$100 3DS TV: Would you be interested?

You mean would I buy this?

Yeah man. In a heartbeat. Especially at $99.

...I wouldn't want this. Clipping on your iOS or Android device to the top of the screen sounds awful (even if it were to ever happen).

Considering 3DS's weak hardware/resolution for games no. It's be like playing a GBA game on screen like with GameCube no fanks

Nah i'd rather get an xl, i wouldn't want to play 3ds games on my tv anyways just want to play in bed/on the bus

I don't care about the graphics. NES, SNES, Playstation, N64, PS2, all the graphics on those seem fine still to me. This wouldn't be any worse.

Nope, I dunno why people around here like the idea so much, but I prefer my 3DS mainly for portability, I don't need to play it on a TV

Wouldn't make any sense. Nintendo has none of the media subsidiaries--not to mention none of the online infrastructure--to make this viable. I wouldn't see the point. Makes sense for Sony, but not for Nintendo.

It would have the same functionality as the VitaTV, play 3DS, DS, and GBA games on your TV, as well as streaming your Wii U to another TV in the house...

Thoughts? My only reservation would be how shitty games would look on an HDTV, but hey, people still enjoy PSP and PS1 games on their PS3 right?

Since when could we play PSP games on our PS3s?

Are you talking about MHP3 HD?

Nope, if I'm buying handheld games is because I like to play handheld games and I like to play them on handhelds. If I want to play games on my tv I'll get console games. They're quite different types of games for me, totally different experiences, specially comparing Nintendo handhelds with everything else.

Nope. 3DS has great games for a portable system but they're just that, portable games. Nice bite-sized pieces of time consumption designed to be enjoyed on the go. There's no point in going on the big screen, as they would not look good or even gain anything for the experience from being on a big screen/comfy couch environment at all. And if I had a WiiU, I don't need another device for remote play in another room, isn't that what the tablet controller is for? Nintendo is also the worst of the big 3 for their dedicated 3rd party video streaming apps in my experience... Then you throw in how draconian their DRM system is of locking down games to one device and ROM price gouging/forced rebuys... yeah this is the worst fit possible.

I'd love remote play of WiiU on a 3DS though (can even use both screens with the touch as the tablet screen), which shouldn't be too bad considering massive resolution reduction.

if it has a built in upscaler. but still. ew gross. it would have been fine during the SDTV era.

The idea of this made me throw up in my mouth a little....shitty ds graphics blown up to 1080p seems like nightmare fuel.

I kinda feel bad for you guys. Using words like "gross", and puking over the thought of this. I guess that's why they invented the phrase "sucks to be you".

That's called a Gamecube. It already exists. It's 2013. I aint paying $100 for a Gamecube.

Kinda feel bad for you too. I mean it would be awesome if a Gamecube could do all that...but you're obviously thinking of something else or just mis-remembering what a Gamecube actually is.

Anyways, yeah, I'd buy something like that.

No. Then again, I'm not interested in Vita TV either. I think the point of handhelds is to play them away from the TV, even in the house.

Nope. Without 3D I have no interest in playing 3DS games.

Also, I'd much rather play them on a handheld. But also take the 3D away and introduce upscaling artifacts? I'd run for the hills.

I grew up in the 80's and 90's so I dont care if "teh graphics aren't teh splendors". I can enjoy a game for its gameplay without having to beat off to graphics. If I could play games like Pokemon Platinum, Culdcept DS, Golden Sun, Kid Icarus Uprising, Nano Assault, Bangai o, or any of the other DS/3DS titles I frequent heavily on my television I WOULD.

TV mode is always a good option to have. I played GBA games that way thanks to my Gamecube's GBA adaptor and I honestly dont remember hearing folks bitching about the experience when they talked about there own time with the device. To each there own though. Some folks just enjoy staring at tiny screens I guess.

No because their OS is horrible lack of multitasking and having to sit through that damn load screen every time on your TV would cause me to toss a shoe at it.

It would have to have a really great upscaler for most of us.

Although, I don't see why Nintendo doesn't farm their 3DS offerings for quick "HD" versions ala PSP to PS3.

Think about it.

I would pre-order a Kid Icarus: Uprising HD for the Wii U. Especially if I could suddenly use the nunchuk and pointer in it.

Pilotwings Resort HD Edition? Sounds good to me. Add a few more events, add a first person view to the Wii Game Pad for some of the vehicles for taking pictures while flying around. Damn. Actually, that's probably a great idea. One person is flying the plane, the other is trying to get some pictures.

Oh.. they could also put out eShop spin offs from 3DS games for the Wii U. Think about the multi-player on Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. That could be a stand alone title on it's own.

A quick look at the library for the Nintendo DS reveals that there is a TON OF SHIT THEY CAN DO with the Wii U Game Pad that they aren't doing. Look at Trauma Center, Cooking Mama, Kirby's Canvas Curse, Etrian Odyssey, Trace Memory, the Professor Layton series, All of those Picross/Sudoku games, Even things like Yoshi's Touch & Go or Jam With The Band would have interesting applications on the Wii U. Where is my Meteos Universe? PiCTOBiTS U? Dillon's Rolling Western U? The Wii U is a DS/3DS system where the top screen is your HD TV and the bottom screen is in your hands. START TREATING IT LIKE ONE, NINTENDO.

So, would I like a $100 3DS TV? I think I would give it a try; but if Nintendo wants to put the DS/3DS experience onto TVs, there is a much better way to do it and that way is called The Wii U.

Jesus christ no, the games would look abysmal not counting a few pixel art games and you'd need a wii u gamepad for touch controls and gyro.

No, for the same reasons I'm not interested in the Vita TV thing. Just have no use for it at all.

It might be a cool novelty for collectors and stuff, but it would not replace the handheld. I feel tha same way about the Vita TV. I think you're better off getting a real Vita.

With a 3DS TV, you would need a Wii U GamePad or some similar controller to get all the touch and motion controls. It would just be an alternative for some games for the collectors/hardcore gamers.

No because their OS is horrible lack of multitasking and having to sit through that damn load screen every time on your TV would cause me to toss a shoe at it.

You know that "Day With Playstation" ad? Someone should do a "Day With Nintendo" ad, and 23 hours of it are spent waiting for the OS to load.

Nope wouldn't want it at all. I don't want more plugged into my tv then I need. However if a wii u submodel came with that feature then that would be a different story. But I dont want to see companies competing with itself for my tv space.

I'd be interested if they just made a VC machine and ramped up the releases from NES to Cube (including handhelds)

It'd have to be account based though.

Awful low res blown up on one hand... playing Kid Icarus Uprising with a real controller and Shin Megami Tensei IV with the music blaring out of nice huge stereo speakers on the other. I must do more soul searching.
