+Dr Strange table for Zen 2.

Wow, that was a lot to buy today. This DBZ demo is great. Was planning on buying anyway, but now I'm doing it out of more than "new Vita game" habit. Gonna get the UK release.

Awesome! Hope Eufloria HD looks and runs well? Not sure you've had a chance to try it yet.

DBZ demo was pretty fun. I was surprised. I hadn't even heard of the game and had no idea it existed, nor have I ever played a DBZ game before. It seemed like it might be repetitive though.

Runner 2 and Mutant Mudds are both great on Vita. Anybody have impressions of Indoor Sports World, Euphoria HD, and Furmins?

+1 for battle of Z I was not sure how this was going to turn out on Vita, but it seems like it could be very good.

Its pretty strange seeing the Vita currently getting more support then the PS4 is. You would think with the PS4s momentum Sony would be pushing games out on it. Instead we get a pretty big update on Vita, and nothing on PS4 in the near future.

Sparkle is a pretty good Zuma clone. 60 fps, good touchscreen precision, native res. Finally a game that my wife liked that isn't TOM blitz.

If a Candy crush would release on the vita, she would freak out.

Hopefully we get a few good games a year. I just rebought a vita after selling mine off last year. I don't really care what the game is (indie, Japanese, or big studio games) I just want content.

dude, you've got LOTS to catch up on if you sold it last year. the content is there now. go play it!

Other people have reported this issue on the PlayStation Blog. Seems like a weird glitch. I think Kristine Steimer said to contact Sony support.

I think it might be something connected to that one time where they gave it out for free (sans DLC)? At least I figured that's why mine doesn't even show as purchased when I look at the PS3 version.

Playing Terraria .. at the tutorial portion where i am asked to "dig a nearby ore". I dug the copper ore and I am still stuck? Doesn't really seem to progress..

FYI .. it's only the demo I am playing and the controls seems alright to me. The rear touchpad is activated without any choice to disable it. But it doesn't get in the way and helps a little with aiming sometimes.

Hello VitaGAF, some advice please.

The last console I owned was the N64. The last handheld I owned was the original Gameboy. I've been pretty much PC only since around 2000, but over the summer I bought a PS3 for The Last of Us, and got PS+ too and started picking up Vita games from that. I'm a recent, very happy owner of a Vita (managed to grab a £99.99 deal from HMV). Now, bear in mind I haven't played a single PS game apart from Metal Gear Solid (I played the PC version), or any major Playstation franchise, what PS classic games should I pick up that I've missed to play on the Vita?

If you enjoy JRPGs you should check out Final Fantasy IX or VII (if you haven't played VII on the PC yet).

i just played this - i think you have to dig ALL the ore.

Ya, that would make sense. I remember that they gave it away for free but you had to pay for it if you wanted to redownload it. Seems it was never tied to the PSN account.

I have the same issue and the same conclusion. I can't remember the details behind that free download of flOw, but my PSN account doesn't have it.

Anyone remember how in the hell to zoom with the binoculars in Strangers Wrath with the rear touchpad? Every time I touch or try and pinch my fingers as it says to, it just ends up melee punching. Seriously the worst use of the rear pad ever. Cannot get it to work.

DBZ looks great on Vita screen. Honestly the screen caps do it know justice. You do no notice any of those jaggies on the Vita screen itself.

The game is actually kinda cool. Im hoping it gets a little more complicated or in depth as it continues. I'm interested in picking it up now.

Anyone have any tips for getting the Rayman Legends "Terminator!" trophy?

Want to tell you my impression of Terraria

Yeah it looks terrible. The splash screen looks even worse. The actual game seems fine though.

The splash screen is simply awful. And I find that the game looks dull in color when I compare to the time I play it on a android tablet.

Why didn't they just say "papercraft". Trying to be hip with "origami"...

playing terraria on medium... what do you lose when you die? what should i do to avoid losing stuff?

I think you just drop (half?) the money in your inventory on medium.
Best to make a chest (some wood and iron bars) asap and store your stuff in that, especially silver and gold once you start collecting some real coin.

