Clara's ark really needs to end soon, she has no mystery anymore.

CGI city looks like it's based on the Skaro city from the first Dalek episodes:

So can't wait. Love the show. I was skeptical but was willing to give Capaldi a chance and he fucking nailed it. So I can't wait to see where they go this season.

yeah Clara feels so played out. She really detracted from my enjoyment of the last season. Especially anything involving that basura relationship with danny pink

A shame since capaldi showed he has the potential to easily be the best of all the new doctors

She had a great storyline in Series 7 but once we found out about her it kinda went downhill, she a had a few good moments in Series 8 like Flatline which started to develop the character in a interesting way but I found the episode itself uninteresting.

how was series 8? I'm waiting for it to show up on Netflix.

It's my second favourite series after series 5. It's not without its clunkers (IMO episodes 5 and 10 are no good), but Capaldi/Coleman-chemistry is amazing, character work is good and with some real high highs.

About the trailer: Looks great! Even disregarding the cinematic aspect ratio that obviously won't be there for the final episodes this looks really well shot. Starts later than expected, but we'll just have to wait. Hopefully this means they'll have lots of time to work on CG. The footage here already looks promising in that area.

Can't wait, it of course looked pretty amazing. Way better trailer then the one they used last year. Hope this season is wild, it looks wild.

Looks great! Not really a fan of Maisie Williams, but that's not really that big of a deal. I need to watch the last series again, as I don't remember a lot of it.

Amusing to see lots of "Series 8 was the best since series 5!". That says more about series 6 and 7 though. I think most fans will admit series 8 was still very hit-or-miss.

THAT SAID Trailer looks great, the visuals look fantastic in parts, interesting to see if Missy really is teaming up with the Doctor as it looks like. I like the look of the eyeless people, wonder if that's from Gatiss's episode.

I reckon Maisie Williams is playing someone we see in various guises throughout the series... at least that's the best explanation I can come up with thus far.

Oh, and Clara should have left at the end of the last series, sorry. I like her but she's in danger of outstaying her welcome, and if she gets one more stupid plotline where she's oh so important to the Doctor I may scream.

Impossible girl not dead. Boooooooooooo

Missy is back Booooooooooooooooooooo

Doctor rocking out to save the day?

I'll buy that for a dollar.

????
She was the only legit good thing last season apart from Capaldi =/

I'll agree on Clara though, absolutely sick of her.
Boooooooooo

Very hit and miss, erring more on miss for me.

8 was the best series since *4*.

Which tells you what I think of Matt Smith.

Can't argue with that either, hated Matt Smith.

Hm interesting, a return to classic Skaro.

Also, could Maisie Williams be an old character? Susan perhaps?

If that really is supposed to resemble Hartnell-era Skaro...oh man I am so hyped

Not even going to fall into the
Susan
trap again, but it'd be cool.

I could do without Clara, but Capaldi's Doctor resonated with me on such a level that I could see him watch paint dry for forty minutes and still be entertained.

I hate to be part of the crowd, but I'm over Clara too. I actually quite enjoyed her with Smith, but didn't like her in the last season at all. Really disliked the Danny stuff.

It's such a minor complaint though didn't ruin the season at all. I'm surprised at how quickly I've fallen for Capaldi's take too. SO EXCITED.

I'm a little mixed because you raise a good point, but I think Clara got bogged down by the Danny stuff. She's a great foil for Capaldi; better than she was for Smith, and their interactions are the highlights of Season 8 for me. Can't wait to see them together again.

But all the Danny stuff while acceptable, did make her the focus more often than necessary. She's not Rose or even Amy levels of Mary Sue yet, but they're stretching her a bit thin, I agree.

99.999999% sure this is wrong but what if Maisie Williams is..

The doctors daughter after a regeneration!

I would love nothing more.

Naaaah. Moffat ain't touching that shit. Apart from the 50th, he's all about avoiding the RTD era. He seems to want to relive the Hartnell era, which is why
Susan
makes a tiny bit more sen.

They have to keep Clara on until they finally conclude the arc of her becoming a thrill-addicted, selfish version of the Doctor. They build it up for three episodes only to have a red herring tease in the finale preview. Gawd damn Pink trampling all over her character development.

I was recently rewatching series 5 recently and I find it really weird that the writers in that series seemed to try pretty hard to keep the RTD era in mind (Amy not remembering the Daleks is a plot point), but subsequently the only thing they've kept is the designs for the Daleks and the Cybermen.

This is mainly because I have either nostalgia or love for the RTD era.

Wasnt Moffat the one who asked RTD to keep her alive in the first place? Could mean nothing but the idea is always out there!

Ooh you edgy customer.

Series 4 was shit.

Yeah, no.

I don't know what's "edgy" about hating Matt Smith's Doctor or the nonsense that prevailed through his run. Unless you think I only feel that way to impress some imaginary population that finds Doctor Who "cool" but only *specific* Doctor Who.

Things happened and I missed the entire last half of Series 8 and I'm still waiting for it to pop up on Netflix, but I had to indulge and watch this. Love the hair :p
