For what it's worth Elan Lee, who has been huge in ARG's since the beginning (he was one of those talented peopl on the ILB team), recently was hired back by Microsoft for some of their entertainment stuff. While I doubt these tweets mean anything, hopefully some cool ARG type stuff comes out of his involvement there in some form.

Good point, though Jane would probably not be up for it.

Yeah, hopefully they both continue making new stuff.

One potential avenue would be to include an abridged version of ILB in terminals within Halo 2 Anniversary, but I could also see them wanting to have unique content for those, to follow the trend. That could be cool though, similar to Sadie's Story in ODST.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Are these cryptic promos for trailers still a thing?

I just don't have the energy for it anymore.

Still popular at Unfiction.

Even in 2005 I didn't get the point of ARGs. I guess it's fun for those that "get" it and have the skillsets, but me: I'd rather just be playing Halo/whathaveyou instead of doing PR for the game.

Much 343 talent leaked and two year dev time on so-so hardware.

Destiny will be my Halo game this year.

Destiny, the game that started developement on the 360 and is a cross platform game? That Destiny? I'm excited as anyone for Destiny but I'm more looking forward to the Halo game that is being built ground up on next gen hardware.

It depends on the ARG... ilovebees wasn't THAT fun compared to stuff like Art of the Heist and Last Call Poker. If there's a well built fiction surrounding all the PR crap then it can be easy to forget that you're essentially playing a commercial.

Then again, most of the ARGs I participated in back when I was big into ARGs were independent and non-commercial.

In all media, only true fans who consume every book, film, game, or pog collection deserve to know what's going on.
O man.....I HOPE SO!

I Love Bees still remains probably the best advertising campaign for a video game to date. ARGs just don't have it anymore when they all have to link to ESRB pages and privacy policies and stuff. Not as fun or mysterious.

Whatever this ends up beeing, consider me interested.

The worst part about ARGs is that I can't just point to a website and say 'Check this one out!' because they're a one and done kind of experience... that said Last Call Poker was the BEST Video Game related ARG I ever played.

It was the only reason I bought Gun.

Joke was on me, cause Last Call Poker was waaaay better than Gun. :lol

Most of the fun for me in ARGs is when they're not just some grand marketing shill, but a genuine passion project by some creative people. I Love Bees and Year Zero were my two favorite larger, commercial ARGs. But I don't think an I Love Bees 2 is going to have nearly the same impact since everyone's going to be expecting it.

Just look at PronunciationBook. No one knew what in the fuck was going on there, all sorts of wild theories ranging from doomsday predictions to Halo 5. Turned out to not be nearly as glorious by the end but the ride was utterly fantastic. And it was made all the more magical by the fact that no one could pin down a company or series it belonged to.

The original Thisisnotporn is still my favorite though. Asia Awaits...

I can't believe it's been ten years. ILB felt so cool and exciting back in 2004.

Yep, that stove in the field still haunts me.

Though that wasn't really an ARG, more just a collection of really good puzzles.

I fucking hate bees.
I don't know why, I've only been stung one time, but they freak me out.

I also hate Wasps.
Bumblebees are cool though.
I've been stung twice for no reason. My first time was a bumblebee on the forehead and the second time was a honey bee on the ankle.

Fuck em all.

*Fuck you Bees (South Park Japanese fuck you whale parody)

What if "Nope" itself is a clue!?

Bees are bros, yes. And wasps are dicks, true. But nature's truest asshole is the Hornet.

All the attitude of a wasp, but with a sting that's as thick as a pencil and a take no prisoners attitude.

Nope as in nope? And the Bees have "evolved" into Hornets?

I recall being very into the whole "bees" thing back in the day.

Then the whole thing turned out to be very disappointing... As did Halo 2.

Honestly, I'm too skeptical about how the next Halo is going to turn out to get invested in an ARG about it.
