wiimote. Shit was awesome that you could use the sensor bar on that.

It just does somehow. I wouldn't think about it to much. Also, pc doesn't count so don't bring it up to draw a similar comparison elsewhere.

They gonna actually release dlc this time? Ha. I imagine they'll answer that question with silence as the first dlc pack hits other places.

What. The Wii got something 84 EA games in its time. The Wii U has had four with little guarantee of more. Ubisoft is making statements that indicate that they plan to slow down their Wii U support by next year if the platform doesn't turn around, even if they are throwing a bunch of their big players on the system right now. Activision is the only one currently continuing full-blown support for the foreseeable future, and with how they're trimming down to focus on profitability who knows how long that might last. The Wii had ton of third party support all around, it simply didn't manifest in the games the core was hoping for. To say that the Wii U is getting better support is erroneous at best. Perhaps it would be better to say that the Wii U is getting better core support at this point in time, barring a seemingly disastrous holiday 2013 for the system at the worst.

It's time for Wii U owners(myself included) to step up and support the release. I have a 360, PC and Wii U. I will buy the Wii U version to show support for third parties!

Seriously you Nintendo owners, you people need to support these releases(obviously based on it being a credible port) or you'll only be playing first party Nintendo games on the system in the next year or so.

Did you buy BLOPS2?

I'm not sure why I feel negative towards Nintendo, I just do. I wouldn't think about it too much. They are just not a respectable company compared to the rest.

Me too! Is there a GAF community for Wii U CoD players?

add me too NNId is ENEWTABIE. Love this game. Prestiged(only done that on COD4 on 360) as I never have the time, but I love playing it on the Wii U.

This is great news. I'll pick up two copies. One for 360 and one for Wii U.

I'm sure the numbers were definitely better for Wii, but I absolutely agree that this fall and holiday blows away any time period in the Wii's lifespan for quality third party support.

Given the sales numbers, I'm frankly surprised that Nintendo has managed to keep decent support for this year. If only Nintendo Japan was as successful.

Cool, I'm glad Treyarch is still behind this platform, their ports have been unheralded but still pretty decent alternatives (unless you were expecting DLC, of course,) and the second-screen feature of BO2 was good stuff. Wii U deserves to not be left out of the biggest gaming product of the year.

Too bad the portable line stopped, I don't personally like COD much but there was something about having a FPS on a portable that I liked about the nSpace DS games. 3DS and Vita are too far apart to do cross-platform releases (people might say that they could have been fooled by COD BO Declassified, but...) and the Vita's not getting ports of the console games or even the iPhone games, so sounds like that's the end of the portable party.

Ok, folks, here is the deal. I've never been a big fan of the Call of Duty franchise, but Treyarch did an amazing job with the Wii CoD ports.

But fuck, I'm CRAVING a good IR pointer shooter!

Now with this
The title includes Wii Remote and second-screen Wii U™ GamePad support and more. Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled for release on November 5, on Wii U and is not yet rated by the ESRB.

I will definitely get it.

Thanks Treyarch!

Will buy. IW's multiplayer maps have always been much better than Treyarch's IMO and the Wiimote aiming in BlOps2 was, after some patching, pretty great. Hopefully auto-aim will be toned down on twin analogues this time - following people through walls is a bit much - but I suppose something has to be done to compensate for the disparity in speed. Fingers crossed it's a good version, because much as I'd like to believe otherwise, I doubt there'll be another COD on the console in the foreseeable future.

I would need to know the dlc would be available before I buy another cod for my WiiU.

As for supporting Nintendo, I did at the cost of £350....

You won't get it. It will run at a sub-HD resolution just like every other PS360 iteration and it WILL have slowdown. It won't receive any additional visual tricks over the PS360 versions and it will probably run worse (just as Black Ops 2 did).

Multiplayer runs just fine, and that's what matters most. Blops 2 single player took a hit in fps, but I would expect any kinks to be ironed out for the new game.

Better core support is what I meant, yes. I also said at this point in time. The Wii didn't get any of the Assassin's Creed games for example, and MW1 was late and MW2 never came out at all. Yes there is still some hesitance from Ubisoft about supporting the console going forward but it's still better than shitting out Imagine titles left and right.

