My lack of understanding limits me on what I can learn from Drama CDs.

The material of the Drama CD is the first ln, but it uses the sound effects of the first season, felt like I was watching the first season again, and I understood why Hito like the first Magical Stage so much, it's so good and I had already forgotten it.

It's too bad that the one good series is reliant upon nostalgia and affection for the franchise at large.
It's funny you should say that, as I'm enjoying it quite a bit, but hold no particular affection or nostalgia for anything Gundam. To me, it's just a well put together kids show with some stellar mechanical animation. It's fun.

I think it was Stockholm syndrome by that point

I think it being decent was more of a result of my delayed reaction of Max Heart quality after cramming that sucker in two days. I think Stockholm Syndrome kicked in more for Yes Precure 5 though.

To be fair, if I have a reason to like the first Magical Stage the most, it's because there's only 3 people doing it most of the time.

Even though I have my spots of nostalgia for a few select Gundam series (Devil Gundam shows up! Woo!), I don't know a lot of the references that the show's constantly throwing out. But if people can't appreciate the genius of a ridiculously extreme plastic Gundam fight involving a 13 year old kid genius named Niels Nielsen using a sci-fi robot with real katanas, then I'm not sure how they can enjoy anime at all.

This episode was awesome. As the little opinion piece that Jex linked in the other thread notes, making a giant robot show about bloodlessly fighting with plastic models for fun means that they can make awesome fights each episode that don't turn their protagonists into killers.

Also, this is the first time that I was forced to accept that the awesome particle field was actually moving the models around, instead of just being a way to project holograms of things. I'm glad someone in that universe is trying to figure out why that makes any sense.

Butterfly effect is always an awesome subject matter and it was really well executed.
Disagreed. I couldn't take the take on butterfly effect seriously when there is essentially a stupidly pinpoint accurate and arbitrary element of fate in this time travel at times working both in favor of and against the protagonists.

Every time the "Huh, that's weird, the clock stopped" line came, I was expecting the story to straight up introduce magic into the setting, with Okabe finding some magic crystal inside the clock or some bullshit. Then again, with his Reading Steiner being a thing, hasn't it been done already?

The very very final bit of time travel was actually a bit clever, I'll give it that

Machine Doll wa Kizutsukanai 8

So there was some doll fighting and some arc ending and some interesting turns of events in this episode, but I really don't feel very invested in any of it. Probably the most entertaining parts of this episode were the comedy moments where Raishin and Loki were trading insults.

Ah well, at least the ED is still good.

Sigh* Because it's just a cold , because you're still alive , because you can still move around

This episode was alright , roberto back story was kinda unpredictable but still expected of someone with a goal like him , so his reaction was understandable , even if he could HAVE made his point by just injurying them , but hey he is in "angel of death" mode so , well.

The whole confrontation wasn't quite logical , at first ok he had an hostage , but what prevented the whole pirate group to shoot him after he wasted his bullets and even hurt one of the pirates ?

Those kind of details are what are plagging this show , the plot try to move things around yet small problems are there , just like the episode before, for no good reason.

Well i will not mourn the dead in this episode , because well when you throw your humanity aside , only do it if it's your only option left and this clearly wasn't ( IMO )

C96 watch (kinda)
Another brutal episode. That bayonet sure is dangerous.
And they finally introduce a puppet-master of sorts. Wonder how this will go.
Attractive lady also makes a new appearance.

Of particular interest to this thread will, I imagine, be their discussion on Patema Inverted and HAL although they also devote time to Garden of Words, Evangelion 3.0 and Steins;Gate the Movie Thingy for their sins. So if you want to hear about those movies, give it a spin.

It's entirely in how well it sells itself as something special, and the music especially goes a long way in accomplishing that. Obviously it has prominent toy use and effects, but it's not content to just be a toy plug. It's magic enacted in the story, and is given that level of respect.

And yeah I spoke too soon.
Also I'm not entirely sure if spike is an idiot or not, he put that vial in her pocket on purpose clearly but could he have planned this outcome? Also that was not a particularly clever thing to do in the first place I'd argue.
Isn't it nice watching multifaceted characters? There's a limited supply of them in anime.

Oh, cool, thanks for the heads up. I think I've heard them talk about this before? Sounds like a pretty neat event.
I think I know how Brian's going to feel about 3.0, haha. You're my only hope, Anthony.

Very disapointing turn of events.

Why rush ? what prove you that this is the real energy source ? what if it's depleted ?
You're at a great advantage and you have your spy in , this way of events is just very stupid.

That sister indeed made the right choice but why complaining , when your other sister are back in shape ? Think that your problem are solved ? nope . you're still fugitive, your dad is MIA , your mother is either MIA or brainwashed.( or hostage ) what make you think that your problems are over ? Think that the pirates will let you go around unchecked ?

So what you can't support the entire world ? You don't have a freaking choice. it's either you fight or you rot and die , get a clue , girl !

Not that i don't mind that the 3 sisters have a gigantic clash of ideas ( it give them character ) but damn if i dislike characters that act stupid for the sake of the plot.

Yowamushi Pedal 8

Onoda, you are too good XD

So broken-tier.

Also in this episode, we learn that Miki was best-girl tier cute as a kid too. Not that it's difficult to be best girl when you're practically the only girl in the whole damn show, but she goes above and beyond regardless. I approve greatly.

