DETROIT (WJBK) -

23-year-old Samantha Sullivan is a former soccer coach. Prosecutors say an after game celebration in May with her players ended up in drunken sex on Detroit's Derby Hill, a park near Mound and Outer Drive.

We are told Sullivan was working for the Police Athletic League as part of their after-school program at Detroit's Osborn High School. Detroit Public Schools says that program was not sponsored or paid for by the school or the district.

The former coach is now charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and providing alcohol to minors.

The alleged victims are two teenage boys ages 16 and 17. It is alleged Sullivan took them out for pizza, ended up at a liquor store where she bought alcohol for them, then went to Derby Hill where police and prosecutors say she had sex with the teens.

Police say the 17-year-old came home staggering drunk. His mother had been calling him all night worried and wondering about his whereabouts. That is when the story unfolded, the investigation ensured and the charges were filed.

Investigators and potentially alleged victims were expected to testify Tuesday, but Sullivan's new attorney requested time to review the evidence.

Sullivan is now due back in court on August 27. She remains free on bond and left court without commenting.

Detroit Public Schools released the following statement:

"The individual in question is not an employee of Detroit Public Schools and the allegations being made against her involve conduct that did not occur on school grounds. However, we take allegations of this nature very seriously and as soon as school leadership was made aware of the alleged conduct, the proper authorities were immediately contacted."

Detroit PAL also released this statement:

"We at Detroit PAL have been cooperating fully with the police and school officials in this investigation. Our first concern is always for the kids who participate in our programs and for the hundreds of volunteers and supporters who are the basis of this organization. Because this is a formal police matter, we must refer any additional questions to Sgt. Eren Stephens of the Detroit Police Department."

Situations like this seem to be occurring much more frequently the last few years. Maybe it's just more exposure.

Especially if it's a fantasy for the coach, and it'll always be a fantasy for the students.

Just outta college age. Probably wanted to relive her party days after they waned off a little post graduation. Not really much of a physical difference between two 16 and 17 year old athletes and most college students.

ALL that being said, she done messed up. Her age being so close to theirs, there was probably a prior attraction on her part. That isn't very far fetched. The boundaries were already crossed when she bought them alcohol, so then the party just got wilder from there.

Also, yeah 23 to 16/17? No big deal to me, sorry. Didn't look at state but if the parents weren't pains in the ass about it, this wouldn't have been a legal issue most likely (cept for the alcohol thing but whatever).

Of course 16 year old boys can make their own decisions about sex but when I entrust my kids to an after school care program I shouldn't have to worry about their coach buying them booze and fucking them.

16/23 isn't a war crime but you can't blatantly disregard the responsibility this woman had for these kids.

I think it happens everywhere, honestly. Especially when you're dealing with fresh out of college teachers. The biggest major at my university was education, and I can tell you that there are some freaks of the week in that group. It's so weird seeing people become teachers when you know what they were doing just a couple months ago.

Someone at 22 or 23 isn't necessarily that mature. Then you give them power and influence over people that are basically in the same demographic as them. Watch the same shows, listen to the same music, etc. It gets dangerous.
