Stimpy's Cartoon is legend between me and my brother...the mere mention of "Explodey" causes us to laugh incessantly.

I actually completely forgot about Wacky Delly.

I gotta go Ren and Stimpy here.

Wacky Deli.

On another note, Ren & Stimpy was a horrible show in every possible way.

If I had to choose, I'd go with Stimpy's cartoon, although before watching them both just now, I was prepared to go with Wacky Deli.

I loved Meet the Fatheads. Still funny to me.

This, this is pure gold. The one guy laughing his ass off is the best, and the episode with the Rocko parody character is god tier.

Haha, but this thread did re awaken my memory of that explody cartoon. I had completely forgotten about it. The timing of them exploding at the end is flawless.

This is one of my favorite threads to grace NeoGAF.

I need to watch both episodes again now. So happy Netflix has both on streaming.

edit: I have way more nostalgia for Space Madness than Stimpy's cartoon, and I watched a ton of looney toons.

Space Madness is one of the greatest cartoon shorts of all time.

It is not I who am crazy! IT IS I WHO AM MAD!

You're not like the others. You like the same things I do: Wax paper. Boiled football leather. Dog breath. We're not hitchhiking anymore. We're riding!

There is nothing about that episode that isn't perfect.

hahahahahahahaha

You can fuck right off with that statement.

It never resonated with me, the animation just looked gross to me. Same goes for Cow & Chicken, but at least I liked those characters. I was more of a late 90s early 2000s kid, Ahh! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Power Puff Girls, even early Sponge Bob and Billy & Mandy too, those were the shows I really liked watching. Looking at it only Rocko's Modern Life and Ahh! Real Monsters could be considered early 90s.

Also the fact that they brought it back and attempted to turn it into an adult cartoon speaks volumes of who they thought their target audience was.

Ditto.

Wacky Delly's only joke is "look how bad this animation is," which it fundamentally fails at because recycled animation and weird framing aside, it falls pretty much right into the style guide of any other part of a Rocko episode.

Stimpy's Cartoon is much more clearly divorced from the style of R+S and plays its fax-amateur thing much better as a result, and the "bad delivery" is actually damn funny rather than simply one-note absurdism.

Fatheads is pretty damn good, though.

Ren & Stimpy always wins. SNICK was worthless without it.

It's fun to revisit Rocko's Modern Life and see all the things you missed as a kid.
Absolutely. Months ago I was watching it regularly again. Typically old cartoons I loved aren't as good as I remember as a kid (The Tick) but Rocko I was actually laughing at more than when I was a child.

There is something very odd about calling Ren & Stimpy ugly when listing Rugrats as a favorite, which is an all-time king of absolutely grotesque art and subpar animation.

I liked Rocko and all, but it's no R&S. Never was. That said, I COMPLETELY forgot that The Fatheads had a laugh track of one guy. That's brilliant.

The Adult Party Cartoon isn't as bad as people claim. It has wonderful animation, beautifully detailed backgrounds, and good gags. It is a nice addition to the series. I don't think it beats the original, but it is an enjoyable experience. My childhood survived.

I need to rewatch both of these shows. Especially Rocko. I LOVED Rocko as a kid. It was fun because I got a lot of the adult jokes at the time too.

There were a few funny scenes (I especially liked the first episode where Ren pulls out the monocle and takes a huge drag on a cigarette), but overall it just felt like it was trying way too hard to be shocking.

Also couldn't get over not having Billy West as Stimpy.

That was the biggest problem. Not the silly gay jokes that turned adults into sniveling children.

And to be fair, Spike wanted it as "adult" as possible, and John K. complied.
