1CC Marathon happening right now on Twitch

Would highly recommend watching the Warrior Blade: Rastan Saga III run. Really awesome.

Also a lot of these guys stream arcade and random obscure stuff often - all great streamers if you're digging this marathon.

The state of awareness of arcade games in general is such a weird thing for me.

There are people, a lot of people, that Capcom are the Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and SFIV+ people. Maybe they recall Mega Man or whatever fondly, but just barely any awareness of their (and many other devs) arcade output. Even Street Fighter II is more of a SNES thing for a lot of people.

Don't mind me, don't have a point to make over here or anything, it just occurs to me from time to time.

Hey, you remember that one time in history class when Lancelot totally fucked up that Muramasa demon in feudal Japan?

I know a lot know me as the SNK guy but over time I've come to really REALLY like Capcom's arcade output; CPS>Neo Geo any day for me.

Capcom definitely made the best beat-em-ups... by a fucking mile, really. And they had a lot more variety in their output. When it comes to fighting games, though, I'd have to go with SNK overall. I'm primarily thinking of stuff like Last Blade when I say that.

If you remove Metal Slug and KoF I bet the number of people who follow games closely and can't name an SNK game is quite high.

It is just crazy how quickly this stuff is vanishing from the general consciousness. To be clear, I'm not trying to say shame on them or anything, it just blows my mind.

And Metal Slug isn't even entirely SNK, but you know what I mean.

I loved Metamorphic Force, managed to 1CC the Japanese version. I like to try to 1CC Bucky o Hare as well and that's a really good game, not as good as the NES one but still worth it.

That kinda sounds like Information Creep to me @o@

Final two games. It's been a great marathon for sure - gotten me interested in trying a lot of games (Shinobi, Nitro Ball, Nam 1975, Mercs...).

All that's left now is NARC, which should be....interesting, and Ghosts 'n Goblins, which should be some hardcore shit.

Interesting strat, build up extra lives in the stages where busts are easy to gather, speedrun the rest of the game. Narc is as infuriatingly unfair as I remember.
