Two Euro PS4s have been confirmed to be made in Japan from the Euro waiting thread. All US PS4s I've read about so far in different threads have been made in China, including all the troublesome ones.

Wonder if there are any Americans with Japanese consoles too?

I don't know where on the console it says it as I don't have one yet.

The UK made the "Made in germany"-sign to warn people, because most of stuff that came out of germany was pretty shitty in the 50s. A few years later "made in germany" was a sign of quality.

Likewise. I guarantee the quality of Japan made consoles will be much higher than that of Chinese-made consoles. Japan takes manufacturing quality seriously.

this is exactly why... Chinese manufacturing is done in USD, and Japanese in Yen... it is simply more profitable for them to do it in Japan and sell in Europe.

Look on the bottom of your console. Tells you where and when it was made.

Mine says Sept 2013, China. City name I can't remember.

I can see PS4 selling another million in the EU next week because of this, and good availablility for black friday in the US.

i can confirm that 99% of the european PS3s are made in china, and the only PS3s made in japan are... the japanese version.
i REALLY DOUBT that this will change with the PS4. any proof that european PS4 are made in japan?

Even with that in mind the price difference is huge. £100 cheaper. Was just a theory anyway.

i can confirm that 99% of the european PS3s are made in china, and the only PS3s made in japan are... the japanese version.
