Wow guys. Don't go to the segment where he gets emotional talking about Journey unless you wanna experience...

I love that game too Shu.

Too late, I disagree with you, so I'm on my way to your house with a hammer. I assume by your avatar you are in the merseyside area, so I will just knock on a few doors until I find you.

(As a junior member I'm not sure if it's ok to joke about murdering a fellow gaffer, please don't ban me if I have crossed a line, it was only a joke..............although I really am gonna kill him/her)

Sheesh. Relocates! :p

Die in hell for your opinion!

Lost Odyssey defines mediocrity.

I don't want my time back from that game. I will give it that. And the short stories were nice, and the battle system was competent.

THAT'S IT THOUGH. Doesn't belong anywhere near a top 10.

Lost Odyssey is a great game dragged down by obnoxious, tedious loading times (even installed to the HDD) on top of a fairly routine combat system that doesn't do anything special, and boring (also tedious) dungeons. Some of those moving tile puzzles at the end of the game were just awful. Go here, flip this switch, go there, flip that switch *yawn*.

I love that game too Shu.

I teared up just listening to him talk about it, reminiscing on my own experience.

I can honestly say that Journey was a once in a lifetime experience for me. I came out of that game a different person than I was going in.

Game of the Generation to me for sure.

Just like how a lot of users on this forum will never understand opinions.

This. Reading this thread has been obnoxious because of all the people saying "this list is horrible," "how could he not pick [blank]," etc.

These are his favorite experiences of the generation. You not agreeing doesn't invalidate his personal opinion.

Worst, almost nobody took the time to listen to that piece and hear the arguments made behind every choice. The podcast is really well done...

I'm glad they ended the podcast when they did. We didn't need to hear their blabbering after the feels.

Haha i thought the same as well. Also ending with Journey's main theme was a nice touch after Yoshida's comments.Made me listen to the whole ost again. :)

Journey is so hyped to me at this point I dont know if it can ever live up to my expectations now. Especially since I know the
other player
twist

That is actually a very good and varied top 10. You have game mechanics focused titles like COD/DS, cinematic games like TLoU/Uncharted/GTA and unique/quirky like LBP/Journey/Sound Shapes.

I would probably put Killzone 2, GT5 or Marvel vs Capcom 3 in the list somewhere but thats just me.

It was his top 10 list on the Playstation official podcast... Some of you guys are so stupid saying his list is bad. It's his list!

Also the ending of the podcast in question got to me :(

Aureon

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
ITT: People overlooking that he made the list on a Official PlayStation Podcast, just right after someone else's "Best PS3 Games".
It's obvious he means best PS games during gen 7.

You can skip to around the 1:29:00 mark. He gets pretty emotional when talking about Journey.

  1. Journey
    [*] Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls (tie for #2 and #3)
    [*] Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls (tie for #2 and #3)
  2. The Last of Us
  3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  4. Sound Shapes (Favorite PS Vita game)
  5. Persona 4: The Golden
  6. LittleBigPlanet
  7. Grand Theft Auto V
  8. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Here is my list off the top of my head:

1. Demon's Souls
2. Dark Souls
3. Portal 2
4. Fallout 3
5. Persona 3 or 4 [They count as being part of this generation for me]
6. Ni No Kuni
7. Valyria Chronicles
8. The Last of Us
9. Journey
10. The Stanley Parable

Honorable Mention:
Bioshock (Only for the story, not gameplay).

Pretty decent list other than COD4 and GTA5. My personal top 10 of this gen would be

Last of Us
Journey
Yakuza 3
Yakuza 4
inFamous 2
Bioshock
Mass Effect 1
Xenoblade
Vanquish
God of War 3

For the most part I like story focused games, but Vanquish is an exception I felt the gameplay was so great that the horrible story didn't matter. Overall I was disappointed in the lack of Great JRPGs, Xenoblade is the only JRPG of this gen I would qualify as great.

Unless he is talking specifically about games that available on Sony platforms this is a terrible list.

Otherwise he has either never played anything made for the 360, Wii, 3DS, DS or the PC or just wont list them because he works for Sony. The former doesnt really make him much of a gamer and the latter makes him a big fat phony.

Good list, and lol at the people butthurt over someone else´s opinion.

No it´s not a horrible list at all. He listed 3 multiplatform games, so much for Sony platforms. He is a gamer and he is entitled to his opinion.

That list is really full of great games but Journey being #1 is a joke. How far up your own ass do you need to be to say that's the best game of the generation? And I'm a fan of indie games, I enjoyed Journey for what it is.

Seriously GTFO. People like different things. How far up your own ass of you to judge other people´s choices.

It's the playstation blog cast, bro. Their lists have kind of all been based around the PS platform.

Do you expect Microsoft to go and announce TLOU as the game of the year or something?

Way to read my posts bro!

I said it was silly. You don't think it is silly to do something like a top 10 list, something you are meant to think about deeply and objectively about and yet fill it with decisions obviously decided by the company you work for?

Note just in case you miss it again, I said silly, not unethical, unprofessional, wrong, etc.

People do platform/family exclusive lists all of the time. You're getting really bent out of shape over a top 10 list on a console manufacturers' podcast from the world wide studios president.

Error

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp
I find the Souls games mention hilarious since he was the one that passed up on DeS for release here before Atlus pick it up.

A laughable joke of a list. And for all the shit we give IGN and other sites over their lists, they got nothing on this one.

Why? Answer me that question. Why is this list, a man's personal top 10 games on the Playstation 3/Vita which was put out through the Playstation official podcast, a joke?

Indeed. I wish I could go back and experience that game for the first time again and again.

Such a moving experience. Nothing else like it.

That top 4 is legit, especially if we are looking at this as ps3 only.

Obviously Galaxy 1 and 2 should be there, but still a damn good list imo
