I wonder how they will replace it? As long as they don't keep "the morning report" I don't thing its a big deal...

This may be an artistic decision, but most likely it's for commercial reasons.
They usually do this so they can write a couple of new songs, which qualifies them for Oscars and also juices soundtrack sales and so on.
