Considering the ps4 version has very little improvement from the 360 version visually this, if true, is very surprising. Its like ubi didn't bother making any next gen enhancements this time round (apart from vegetation) so you would think Xbox one could keep up and give the impression at least that its a valid option.

I'm truly sorry. MS is obviously fucking you, and you are taking it like a champ. Good thing you don't realize that you are not going next gen, and only getting a slight bump from current gen. Be sure to keep your decade old TV so the games at least look a bit better than a Wii U game.

That's actually not true. There was a very, very large amount of skepticism that these new consoles wouldn't be able to do 1080p. People were predicting 4GB of RAM, etc.

For what it's worth, I asked Ubi PR about AC4's resolution on both next-gen consoles for a story, and they declined to comment. I guess we'll know soon...
Does anyone else remember when Aaron would be a guest on Larry Hyrb's podcast and they would both downplay 1080p and hdmi on the PS3? I seem to remember that 1080p and hdmi would be frequent questions on the show and they would dismiss the importance of these features.
Fooled SmashGAF into thinking I had insider info about 4 times despite the previous 'insider info' never being true. After that last time I think a mod caught on and tagged me.
Probably a Major Nelson or Aaron Greenberg follower. They will say anything to make people make the same mistake they made.
I think AC on Both systems is suppose to be 30FPS and maybe 60 in Multiplayer.

XBone is turning out to be such a failure of epic proportions. Anyone who still buys one desires the worst possible experience for a most premium price, why would you do that to yourself?

I can understand this argument, I just don't see the games people are thrilled about. Another racer, and unproven and strangely delivered fighter, another Dead Rising which has never been a top tier franchise/exclusive, and Ryse which could be something cool but no one really knows yet. I guess some people are really into Forza and Halo.

Is be surprised if nothing Sony studios put out over the last gen held any interest for people, but I likewise agree the MS studios have had interesting IP, hence why I'll probably pick one up down the road. But for the next few years at least, if this get is anything like the last (and not like the Wii U), most of the games we'll play will be 3rd party, and as result, just like the performance differences on those titles between the 360 and PS3 where the 360 apart always had the better port, it's preferable to play those games on a better performing system. For people without PCs, that's going to be the PS4. That's why I think it's a better first choice. But this is likewise a matter of opinion. Maybe first party games trump all that for you.

I bought a Wii U, and I know it is less powerful than the XBone, but power is not what I expect from Nintendo. MS made a joke console to put up against the PS4 and it fails miserably, but still has some diehard followers that don't know any better.
Your posts have been kind of douchey in this thread. You should probably step outside for a little while or something and see if you need to reorganize your priorities in your life.
Here's what I take away from all this 1080p 900p 720p bullshit that's going on. I think the X1 is more powerful than this. I just think this is more a reflection that devs don't really care about hitting a 1080p native render because they don't think most gamers care. Whether or not it's true is yet to be seen. People have to remember they started developing these games way before any of this shit started, and I don't think most of the resolution wars are extending beyond hardcore gaming communities.

Way I see it too. They wouldn't lower the draw distance as well as the resolution if lowering the resolution brought it to 60 FPS

I'm actually starting to feel a little bad for the guys who worked on this. I don't think they ever imagined such a disastrously negative rollout.

That's not entirely incorrect. Imagine if you were getting a game like Portal on the XBONE as an exclusive but it was 720p.
Innovation trumps resolution there. Conversely none of the Microsoft exclusives are anywhere near that unique.
If were going to go for 720p might as well continue supporting the 360, skip a gen.
