Quick question for the HDD upgraders here. What did you have to do after you installed the new disk? Did you have to bott into safe mode and install the 800ish MB update to reinstall the OS or did you just boot normally and the PS4 downloaded and installed the OS on its own?

No issues with updates, PSN or anything software wise - west coast. No video issues.

The system does however exhibit quite a hum, almost a slight "rattle" to the hum. I mean, it's not super bad, but it's noticeable - physical disc game being played. Mostly noted when vertical, and when I move it, it, the "hum-rattle" seems to change.

Anyone experience this? Normal?

COD Ghosts an PS3 was so bad I couldn't see enemies unless they were almost in front of me. COD Ghosts on PS4 I can see an enemies head pop out of cover from across the map. I shit you not sir. It's on completely different level of power and performance.

It does appear to kind of share the wealth and try to download everything at once, and for Flower and Contrast it actually installed in the background while I was doing other stuff. Killzone and Knack it said it was "ready to install" even though it hadn't finished downloading, but when I try to go to it I get a "installing application" with spinning circle that doesn't end. It could be it needs to download more of those files.

Had a few instances where it kind of went back to other screens as I was navigating around, I think perhaps I was trying to switch between apps / screens too quick after having it try to install knack and killzone before they had downloaded or something.

Hoping to try a little killzone tonight, but may just let it do its thing overnight while I try some other stuff.

And in the time I was typing that Blacklight and Sound Shapes finished, time to start up Blacklight.

Oh jeez this is unbearable, those are exactly what I would d/l first. 2 weeks can't come soon enough.

I guess it depends how loud you have your speakers on. Heh

I have mine relatively quiet as I don't want to disturb the peace in the house at 5 am in the morning.

Read through the thread from midnight. Very good to see issues are minimal. Seem largely related to HDMI. Going to pick mine up at EB 7 am pick up. Cant fucking wait!

Resogun froze on me, on the loading screen. Had to boot up in safe mode but seems to be working fine now. Small hiccup.
It sounds cheesy, but this really is the playstation I've always wanted. Amazing experience so far.

I think it's impossible to be impressed by the launch games. Don't get me wrong: I'd love to have the system already, but Killzone does not sell the console for me. Infamous might. The Order 1866 will.

How do I pause a download? I have too many games downloading at once and I just want to download the KZ:SF update so I can play right away but I can't figure out how to pause the downloads! lol

I think on the home page go to the individual square you want to pause and click options while you're on it, should give you the option to pause.

Killzone running smoove as hell,just stunning. Love the new controller,very confortable,the light has been changing colors,right now its chronic green. Makes it easy to find in the dark when i misplace it. Got the vita connected havent remote played it yet. My console is very quiet,a slight hum maybe and seems to be fairly warm. And it is stable no wobble ;)

Are you playing single player campaign with the single player patch to upgrade to 1080p?

You can't, for the time being. Pretty annoying I know. Your best bet is to just delete the other downloads and grab them later. It's really easy to do now that you can access your "library" from right there on the main screen. The library displays all of your purchased games in one place, whether they're currently installed or not. It's awesome. I'm a lot less apprehensive about going full digital now since its extremely easy to re-download your stuff with the library.

The servers are just getting slammed right now, I think a lot of people are buying their retail games digitally on PS4. Earlier today (before the midnight launches) I was getting over 6 MB/s while downloading Killzone. Fucking awesome.

I don't have PS4 but my summary of info so far is:

PSN is doing okay, some people are struggling to connect but when connected it seems speeds are good (maxxed out 60mbps connections etc.)

A couple of hardware issues but not many, seems that the overwhelming majority of PS4's work great for now. quite a few little niggles though that do seem to be software/settings related.

Sometimes when the SEN is down for maintenance messgae pops up on the Ui it takes me out of my game to see it or takes me off the apps i am looking at. Anyone else getting this?

HDMI handshakes seem to be an issue for some. Might be the included HDMI cables, might be that the port doesn't quite sit flush with the cable. Not sure yet. Will wait until I get mine. A lot of people have overcome these problems though.

Man, it doesn't tell you what update you're downloading for a game? You have to try and start the game for a prompt to tell you that it's updating, but I want to know how long an update can take. Come on, Killzone SF!
