RUMOUR: Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is 720p, PS4 version is 1080p?

I don't think Activision is going to jeopardize a few hundred-thousand CoD:G/XB1 Pre-orders by telling everyone that the XB1 version is inferior - not until after the orders start processing anyway...
Not too mention that switching from the XB1 version to the PS4 is impossible now since there are no more PS4 consoles left to Pre-Order. You got three options basically:
1. Stick with it, despite it's unconfirmed inferiority
2. Cancel it out right and don't look back
3. Cancel and just get the PC version
Activision will make sure it holds its cards close to it's vest if it's bluffing with 720p cards, to prevent Pre-Order cancellations. Because if it's not bluffing, the 1080p cards would already be on the table.
Question: Have the Next-Gen versions gone GOLD yet? If so, then what's the resolutions? Can't fiddle screen resolution after it's gold, can you?

Someone probably already beat me to it but Ryse is not cross Gen and is only on xbone, where ghosts is on 5 platforms (6? Is it on wiiu?) not to mention old engine.

Well thank you for commenting. I'll ask you this though. Call of duty was synonymous with Xbox last gen. IF this turns out to be true, it's going to clearly show that the Xbox is a less capable machine from a pure hardware standpoint. It's going to clearly show the wild claims that dedicated servers are going to make up for this lack of power with Xbox live compute are bogus. No amount of "the games still look great" is going to change that in today's day and age. Word spreads like wildfire these days, as you can see. Does this not worry you guys in the least? I mean, I bet some people over there are REALLY regretting their decisions on choosing what hardware they put under the hood. Not being able to hit 1080p on one of the premiere franchises in the business while your competitor does would be downright embarrassing. Just my two cents,
Dude 1080p is over 2x the # of pixels. That's a big difference.

COD is what it is. People keep saying the game looks bad on PS4 so I assumed there was something wrong with the PS4 version in particular.

I don't play PC games, so maybe that's a large part of it. I'm not defending COD, or the Xbox 1, or anyone. I'm not even buying an XB1. I'm just saying there are people out there who couldn't tell the difference without checking the resolution info on their TV. But I appreciate what you're saying.

I'm beyond shocked they haven't yet mandated he stop posting. I suppose it's fine since no one can prove him wrong at this time, but be assured, his posts are undoubtedly being bookmarked for later use once digital foundry and others do their analysis between the different games.
Also, if EA and Dice are any indication, we should not expect a confirmation from Activision or IW about the official resolution. As always, it will be the consumer who confirms this, sadly.
All the posts like this are completely missing the point that this is a game that already doesn't look great for a current-gen game, and they (supposedly) can't even get it running at 1080p when their $100 cheaper competitor can?
This isn't about this game specifically; 99.999% of the people who were going to buy it are going to buy it for the system there were going to get it for regardless, and they're going to lose like 5 copies in sales from people on GAF about it if this is true. The real issue is that they can't get THIS running in 1080p, why the fuck not? This indicates hardware/performance problems, which IS a long-term problem. You start getting enough AAA multiplatform games that don't look as good as they do on a cheaper competitor + word of mouth and that becomes a significant issue, as well as good talking point for Sony.
I like CoD too. It's not, and hasn't been for years and years a looker. The PS4 footage is what I would expect from a current-gen release
If I were MS at this point, I would OC the hell out of everything: CPU, GPU, and memory. Then extend the warranty out to two years for all early adopters in case something fries. Then simply manufacture all future X1's with the appropriate hardware. If the gap in performance is really as big as people are saying, there may not be an X2...

Well, I don't really think it's ever a good idea to call for someone's banning. Let the staff deal with that. That said, Mortimer has a really really good track record. And he even warned us that this is very thin, and that he didn't believe it. His mistake today was that he got ahead of himself, and teased something he couldn't end up talking about. And he admitted he shouldn't have done this. Bish already talked to him via PM etc.
If this all ends up being false, I won't be mad at Mortimer or say it makes him lose credibility, because he told us to take it with a grain of salt this entire time. I'm sure in the future he won't tease if he can't say anything. All seems fair to me.

To be completely honest I like albert a lot. I think he is a good poster. I follow him on twitter. As far as microsoft's messaging has gone this year albert has been good while the rest of the company fell off a cliff.
That said... what he just posted is walking around the issue. Like I said a bunch of times... this rumor has been reaaaaaaaaaaal flimsy. After this I'm feeling pretty confident.
