14 Minutes of Star Fox Zero with Audio (Off-Screen)

I love the low-poly geometry. Shaders look improved from the last time I saw it but could be wrong. However it looks a bit dull. Not sure if I could enjoy an on-rails game again. Shooting at things also feels weak and unsatisfying. Music is too loud.

Nintendo would be stupid to create another demo instead of polishing the final game. This is the E3 demo, I'm pretty sure.

I have a hard time believing it's actually going to release this year. The game still looks on the early side.

But take as long as you need, Nintendo. I don't want another turd like Star Fox Assault.

I mentioned this in the E3 thread, but yeah, the demo was very underwhelming. The motion controls seemed unintuitive to most people who played it, which is a shame because they work so well for Splatoon. The guy ahead of me failed the Corneria level because he was having so much trouble with it. Disabling gyro controls will probably just make the game too easy considering how sparse it is.

I know people will hate me for this. but this is like the worst Nintendo game I have seen.

It look more like an indie game more than anything. horrible PS2 level quality graphics " sorry for even dissing you ps2, you had better looking games than this"

Horrible animation. The transformation from the jet to a drunken duck is just as bad, slow sense of speed. I think birds fly faster than that.

This is coming from someone who owns Nintendo consoles till this day since the GameCube, and from someone who think the WII U games available right now are way better than PS4 and xbox one games combined.

But this ? I wish they cancel it at least just so Nintendo can maintain the high quality products they are known for.

Because other games sold by them this gen like Kirby and DK have been budget, they also end up being some of the better ones. "Hur"

Sorry, didn't realize you were being genuine. As I'm sure you know the "so this game is going to cost x" is a very common drive by shit post in these parts.

It's 59.99 as far as I'm aware.

I'd be surprised if it was more than €39.99. The only recent game that is €59.99 is Devil's Third... You can guess why.

I get the complaints about the visuals but honestly this looks really fun to me. I can't wait to play it. I think it looks very clean and there's something nice about that. As a huge fan of SF64 it seems right up my alley.

Looks like fun...remembered the first time playing StarFox on N64...was such a blast. Love the feel and look of this series so much.

I'm pretty certain it was the same demo as the one they used for Japanexpo,
so yeah it's the e3 demo alright.
The 1rst level have potential but they need to rehaul or ditch the on rail section, they're the worst part

Pfahahah, DT is going to bomb so hard!

I agree that this game needs ALOT of work done but theres no reason to cancel it outright. There are quite a few Nintendo games that have bad or middling metascores.

Impressions like these make me nervous =S In what ways do the controls differ from Splatoon?

Looks like a game that needs to be delayed a couple months, at least. Can't say I'm happy that they decided to remake SF64 Corneria yet again, but the game still has potential.

Looks slow, empty and uninspired. What is Platinum doing on this title because it doesn't feel like them at all.

I wish I didn't have to quote this, but unfortunately this is exactly how I feel as well about the game in its current state.

The gameplay needs to be sped up and we need more of that patented Platinum over-the-top action. Let's hope this game won't disappoint because Nintendo simply decided to play it too safe in its design.

Looks great to me. I can get some of the critics but overall I think this will be an excellent entry in the series. It returns to the roots of Star Fox (which is shooting on rails), with a point system and an approach to the levels themselves that guarantees an arcade spirit and replayability, and a fresh control scheme that seems to be incredibly fun and unlimited once mastered.

I don't really understand the complains about the game's speed. It may be a bit slower than Star Fox 64, but to be honest I can't tell for sure (and I've spend hundreds of hours playing and replaying SF64 in both N64 an N3DS). Just to be curious, those who find the gameplay slow, flat and boring, do think the same of this other stage of the demo? (minute 13:30)

The only thing I'm not completely happy with is the recycling of enemies, landscapes and situations from SF64. However, from what I've seen that's something disturbing only in the Corneria mission, which truly seems to be an homage. From the other 3 levels that have been showed, the Zoness mission is completely reimagined (now it's an infiltration mission in a base using the new helicopter vehicle), another one is Titania, which takes some inspiration in the original but seems spectacular and renewed (with lots of new and exciting enemies, traps, a great atmosphere...) and the final one is in fact a completely new landscape, which is a space colony called Area 3 where the Star Fox has to retrieve a giant monkey robot from Andross's army.

Another thing I'm absolutely happy with are bosses, which look very "Platinum": the two that have been shown (the flying fortress and the sand worm) are both pretty big, shiny and spectacular.

We'll have to wait and see, but I'm pretty excited with this new entry and I feel it can be something bigger than people around here do think. It sure needs a bit more of polishing in the graphics, but gameplay-wise it promises to be a real bomb.

Because Hajime Hirasawa left Nintendo and founded his own company.

So? It's not like no one is able to replicate that same style.

They have been replicating the SF64 soundtrack for almost 20 years now and they have done a fine job (replicating, not melodic-wise).

Besides, Smash Bros has done a great job remixing/remastering Star Fox (SNES) music, they could do the same for a new Star Fox.

Anyway, I'm just pissed that Star Fox will never rise to the heights of the SNES soundtrack and the action/voices of the N64 version.

I'm not going to argue with you on that. SNES Star Fox OST is leagues beyond the rest of the series. They should at least remix a few of the original melodies. They did in Smash, so it doesn't seem like the rights are a major issue.

meh, looks too much like a lazy rehash to me, not a true Platinum game, but mostly Nintendo with a bit of help, also story wise another remake, especially after Star Fox 3DS.

At least make it interesting with a some twists, maybe Andross surviving the final battle, or something like that,

gameplay and graphics wise it looks a bit outdated but should be fun.