Define "better". AAA support? Definitely. And the Wii U's more modern design would definitely allow room for continued third party multiplats even after the One and PS4 really started to bear their teeth, but that's neither here nor there. We'll see how it does after the holidays to make any claims on that.

In terms of general support? The Wii was a hotbed for a lot of experimental IP and tons of cool AA games. I'd take that over half-assed AAA ports any day, even if both would be preferable. The only new IP for the Wii U from a third party (and not through a publishing arrangement) is ZombiU, and that's definitely not getting a sequel. This fits in with the general trend of third parties erring on the side of caution going into the next generation, but I doubt the Wii U will be able to foster the same level of experimental games even when major publishers open up to that again. I suppose that's where Nintendo's indie blitz comes in.

Exactly. We know MS/Sony actually care about gamers and are in the games business to look after us. Nintendo is only interested in helping themselves. Smh.

I wonder if there will be Miiverse integration this time. Does treyarch respond to Twitter spam?

WiiU has great potential for sales this holiday if Nintendo price drop it and properly advertise the hardware and it's titles, both exclusives and multiplatform.

It'll be very interesting to see the reaction of the doomsayers if that happens.

Agreed, Ubisoft statements to me mean that future support is dependent on two-three things:
-How well the wii u hardware sells
-How well does their games sell
-Did the Ports Make Any Profit

If the userbase expands decently in the holidays, I see support continuing.

I think a Zombi U + CoD Ghosts Bundle would be good.

I would if Activision would do like everybody else and put their games on the eShop.

I'm sorry I didn't see anything about the PC version in the OP.

Some people like off-TV play, non-split-screen-multiplayer and other Wii U features not available on PC, but it's not like if it had already been mentioned a thousand times on this thread, yeah.

I wouldn't be surprised to see those Wipeout and SpongeBob games outsell COD, its on the newgen twins as well as ps360, right?

Being able to play on the can is cool, but most people want to play on the same same platform as their friends.

Nintendo's already in a position where they're taking a loss on every Wii U sold. It's a relatively small loss, something in the order of $50-$70, but it's still a loss. Dropping the price by even $50 this holiday would widen that loss to $100+ per system. The 3DS also sold at a lost post-price drop, but it was something like $20 a unit, and they made the system profitable by 2012. Without a revision in their approach, either through design or something else, Nintendo will be hard-pressed to push the price down especially after losing money for two years straight. Can Nintendo take the loss? Absolutely. One has to wonder if Nintendo has the brass to do such a thing to better the install base. Sony and MS went for years on $300+ losses to establish the PS3 and 360, but Nintendo is smaller and fiercely cheap. So who knows.

I remember reading somewhere that a Black Ops II bundle was planned at some point, but canned. Pretty stupid if so.

Probably be, anyways if Nintendo wants some sales maybe cut Deluxe price to 300:
Bundle Idea
CoD ghosts
Zombii U
Pro Controller
Ussual Stuff for Deluxe
350 Dollars

Definitely getting the Wii U version over current Gen. Why?

A.) From my experience, Wii/Wii U COD players tend to not be as skilled as 360/PS3 players. Giving me the advantage..or at least being on par.

B.) Much less "N******!! F*******!!" Type of offensive chatter. Plus, it does a good job at a wireless headset through the gamepad. At least, if my online experience with R.E. Revelations is any indicator.

C.) On par, if not better graphics than it's 360/PS3 cousins.

D.) The usual Gampad features and Miiverse. Luv the Miiverse.

Of course, all this may get thrown out the window if the PS4 arrives ahead of it.

I sometimes question the hit detection with the Wiimote. I've seen a couple Final Kills where the gun was facing in one direction, while a shot that was way off counted as a hit.

Oh oh!!!, Classic Nintendo fanboy response ...then shells out 60 bucks for Next 2d Mario.

This game is going either bring back wavering 3rd party devs or finish off the Wii u as viable for non Nintendo games.

The other company that will watch the sales like a hawk will be EA.

Ball's in your court, Nintendo Fans.

I really despise these kinds of post.