My PSP & PS1 recommendations:

Alundra (better & more challenging Zelda than most Zeldas)

Arc the Lad 1 (the first game isn't that good. It's passable. But the reason why you should complete it is that you get some great new content unlocked in Arc the Lad II)

Arc the Lad II (the best in the series, a quite dark toned SRPG series)

Arc the Lad III (not quite as good as II, but still great)

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (kind of dated gameplay-wise, but it's the start of one of the most epic stories in gaming, so I think you might want to play it)

Breath of Fire III (the best entry in this traditional RPG series)

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (one of the best 2d action RPGs in existence, still)

Cladun 2X (a rogue-like/dungeon crawler)

Corpse Party (a freaky horror-ish 2d adventure/visual novel game, really good if you think you might enjoy these kinds of games)

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped

Crush (a 3d puzzle platformer with a neat twist)

Darkstalkers Chronicles (a classic fighting game)

Daxter (a decent platformer set in the world of Jak & Daxter)

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

Disgaea Infinite (a fun visual novel, if you enjoy the Disgaea universe)

Dissidia 012 (a really fun 3d combat game with some RPG-lite elements. Don't bother with the first Dissidia, as Dissidia 012 includes the first game's campaigns)

Everybody's Golf series

Everybody's Tennis (a really good tennis game)

EXIT 1 & 2 (decent 2d puzzle platformers)

Fear Effect (these two are interesting experiences, nothing quite like them)

Fear Effect 2: Double Helix

Final Fantasy VII (one of the best in the series)

Final Fantasy VIII (has some stupid plot-twists, but all-in-all it can be an enjoyable FF)

Final Fantasy IX (this has incredibly slow combat, but if you enjoy the world & characters & everything you can do in it, then you might enjoy this a lot)

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (one of the best strategy RPGs ever, a very good story)

Front Mission 3 (a great mecha SRPG)

God of War: Chains of Olympus

God of War: Ghost of Sparda (it's a real wonder what Ready at Dawn got out of PSP)

Gods Eater Burst (a more fast-paced Monster Hunter like game)

Grandia (one of those classic JRPGs that everyone should play and not enough people have played)

Gran Turismo PSP (yeah, it's a bit barebones, but it can still be a very enjoyable driving game on the go)

Hoard (a fun dragon-game, really underappreciated & not enough people bought this)

Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier (not quite as good as Naughty Dog's original trilogy, but still an enjoyable platformer romp)

Killzone Liberation (even if you dislike or have no interest in PS2/PS3 Killzones, this is very different, a bird's eye view old school shoot em up kind of game)

Klonoa: A Door to Phantomile (classic platformer. A bit on the easy side to get through, but a bit harder if you try to find everything)

Kula World (mind-bendingly awesome puzzle platformer)

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (continues the story of LoK but with a new main character)

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (a classic-style JRPG for PSP. A bit slow at start and focuses quite a lot on character interactions, but if you like that or can get through that, the end pays off in spades)

Little Big Planet PSP (not as floaty jumping as in the PS3 games, they made LBP work really well on PSP)

LocoRoco 1 & 2 (some of the happiest, most smile-causing platformers ever created. You CANNOT play these games and not become happy and start humming the songs as you are playing the games)

Medievil (a kind of hack n slash/adventure game/platformer hybrid with a goofy main character)

Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X (Mega Man X remake, a really good one of a great game)

Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (this series is not for everyone, but if you do get hooked, be prepared to spend hundreds of hours on this)

Motorstorm: Arctic Edge (a really good portable arcade racer)

No Heroes Allowed (I don't know what genre I'd give this, it's a fun game to play on the go nevertheless)

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (these two are classic puzzle platformers, a bit trial & error, but still enjoyable)

Parasite Eve I and/or II (the better first game isn't on European PS Store, sadly, but the second game is pretty good as well)

Patapon 3 (the first two are on there as well, but I think Patapon 3 is so vastly superior that you probably shouldn't bother with the too-grindy prequels)

Persona 3 Portable (imho, the best or perhaps "most playable" version of the game, though YMMV)

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle (if you liked Disgaea and are pining for more, this offers somewhat similar goofy SRPG goodness)

Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero?

Prinny 2 (not the bestest games ever, but if you want somewhat challenging action platformers, these are decent alternatives)

Rayman (a challenging platformer)

Resident Evil: Director's Cut (the game that started it all, still holds up pretty well)

Resident Evil 2 (the, imho, better & much improved sequel, one of the best in the whole franchise)

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resistance: Retribution (again, not at all like the console games. A pretty decent 3rd person shooter)

Ridge Racer PSP

Ridge Racer Type 4 (great arcade racers, these two, better than the Vita game)

Riff: Everyday Shooter (a unique somewhat music-based shoot em up)

Rockband Unplugged (as close as you are going to get to the greatness that are Frequency & Amplitude on PS2)

SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 & 3 (surprisingly decent tactical shooters on PSP)

Space Invaders Extreme (Space Invaders brought into current millenia)

Spyro the Dragon Trilogy (another classic PS platformer series)

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror

Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow (pretty decent stealth shooters for PSP from the team that have also made Resistance Retribution and Uncharted Golden Abyss)

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (another good SRPG from the makers of Final Fantasy Tactics)

The Warriros PSP (a pretty good beat em up)

Tomba!

