Am I the only one that think The Usual Suspect is overrated?
It's an ok movie, but apart from the (predictable) plot twit there isn't much more.

I thought the same and my Dad nearly disowned me. I think it's because by the time I saw it the idea of a twist in a film wasn't anything mind-blowing.

I think that Adult Swim has a show on it called Clerks based on the movie (which I never saw) but I can just tell.

I did a thread like this once except it was for 1999. I'll just copy/paste my list from there:

The Matrix
Three Kings
Fight Club
Office Space
South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut
Being John Malkovich
American Beauty
The Green Mile
The Sixth Sense
The Talented Mr. Ripley
(Anticipation for) The Phantom Menace
The Blair Witch Project (yeah yeah, it was creepy when i saw it in the theater)
Princess Mononoke (US release)
Man on the Moon
American Pie
Run Lola Run (US release)
The Boondock Saints

Honorable Mentions: Cruel Intentions, Analyze This

A few that I haven't seen but have heard great things about:
The Insider
Magnolia
Eyes Wide Shut
Toy Story 2

1999 represent, what what.

Nicholas Cage is a great actor who picks shitty movies most of the time.

Anyway, carry on; I just need to make that point because I will defend Cage's talent (not his choice of roles) to the end.
as will I.
