It's animation, it has to do with the work behind it and fluidity and movement. Not just some glitches. I assume that no game could ever win this award according to your ruleset because no game is glitch-free.

Very, very interesting that PSABR won fighting GOTY ... wonder how the competitive scene will react to that. I mean, I really enjoy the game and I love what it represents but I feel like it fell short of what it should have been, i.e. better roster, better unlockables and a better focus on the breadth of Sony's exclusive and or wholly owned IPs. It ended up feeling like a half-hearted (or half funded) mascot brawler that didn't even have any iconic Playstation mascots. Most characters were current gen and as much as I enjoy them, are forgettable or not as known as Crash, Spyro, Cloud, Solid Snake, etc. Instead we got two Coles, Heihachi, Big Daddy, Nariko, new Dante, and so on.
? It's one of the best written stories in recent gaming history.
The only awards I question is the fighting goty and download goty. Nothing against all stars, I just think VF5 deserved it more.
Otherwise congrats to the winners, well deserved.
IMO you were robbed by not even being nominated for best download game or best animation. Really have enjoyed your game. =)

DICE is voted by video game developers, not video game reviewers. So how a game is received doesn't matter really as it doesn't have to be consistent.
Journey deserves it. DICE gets it.

I'd rather play the handheld that has the most GOTY nominated games, not the one that has the GOTY (if the two are exclusive).
And Hero Academy getting mobile GOTY is a bit of a crock of shit. There are far better games that don't rely on IAP in the slightest that take a dump all over that glorified chess game.
Had to find some way to squeeze an extra Journey win in there.

I'm more irritated that Guild Wars 2 was shoehorned into sharing a category with Mass Effect 3 when it seems like they created a ton of categories for everything else. ME3 is almost guaranteed to win amongst a panel of panel of pretentious industry insiders with an axe to grind for the hate it received from players. It's meant to be a middle finger to gamers.

I don't understand.
Even being nominated for "Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay" is suspicious given how rough things were initially, how rough they continue to be, and how their only 'achievement' is implementing a real money AH.

No, but they do have to submit their game for consideration. There's a fee associated with doing that for this award, so the developer of that game may not have felt it was worth it.
I'm surprised at this as well. I though either of the Vita games would take it.

Journey is the type of game all developers wish they were free to make.
I don't doubt Lee deserved best performance, but wow, Vaas in Far Cry 3.
Also I don't play fighting games and know that All-Stars probably didn't deserve that.