Tomba 2! The Evil Swine Return (great platformers that haven't gotten the attention they deserve)

UmJammer Lammy (good rhythm game)

Vagrant Story (a dungeon cralwer action RPG with fucktons of weapon customization & stuff)

Valkyria Chronicles II (the school setting & anime tropes can be a bit annoying and the game is kinda grindy, so if you can stomach those, this can be an enjoyable experience).

What Did I Do to Deserve This My Lord? 1 & 2 (more No More Heroes Allowed)

Wild Arms (classic JRPG)

Wipeout Pulse & Pure (some of the greatest arcade racers ever)

Ys: Oath in Felghana

Ys Seven (these are some of the greatest action RPGs around, really fast-paced, fun & challenging)

I probably missed a few, but I think those can get you started :p

Did anyone EVER play it online? I bought it day 1 and never saw anyone online.

Yes.
I have both the online trophies and didn't "grind" or "boost" to get them.
I've also had randoms join my game and send FR afterwards and such.

Want to tell you my impression of Terraria

Just post 'em up in here.

Anyone do the new extreme daily challenge for Rayman Legends? It's a Murfy one where you have to collect 150 lums as fast as possible. I get to this point where Globox jumps across this pit full of fiery eyeballs and you hit one of those switches to lift a wooden obstacle. Right after this, Globox hits a sparkle that spreads out a line of lums into an enemy -- without fail, the idiot spin punches through the enemy then jumps and misses the chain and falls into a pit.

I have no idea how to get him to make that jump right... can anyone help?
I took a screencap:

Without fail, as I said, the moron spin punches through the enemy and then jumps over the raised floor on the right and into the pit.
It seems you're supposed to either (1) slow him down or (2) kill him first? You can't kill him, only tickle though, right?

does flOw have analogue stick controls or is it touch and tilt?

Already discussed previously, so I already know the answer, even though the question doesn't really need to be asked... :p

NO. :D

I don't know if they ever "patched" it in, like they did with Flower on PS3 or whatever, but the game is designed for tilt... :p

I finished up Uncharted Golden Abyss tonight. Damn, that sure was a Vita launch game, wasn't it? Overall, the game was entertaining and fun, but those touchscreen mandatory moments were fucking shit.

Still, for being free it was worth my time. I'd rank it slightly below Uncharted 1 and above 3, with 2 being best of course.

No, you are right, the Murphy levels are so shitty that now NO ONE can even get through them. -_______________________-; There are no entries in the Leaderboards, meaning no one has been able to get through the challenge. I tried all kinds of different ways to get through that part and none of them worked (tickle the enemy, don't tickle the enemy, turn the lums purple, don't turn them to purple, don't hit the switch that would lift the obstacle a little before the enemy immediately to slow down Globox by making him run against it and come to a full stop, but no, a leap of death it is no matter what you do). You can't have any direct control over Globox, so there's really no way to get him through that outside of someone finding some way to glitch the game or something.

I got it from a promo a while back, when my og ps3 died it was gone and when I called Sony they said I would have to buy it if I wanted it again.

Well I bought it with Tekken DR + online patch. Downloading it right now from the Vita store since it's showing free :)

@ corrosivefrost... remember you can touch the lums with your finger to do the chains, and touch enemies if I remember correctly. That helped me ace the lum counts in some of those murphy levels in story mode.

Might help, might not.

edit: DBZ Vita, GOTY 2014

Still have to play Terraria, Eufloria, Flow & Runner 2, but Furmins & Mutant Mudds are nice.

That's not the problem. Even if you touch every lum before that part and tickle every enemy and squash every bug, you won't get more than around 100 lums by that point. Meaning that you should be able to get past that part, yet nothing you do makes Globox NOT jump into the fiery pit that awaits just after that part.

explain yourself!

It's supposedly a Digimon Story game. That series has been exclusive to the DS, with the name likely being a nod to the platform's initials. We've gotten scans for this month's V-JUMP announcements but not this one. Also, Bandai usually doesn't do year+ announcements for their handheld games.

Of course, we know V-JUMP is supposed to announce a new Digimon game this weekend, so if that's fake where is the leak about the real one?

Yeah, I read through your post above mine after I posted... seems like a legit bug, 'cause you knew what you were doing and there's no times placed.

Reminds me of that scene in Wayne's World where the old bald guy is bragging about how level 4 in his arcade game can't be beaten and prays on kid's quarters.

And here I thought, maybe, if I could do it, it would be hard enough that I might stand a chance at a diamond cup for the stupid trophy.
