La Mulana looks a bit too...difficult. I barely managed to finish Valdis Story so if this game is any harder then it's a big no-no for me.

I really have a love/hate with games like Valdis Story. I swore that genre off in the NES/SNES days because of gamepads getting broken in half or thrown at the console and/or TV. I'm still going to give it a go through and try not to break anything

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I'm confused by conflicting messages and posts across various websites. Does Hitman: Absolution - Professional Edition come with the Sniper Challenge or not?

Sadly, it does not.

I dislike La Mulana. Bought on hype, found it archaic and un-fun.

Spelunky scratches almost the same itch far, far better.

Never played Silent Assassin or Contracts. How do they compare to Blood Money? Which of the two is better?

Edit: also any recommended Blood Money mods?

I just got the regular and all the DLC separately. I got the Sniper Challenge that way.

Sadly, it does not.

SteamGAF confuses me too!

Sigh, I just want the Sniper Challenge. I don't even care about Absolution all that much (I already own it, unplayed, on PS3).

Edit: also any recommended Blood Money mods?

No mods, just character skins you can find on moddb.com and the like.

If you want it, buy the professional edition. Why are you confused? ;)

EDIT: It seems that's the version I have. Sorry for the confusion I caused.

the "flying bundle" suggests that paying enough to get in the top 10 will get you the next bundle for free. it was only after i payed 5.02 that i realized it's most likely the top 10 when the bundle ends. thats probably obvious to most people but didn't click with me until too late.

that 2 dollars extra i paid could have gotten me halfway to another bundle dammit!

It seems I'm only one not disappointed with new HB. Audiobooks are very welcome too, especially those I don't have!

probably a dumb question because i'm sure it would say if so, but does it come with actual book versions too, or just audio books? i'd probably buy it if it included the books but have no interest in listening to them

I was playing MGRR and suddenly FPS dropped to 5 fps and the computer shut itself down. Overheated? Logs show nothing

Happens a lot to me, and not to MGR, even Fairy Bloom Freesia has some drops and the computer shuts off o_O

Also, when playing Borderlands when changing from zone to zone sometimes it also shuts down.

It's just audio, mp3 format

Y'know, I thought that until I started playing Dark Souls a few days ago.

Best cup of tea ever.

I'm still on the fence. I'm not sure what to expect gameplay wise. I get that it's really hard and brutal difficulty wise, but somewhere I have this nagging feeling it's super grindy.

RAM? Just had a similar issue (sans the frame rate drop). Does it happen with any other games?

Maybe the second time I have seen it and the first time was loooong ago. I am using a laptop and it does run SUPER hot but dunno. Hopefully it doesn't start to do it very often, if it does yeah I'll run memtest first. I got 6GB's of it so at least it was not a case of running out.

*Gravelord Nito has been summoned*

Game isnt that hard and it's not grindy. (Unless you wanna play it like that) The game punishes you for doing mistakes therefore gives you a lesson on how to play with defense instead of rushing out on all enemies. Watch patterns for openings and if its too hard you can always summon people to help you beat some hard areas. Gameplay its pretty easy to grasp its a matter of applying the rolls, riposte and blocking properly. Once you get the hang of the game you will be slaying tons of stuff and IMO as you progress you will see what once seemed too hard or almost impossible being doable thanks to the previous experience on the game. It's pretty rewarding to overcome the challenges the game gives you at first but once you do the first run you will do fine on the other runs for most of the part.

I bought Hitman Absolution Professional edition on retail so I didn´t get Sniper Challenge. I found it later on g2play, yes one of those shady sites. It is only 0,49e there. I thought it was safe because it doesn't give you Steam key but a key you redeem on http://www.hitmansniper.com which then gives you a Steam key. I would never buy real Steam keys on those sites.

Thanks for the info (even though I suspect my wallet is really gonna hate me before the day is over).

Is it fair to compare it to a game like Monster Hunter for example? The gameplay seems fairly similar since you really had to learn attack patterns of the monsters in order to beat them, which I really liked. MH has a terrible combat system (not really responsive) though which was my main frustration. That and the fact that I like games that give me lots of options to customize my playstyle through stats and whatnot.

Yeah...this literally sounds like Dark Souls.

Sounds fun to me.
Dark Souls is a difficult but, mostly, fair game.
La-mulana is a game that is purposefully as obtuse as possible, where even basic items are hidden in the most obscure ways imaginable.

Both games are really nothing alike.

I've put two and half hours into Spelunky, and I think I've said "Are you kidding me" at least 30 times, which gives it an AYKM?/minute ratio of 1:5. Which means, for my own sake, I'm going to stop playing Spelunky and erase all memory of it from my brain.

Also, last night I decided to spend my remaining Amazon bucks on new headphones instead of a new keyobard, and then proceeded to drop an entire cup of coffee on my keyboard this morning. - Thanks, Spelunky.

Dark Souls combat its way more polished and more responsive than MH and the adventure elements are great. They share the learn patterns of your enemies in order to beat them properly without much pain so I guess that might already look like a positive for you.

Dark Souls has stats which MH from what I remember does not have. The stats affect multiple things from the weapons you can use and their effectiveness, run speed, amount of equipable magic among some other things. You can also upgrade your weapons and armors and you have options on your character as you can see people go with magic builds, Strength builds and some mixed ones to mention a few. It's about how you distribute your points in your build.

Spelunky is one of those rare games that I really, really like but will probably not play ever again. I get it, and it is good, but I already have enough frustration in my life.

I have 5 hours in Spelunky and I've never made it past the mines, lol.

I found it in a bargain bucket for the Wii about 2 years ago for like €3 and am yet to even put the disc in the wii even once.

Whats wrong with me?

play the first half to see what the fuss was all about, but finishing it is really not required. Both the worst and the best part are at the end though. The ending itself is better than RE5's, but it's not a highlight.
