The scripts were great, David Ayer is mostly a really good director, Will Smith has made 2-3 bad movies in his entire career and Joel Edgerton was great in Midnight Special and Loving.

I'm hyped.

I wanna join you in your positive outlook but as someone who really loved Will Smith back in the day I just expect his next film to be anything but good just by the bad stretch of films he's been in. Just his last 2 films were god awful. David Ayer did End of Watch so he's clearly talented.

The only glimmer of hope I have here is for Joel Edgerton. If it has him in it how bad can it be ? Loved his directorial debut.

This trailer threw me for a loop. At first I thought it was a hood movie and was like "shit, I don't think I've ever seen Will in one" then saw the cop costume and thought, oh this must be another cop role and then I saw the sword and magic shit and said "hell yeah!". An urban fantasy with a black dude.

December is long off.

Ayer makes me wary after Suicide Squad, but it's not like he's never directed a good movie before and the premise alone has me hyped. Looking forward to it.

I always wanted a Shadowrun movie and this is properly the closest we get. The basic setting is great, if you want to talk about rascim without being to one the nose and make a more extreme case. There good people behind the project, so please don't fuck it up.

From the promotion material the story looks like to get into the direction of Zootopia. The ork guy being one of the first to join the police and has to fight through racism, since orcs are mainly seen as criminals (like in Shadowrun). I hope, it goes into a different direction from there.

This is really just Alien Nation (1988) with a fantasy skin.

happy to see so many results from a ctrl f Shadowrun

thing is, this actually probably could fit right in Shadowrun.... sort of around the 'awakening' (2010s) and early goblinization (early 2020s)

so before the world goes full cyberpunk but soon after elves, orcs, and shit start appearing