Yowamushi Pedal 1

Opening: Really liked it. Would love to hear the full version.
Ending: Decent. Not something I would listen to repeatedly though.

This was soooo much fun to watch.

Onoda is just so hilarious with his anime obsession (The boy can sing!) and the fact that barely anyone he initially meets takes him seriously. His interaction with super serious Imaizumi and making him lose his straight face was just great comedy as well.

Legitimately surprised to see girls in the show. Miki seems like a sweet girl, if a little obsessed over what she does. Her friend does need to stop being so sour and cheer up.

Dual!! Parallel Trouble Adventures! FINAL

So at last I've finished this series, and I must say it is a pleasant little one. Not particularly astounding, but it was nice. If I were ten years younger I'd've loved it, and it is easy to see why. It's got an endearing cast, a good amount of teen drama/comedy, and some good ol mecha throwdowns. I would definitely recommend this to anybody in the mood for a harem mecha comedy. I know that's super specific, but it really is a sweet little show. It's not the greatest mecha anime of all time, but it has a ton of heart, and you can tell the people involved cared. It feels much more, I dunno, genuine? than a lot of mecha put out recently.

Good show.

White Album 2 ep 8

The hot spring episode was better than I would have expected given the 3 of them going together, but this whole setup is making it feel as if something pretty dramatic is about to happen and I'm hoping that won't come to pass.
Also, maybe I'm reading too much into it, but both Touma and Haruki feel like they are holding back.

Non Non Biyori - Episode 8:

There is no way Hotaru is a 5th grader. This series will end with it being revealed that she's actually Renge mother!

Is there any history of members from the Red and White teams performing the same song together?

As the event has gotten to become less of a competition and more of a showcase (although it wasn't much of a competition to begin with) they've gotten more lax with collaborations. I distinctly remember in 2007(8?) when Ayaka (Red) and Kobukuro (White) collaborated on a song. One of the major hangups in this is that Kouhaku is such a big event (40% ratings nearly guaranteed) and the slots are fought over so much that the management of each artist might chafe at sharing their solo time with some other artist.

Of course if they have the same management or NHK makes them do it, it becomes easier. I'm not sure if Mizuki Nana and TM Revo have the same management.

It's like some really bad kind of Rambo. Also the Pentagon wants to weaponize the cure for AIDS and stuff. Did I mention the bad anime Rambo? Dude's brows are NUTS.

Side note, I can't find a copy of Dracula, Emperor of Darkness, let alone the English Dub, so while I do some negotiating with the dude I negotiate with for this stuff, I am pleased to tell Cajun I will be skipping to Earth Maiden Arjuna.

Its pretty good :) Trivia:
Did you know one of the character's is from the Tenchi Muyo series?
May I also recommend the following series:
  • Elhazard Series (a little more epic)
  • Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari (Extremely awesome and also technically in the same meta-universe as Dual by a very contrived relationship)
  • Neo Ranga (a little darker)
  • ...at this point I can take you down a rabbit hole that will have you watching Gurren Lagann

White Album 2 1

Never watched the first season, but after hearing you didn't have to watch it and the good praise from others, I decided to give it a try.

First off, YAY! At an MC with an actual personality. Usually I'm treated to stupid, dense as fuck MC in these types of shows, so its nice seeing someone like Haruki for a change. Course its only the first episode but he seems pretty smart (going by the test scores, anyway) so I have some hope for him.

Opening scene basically layed out the two main girls. Setsuna is definitely a cute girl and wow does she have a singing voice. Still, I'm more of a fan of the black haired girl even though she hasn't talked yet. Wonder when she'll start interacting with them instead of just playing the piano.

Music is simply ace. Looking forward to hearing more.

Haruki is definitely one of the best parts of the show. It's sort of insane that it's uncommon to have a love interest where you can see why someone might actually fall for him.

I'm interested in the Bakemonogatari series, but there are just too many of them, where should I start?

The first two in the series are very well-paced. It becomes a mixed bag but this latest series, while still good, is terrible paced and a confusing hot mess. FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY AVOID THE RECAP EPISODE OR YOU WILL BE SCRATCHING OUR HEAD!

A whole lot of me going "Yo what?" in this episode. Senjougahara continues her trend of speaking like I wrote her dialogue in eighth grade or something. Some cheap perv laughs while she was away and also some relationship development for her and Araragi. All in all, not a bad episode.

Actually ,
both series are in the same multiverse. tenchi muyo (oav ) multiverse has several dimensions and the one of them is the one "dual" uses.

I think I missed the reason why Cordelia is wanting to stay alive to transcend time and what not, but wow, since her introduction last episode and being a compelling aspect for the plot along with Richter, theyve really made this something special, well moreso than it already was. I was just glad for this to have more Ayato
but then Kanato and Raito ruining the mood :( why they have to ruin the experience of just imaginging oneself in Pancake's spot :( and then they didnt do nothing at all
.

With both Cordelia and Pancake able to endure and persever, I cant figure out how the Sakamaki's will resolve this entire situation
especially since the full awakening is imminent, will this have a bad ending or even a vague one ?!

What is wrong with what i said ?
Your post above indicates that clearly knew that already .

The creator of both DUAL! and Tenchi Muyo!, Masaki Kajishima, confirmed that DUAL! is in fact an alternative version of the Tenchi Muyo! universe.

And since All his works ( all of them without exceptions ) are related...
