Polygon's marathon Xbox One live stream

Is this guy literally drunk? I've pulled all nighters before and I wasn't slurring my words like I just put down a pint of Jack Daniels.

I like the point someone made (may have been Brian), that you need to judge the voice control as a controller. So when you hit A on the controller, the console responds immediately. No ifs or buts. Is voice control up to that same standard? No, it clearly isn't. So to my mind, what use is voice control until it achieves parity with a controller? Why would I want it when its nowhere near good enough?

I agree. Why say "Xbox, Go Home" and have it work say, 80% of the time first go when I can move my finger an inch, hit the guide button and have it go there 100% of the time?

It makes a bit more sense for the snap stuff and other things where you can shortcut without going through a menu but again, that's only a plus if it works first time every time.

That's not the point of a review...

And this is the problem with standards of gaming press. I notice clinging to ideas and possiblities rather than seeing what the product offers at the current time factually.

It allows reviews to come off murky and unclear in spreading a message.

I completely agree with you. I wasn't saying it was right for them to think that way, but that's how it seems. They praise all the features that they even admit are half-assed right now.

Seems pill related, maybe a nice percocet.

These two guys are professionals?

See, the thing with the gaming press is that it's not really attached to a paper or anything like movie critics are. So you can just conjure up favorable whatever just by writing some checks. There are enough people out there willing to take advertising money that you can swing the metacritic scores if you really want to. Gies worked for TeamXbox and got a $750,000 check from Microsoft for Polgyon. Why should anyone take these guys seriously? The writing isn't even particularly good.

Well damn.

I'm turning this shit off .... 1) Because this Crimson Dragon game looks like utter shit and 2) I can't stand these two guys.

This Crimson Dragon game looks miserable.

Chris's theory about putting shitty games onto next-gen launches for more visibility is completely reasonable.

Paul Miller doesn't work for Polygon. He's a Verge guy - except he's actually been AWOL for most of the year for some personal reasons/writing a book.

He's also a bit of an aloof guy that's implied that he has social anxiety issues. He's the guy that left the internet and is writing a book about it. I find him annoying on the Vergecast, but I've always felt a little uncomfortable mocking him as a result.

I honestly, truthfully don't understand what's next-gen about Titanfall.
Titanfall is easily my most anticipated game, and I agree.

It just looks like a great game, but it doesn't scream "NEW HARDWARE!" to me.

My first "THIS IS NEXT-GEN AS FUCK!" moment last-gen was when I downloaded the Fight Night Round 3 demo on my 360 in January of 06 or whenever it was.

Titanfall screams steam sale to me.

Seriously Crytek, make this kind of work when it comes to the engine for other companies. They will love you for it. I don't think they know how to make gameplay that doesn't involve a gun...

They've even been struggling with that for a while.

Everybody loves robots! And running sideways on walls.

I truthfully probably won't play either Destiny or Titanfall - don't have much time to play multiplayer games regularly, but I'm excited to see the multiplayer FPS genre evolve from its moribund state.
Watch Dogs will be typical ubisoft jank.

Reskin of AC1
It would be impossible to be that dull. Acre looked just like Constantinople with a green tint.

Mine as well.

Never had that with last generation. Motorstorm came close though.
The problem I face now is PCs. Something like Titanfall doesn't scream next gen to me simply because I'll be playing it on my current PC come release.

Hell the only game that's been wowing me is something like Infamous Second Son.

Point out where i said you were a lackey for polygon?..

I'm not going to hold my breath, because that would be suicide.

You're incredibly easy to find, despite what you thought, It would have been more fun if you were a lackey on thier payroll, Thanks for the meltdown though.

"Incredibly easy to find"? What the hell gave you the impression I was trying to hide? And from whom? What are YOU talking about? Enlighten me, detective. I hold an opinion that you disagree with, but instead of challenging it, you leave childish innuendo (only to back away when I call you on that shit). Not surprised, though, considering that's how this hackneyed conspiracy with Polygon started. Grow up.

Maybe every Microsoft game having micro-transactions is something CBOAT was saving for us..

Do Forza and Dead Rising 3 have microtransactions outside of traditional DLC? Disgrace if so. One of the things that pissed me off about NBA 2k14. The game is written around encouraging you to buy the gold currency they use. The regular grind is otherwise stretched out to unbearable levels as a result.

Much to Respawn's chagrin, you can be sure.

The irony of a Source game being sold on Origin is palpable. Once they get some legs Respawn hopefully won't make the same mistakes twice.

Here is a quick recap of Polygon's 12 hour PS4 stream:

I hope Polygon is just as tough on the X1 as they were on Sony's products.

Vita's UI is damn fucking ugly to be fair. But their stream was atrocious, not only with the bullshit you listed but they also sounded like they were all having a horrible time.

"So...we're going to do this for 2 hours more"

*Sigh* "really?"

"Yeah..."

*one of them facepalms

Seriously they seemed like some of the most miserable people on that stream.
