Osiris being turned into Assassin's Creed Egypt?

Everything was Assassin's Creed.
Assassin's Creed V: Egypt |OT| Desmond is Everyone in Every Time Period!

This could actually turn out pretty interesting if it leans towards more unique mechanics and whatnot and is not just the same thing again. Then again I haven't played Black Flag, which could already be doing just that, so who knows?

An Assassin's Creed game based in India would be tits. A multitude of locales, culture, religions, British occupation, Mughal occupation, Hindu dominance, Sikh dominance, thousands of years of history, blah blah blah. Also each of those cultures brought forth their own sense of music and architecture, even Bhuddism has it's roots in India. I think it would be money.

That would make a lot of sense
But voice actors immitating that stereotypical Indian accent though lol

Also, i don't know if there was such a thing such as sikh "dominance" ... i mean, that period where either bhagat singh/bose would be interesting but would be near 1940's, but Mangal Pandey period would be probably the best setting around 1850-60s i think

A lot of people are surprised that it seems like that they didnt go into a time period that they could reuse their boat system. I feel the same way but since they aren't I hope they spend some time trying to fix and update the core mechanics that don't work or need some attention.

As long as it's not fucking Feudal Japan, I'm happy.

Keep that cliched, overdone BS out of my Assassin's Creed plz and thnx.

A dev confirmed before black flag that they wouldn't want to go to a location/time like that, specifically mentionally feudal japan. You can rest safely knowing that Assassin's Creed won't be overdone or cliche anytime soon.

I feel sorry for anyone having a creative idea in Ubisoft. Any of those will probably be just cancelled or turned into a Tom Clancy or Assassin's Creed game.

I love that they are exploring all these incredible locations and time periods. I hate that they are doing it in the framework of an Assassins Creed game. I put in AC3 to play through it for the first time this morning and after about 2 hours I just couldn't do it anymore.

I agree. I love the locations they have but the gameplay of Assassins creed is just so boring now, especially the combat since it's so easy and the same all these years.

So is Osiris the same Prince of Persia that cboat claimed was going to be unveiled at Microsoft's E3, or is that just the separate thing that never got unveiled from two E3's ago?

Osiris was a new IP from Ubisoft Montreal that took place in Egypt turned into Prince of Persia Zero 2 turned back into Osiris and now potentially turned into Assassin's Creed Egypt.

:Ubisoft:

Well, It's not like it was going to be different, game-wise, the title doesn't really matter. You know the Ubisoft templat: sandbox city with side jobs, places to climb/activate to reveal map, points where you can lose the police/enemies, economy side game, some superfluous crafting...

:Ubisoft:

I'm sorry but AC is the most boring game concept out of all game concepts which ever got so many games in a series. Out of all AC games the only one which I can call good is AC2, all the others (haven't played AC4 yet) are complete crap. Why it's so successful as to grant even another sequel after AC4 is beyond me. But this is exactly why sequels are bad for the industry: Ubi Montreal could've been doing something new and exciting instead of another boring AC wherever it'll be set.

Technically it's not the same since they made it easier =P

Ubisoft is going to run the franchise into the ground. I bet AC4 sales are going to be way under 3 already.

It's releasing on no less than five platforms. Then take into account that it's also a launch title for two new systems and is not competing with Watch Dogs since the delay and I think it's a recipe for good sales. I mean AC3, who many people consider the worst in the series, is the highest selling game in the franchise.

The main difference would be that Osiris was supposed to be like SotC in Egypt, so presumably all the giant monster stuff has been removed.
That's interesting. SOTC was a major influence for the PoP reboot IIRC? Also vaguely heard something about monsters in the next Far Cry, though I take that with a grain of salt as it seems out of that universe.

Ever since PoP didn't turn up this year I assumed it had been retooled as the next AC. Especially since it's the easiest way to market the next title to avoid a fall in sales.

The only reason for me to give this franchise a second chance is if they make an AC based in Egypt or anywhere in Europe.

For now i've had it with AC3 and Blackflag, both games are trash.

My coworker put up a story about this on our website on Monday night, because he found the image while playing the game for review. When Kotaku did the same story many days later, he said he'd shoot himself if GAF picked it up from them as if they were the ones to get to it first.

So, thanks GAF - now we're going to have to find someone to replace him, because he'll be dead! Do you know how hard it is to find someone good on short notice?!

AC: Egypt can be amazing. I like my Assassins Creed with more swordplay and less gunfights. I didn't like it that they went further towards the modern age with each Assassins Creed they put out.

The reason Ubisoft delayed Watch_Dogs was to make it fit in the Assassins Creed story, when it launches it's going to be called Assassins Creed V: H4x0rz followed by AC VI: Egypt and AC VII: Everything is Desmond.

Egypt and climbing pyramids is something I've always wanted from a future AC game. Do it Ubi, and follow that up with Shogunate Japan

This. All the cool places they could take the series. One of the main problems AC3 had was the setting. Here hoping Ubisoft doesn't drop the ball again.

The main difference would be that Osiris was supposed to be like SotC in Egypt, so presumably all the giant monster stuff has been removed.

That said Ubisoft has been saying how they want to make their games very grounded and realistic so I'm not sure something with monsters would ever make it to retail from the company as it is now.

Sigh, why Ubi, why !!!

Of course I am interested in Assassin's Creed taking place in Egypt, but if Osiris remained a new IP with monsters, it would have been way more awesome.

Too bad he mentioned Egypt in the same sentence.

“People on the internet suggest the most boring settings.

The three most wanted are WWII, feudal Japan and Egypt. They’re kind of the three worst settings for an AC game.”

So they won't do Egypt at all, or maybe they will, and Japan has become a viable possibility as well.

Next-Gen Assassin's Creed:

Main campaign takes place in 2015 and 'Abstergo' segment takes place in 2087

Even better. Abstergo makes a Animus time machine that lets you tap into the memories of your descendants somehow so Abstergo segment modern, memories of 2087.

Dat mind fuck.

No kidding. Ubisoft must work on Assassin's Creed games non-stop.

I really wish they would stop and take a break and come back to it after they work on another ip but we all know how these companies love their yearly game releases for franchises

If true then I think it's about time they go fresh starting with a female protagonist.

Well shoot, I forgot about that part. Let's hope that someone at Ubisoft is foolish enough to start a new IP set in Feudal Japan or WWII (that is not a shooter). Otherwise we will be stuck with exciting settings like New Orleans and other places during the American Revolution. To anyone at Ubisoft I would suggest California during the westward expansion or just anywhere with uninteresting buildings.

I can't help but wonder if some people don't want Egypt/India because they don't want a brown protagonist. Personally is love Egypt or India we be had 6 mainline AC games with western settings give us a brown protagonist in something other than dlc (and vita)

A game set in ancient egypt with egyptian mythology is long overdue. But I would rather want it to be a new IP. Oh well, Ubi gonna Ubi.

Does the Assassin's Creed name still attract customers? I know it does the complete opposite of that for me. When I think Assassin's Creed I think janky Ubisoft garbage.

SotC based in Egypt? Hollly shit!

I love AC (excluding Rev and III) but I would have much rather experienced Osiris than AC: Egypt. *sigh* If true, heres to climbing, crouching on, and diving from obelisks to the sound of a crying eagle.

Bah
