Jack Tretton: "[PS4] Production yields have been fantastic"

I'd be in the dick
Because of the slant of the console you have some wiggleroom to hide the cables, a 90 degree socket HDMI cable should not be viewable from the front, and I have no idea about the power lead.

About the Quote, I think we need to take it with a pinch of PR salt, though the wording of it, using fantastic does seem to make me think the yields really are as good as or better than expected, if they were poor I think we'd be hearing it a little more negatively like "good yields" "up to expectations" that sort of thing.

Good tip. I think I'm going to go for it.

It's almost time.

That glow is sexy

That's one sexy console...one of the best ever.

I also hope they would increase those flops if possible as the yields have been great.

Damn, Sony has the momentum of a high speed Maglev train right now. Also, loved when he brought up Clooney. Clooney absolutely nailed Daniel Loeb on that whole ordeal.

Does the PS4 come with a stand?

Also, how did they hide the cords?... Magic!

- angled power cord (only power is needed for that shot)
or
- digitally removed the cord (rather unlikely)
or
- dat glow is shopped on (hard to tell)

The console is slanted on the back so that probably partially covered the chords then they just put them behind the desk. Picture is also taken from an angle which would hide them even more.

We all make fun of Fox but i kept the show in the background, and that gal is quite knowledgeable. She sees Ratchet and asks Sucker Punch guy what is Ratchet doing there....

Would had heard about it by now.

You would have heard what?

I said test their luck & up clock it since it's having good yields what would you have heard?

they can do this with a Firmware Update if they ever release a game that need it.

1.84TFLOPS has been their target since the 1st leak so it's not like they pushed the final product & seen that 800MHz was the limit before it started over heating or anything.

but seeing that they are the Top Dog right now & their isn't much of a reason to up the clock I don't think it's going to happen.

Doesn't look like it. When the glow on the console shows up, it is followed by the glow on the controller, suggesting chain reaction.

It's tacky. It's like those toasters that glow when they're toasting. Nobody cares about your damn glowing toaster and it looks stupid. Just give me a tiny LED indicator.

Using that GIF is tacky. And I like the glow so you're wrong.

Changing to???

Well, first sometimes things due not end up as everyone believes, more so that consoles fates do not rely on us, the enthusiasts, which buy a lot of games, but on the casual gamers. I believe the market is changing, I am no analyst and I don´t have any studies to back this up. I hope the low sales we are seeing are because of Next gen systems coming, but I also believe the console space has more competition now than ever before. Decent gaming PCs are way cheaper than before, and with AMDs APUs this trend will continue to drop. The PC game market is cheaper, just like the other competitor to consoles, tablets and phones. I don´t see casuals dropping 60 on games like before, maybe just Madden, Fifa and/or CoD.

Tomb Raider games never hit 1 million?

Things sounding good once again from Sony.

Edit: "Hand operating things" oh dear.

What else was he going to say? Yields are bad and they'll miss shipment estimates? Yeah... let's not scare away investors. Especially after the PS3 launch issues.

If yields are bad he just would've stayed quiet, he wasn't asked about it and it hasn't been a floating rumor like the xbone yields were. You usually only announce this sort of stuff without being asked if it's actually true.
