Xbone Game DVR sharing only over Live at Launch, YouTube & Facebook added Next Year

"Beta tested in the future," was it?

It appears that slogan makes more sense than I would have thought. Beta Tested in the future since many of the features are coming out in the future.

What are all the cool Xbox One features that are coming after launch? Seems like I have read about a few features being delayed till after launch!

y'all should be ashamed
I'll be very surprised if (a) Twitch live streaming is at launch, and (b) works as well as the E3 demo showed.

Perhaps Albert could chime in if Twitch is still making it for launch?

If they can't get the api to upload to youtube in, then yeah IDK if Twitch being in at launch is a safe bet.

I'm desperately trying to find where I read that but I can't. I'm positive I didn't imagine it though as I was quite dissapointed when I found out

Yeah I can't seem to find anything on google, guessing it was an off the cuff video remark?

Wouldn't "by next year" mean this year?
Delivering sometime next year is still delivering by that year.

I'd assume it's sooner rather than later, regardless, because the effort to implement is trivial and they're probably going to get compared unfavorably to the PS4 in this area until they do.

Aaaaand behind a paywall, consumers will have to pay Microsoft to advertise their console, genius.
The biggets 180 won't come until they change all their shitty XBL policies and actually offer value instead of ripping of people.

He should clarify, because when I say "I'll be there by 3:00pm", I'm there before 3:00, and anything after that means I'm late.

Company makes money, news at 11.

So here's something...in the Xbox One page, there is not a single mention of Twitch livestreaming anywhere on the site. If you didn't see it at E3, you wouldn't even know it's a feature.

Only the Game DVR gets mentioned. I really think it's been delayed.

Didn't cboat mention some app or feature was going to be dropped in Sept?

With the PS4 Twitch announcement and the no-show at GC/TGS for X1, wouldn't be surprised if twitch was dropped completely. For now at least.

I hope there isn't going to be a barrage of system updates for both consoles, I can live without features being added for a while.

it still blows my mind that people care about watching other people play videogames.

I'm going to be using the PS4's recording as more of a "Hey guys, check out this awesome death I had while I was playing Demon's Souls 2", that I can post to Facebook or something, and link my friends. (Even the ones who don't have that console)

Hard to tell. Its poopily worded. If he meant before next year, then he should have said that. Maybe its just more fluffy PR to muddy the waters.

People already pay for live, the ones who don't have it are probably not gonna pay $60 for this, a capture card is cheaper.

I think you are missing the point.

I don't think they are going after the capture card market

Next-up: YouTube and Facebook sharing only available to 'select countries' in 2014. Tier 2 and 3 'sometime in 2015'.

Well, what I'm trying to say is that the people who care enough to record footage and upload it will probably subscribe to live, regardless of this feature.

Just watch youtube, facebook, twitter, twich and ustream be flooded with ps4 videos, overwhelming x1's, it makes sense to have costumers advertise your console for free, like Sony, not to mention it's not very nice of them to charge you but that's another topic.

It's mentioned in the fine print of the multiplayer section. I haven't heard about it being delayed but I wouldn't be surprised.

YouTube uploading is a pretty basic feature to implement.

Really a missed opportunity. I can imagine YouTube gaming channels being filled with PS4 gameplay instead.

Company makes money, news at 11.

Wow you really do live up to the name you've chosen. Company is going to get creamed by not changing their policies in the face of a competing product that is proving to be the superior use of $400 heading into next gen.

That report will be at 11 as well.

That paywall locking of all your key features. And I mean even Internet explorer is behind a paywall. That's a huge downside of a console trying to be the living room media hub for America to compete with the Apple TV and other media options.

It is more then obvious the share/stream functionality was a " me too " tacked on feature MS only put in after the Sony February conference. There is only so many similarities between 2 systems before you start to realize one company is just reacting to the other.

If this was predesigned with the system then this stuff would of been ironed out a long time ago. I mean Sony has the share button built into the hardware ad into the controller so it had been in the design from the beginning.

I wonder if the share functionality keeps native resolution on the PS4? Sorry but 720px30fps is a gimped capture for a next gen game.

The general public isn't GAF. The internet is a very vocal minority. Will MS dominate Sony in the states like it did during the current gen? Nope. Will they get creamed? Absolutely not. They'll make money.

I wouldnt be surprised if live streaming support was decided upon 5 minutes after they saw Sony announce it in Feb. They showed a live stream window at E3, but then did absolutely nothing with it. Probably was just a mock-up. Everything about this console feels cobbled together rather than a cohesive unit like the 360 by a development team that felt like there was no possible way their consumer base would jump from the Xbox brand back to Sony. They're in for a rude awakening.

Xbox One - "All in One.....well, within one year!"

Honestly, this will not be that big of an issue if you can share videos on Xbox Live for now and they dont take 8 plus months to get this implemented and working.

I also believe that MS initially did not want to launch at 2013... that or either they didn't have most of those features of what the PS4 had and were caught surprised when Sony announced them

Is it confirmed YouTube and Twitch will be there day 1 on the PS4? I was really looking forward to these sharing features on the new consoles.

Did I miss something? Are they letting you upload to "So.cl"? Because how can uploading clips within the Live network compare to uploading to Facebook/YouTube?

Xbox live is a social network. Microsoft is trying to expand that. It's not difficult to see. Whether you agree or disagree with their direction, that is where they are moving.
