Interview with Mr Dyack: http://toohuman.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=214&Itemid=1

TH.net: The single player game is obviously story driven through a campaign mode, will the co-op mode require players to jump in at a checkpoint where the last game was played or will players always start from the beginning?

Dyack: It’s going to be more robust than that. Essentially, someone will start up a server and you can have your friends join you and pick the levels and the type of loot distribution that you want. You can play the game from beginning to end, or you might just want to jump in to a particular section because you are mining for a particular weapon. That’s the direction we are going in right now.

TH.net: Some readers have been concerned about the analog stick controls because it hasn’t been done well in the past. From the play time we had with the game it seemed as if a lot of the strategy is derived from knowing when to use ranged weapons, when to use swords, and how to mix both. That dynamic is very different from what we have seen in other games, and when you throw in air combat it gets even more tricky. Is it fair to say the controls have been made accessible, but there are some more variants in play than we have ever seen in a similar type of game?

Dyack: Yeah, that’s the whole idea. The tough part is that I don’t know of a game that is similar to what we are trying to do. Certainly if you look at it from a Diablo or a World of Warcraft perspective, really there is no comparison. Then if you look at it from a Devil May Cry or God of War perspective there is no comparison in the customization we are doing and the statistical roleplaying elements and the cooperative play. It’s a lot more complex than people think. You really have to know about double taps to juggle enemies or get them in the air, and that there are different types of combinations and different types of juggles for various classes and weapons and variants of those weapons, and then there’s going to be all of these different effects… I’m really interested to see how people receive it because we are really excited about the potential there.

E3 Co-op Marketplace demo please!

That second question isn't even an underhanded lob, it's holding the ball and walking to home plate, knocking it against the bat, and taking it back out the field pretending Dyack just hit a homerun.

I'm really looking foward to this , it could be the new diablo 2 .

I wish they would do a weekly or bi-weekly pod cast for it .

That... robot? design is hideous. Bad choice of colors.

The rest of the game looks pretty cool though. I just don't know what's taking so long to make it.

IT WAS GOING TO BE ON THE ****ING PS1

Diablo 2 wasn't in development for at least 8 years, probably more...

Is that a goblin?

It isn't as if this has been constantly in development for 10 years or whatever. It's like one of those "lifelong projects" that movie directors have where they shop it around and rewrite it and finally get it made.

Take into consideration, these robots are the standard low level enemies....the ones that come in dozens at a time. Normaly, it won't look amazing and shit

picture looks good.

So uhhh... am I the only one who likes the robot?

Nope it looks excellent. People bitching because it looks like it's made of metal or because it's shiny probably can't dress themselves without assistance.

Now that you mentioned it, it does look like Dog from HL2. It still looks cool.

Kudos on the co-op! I can't wait for that!

Robot looks fine to me....looks like a robot, what's the problem? Do people expect it look like a Gundam or something?

I don't get GAF's silly bitching about most stuff.....game seems to be shaping up nicely, although it's clearly a 2008 title now, I think everyone knows this.

I just hope the game doesn't try to be a jack of all trades but master of none because if not enough depth is put into each element they could feel tacky and needlessly added in. Balancing the game is very important and must be a nightmare to make sure everything blends well.

So what's it gonna be? Are we cleared to make new Too Human threads anytime we get new media now? (since the old thread got locked).

Anyway, nice robot. I assume that's a goblin.

That robot looks awesome, still looking forward to this game. The ideas they have for co-op are really cool, I just hope it works as well as it is being pitched.

I'm guessing we'll get word of a demo once or after a solid release date for Too Human is given. It'd make sense to only have that occur once there was a solid ship date behind the final product.

Agreed. I wouldn't expect a demo any time soon. I would love to be wrong though.

Wait, did we just go 40 posts in a Too Human thread without irrational Denis Dyack hate?

Haters be damned. Dyack will deliver.

Get this baby out Denis and start work on Eternal Darkness sequels.

Colours and shininess are good, but the robot looks emaciated. Someone feed it whatever cybergoblins eat. I'm going to feel a bit soft if one of those whups me - they're probably lightning fast or something.
