Interesting.....You guys shot some of the outdoor footage like a block away from my work. I'll have to keep an eye out for the 1Up crew :)

Yeah I eventually noticed that, I don't know if it's my monitor or the smaller version I downloaded or what, but it's hard to get a clear shot of it

Yeah, I remember reading the demo will be coming out this month. I am excited to give it a shot, but hopefully it actually makes it out. I'm still waiting for the outfit demo to see if I'll like it enough to buy The Outfit when it's released.

Looks like I'm gonna have to play BFMC 360 for its single-player and pwn the rest of you fucks on GRAW.
 
Great Show! Battlefield 2, Okami, Metroid. All amazing looking games.

The Darkness, PS3 games in the next OPM? Cant wait!

Very little to nothing was shown, just a few passes of difficult to make-out screenshots. It was really just a teaser and more of an advertisement for this month's OPM. They did say the article is great though, a full 8 pages, and that they saw it running on a real life PS3 devkit! But ya, not too much on the game.


As for the episode in general, really fantastic stuff. Great game coverage, and great footage. Okami looks gorgeous but I'm worried about the gameplay, the whole brush stroke system doesn't sit well with me. It's like, running and jumping action PAUSE brush brush brush UNPAUSE running and jump PAUSE.. etc really breaks up the gameplay and lacks flow. Stranglehold looks awesome, and BF:MC definitely looks more interesting now. The Tourist Trophy footage was great (especially the handlebar view) but the person playing it sucked!

Oh, and as for the thing at the end I think it was unnecessary. So much of the last episode was devoted to Che's leaving, after that it should be about moving on with fun and happiness.

Of course, they need their ads to make more episodes. Just don't remember 1up show having ads.
 
If Mercenaries 2 has multiplayer I won't even bother with Battlefield much. Did I miss the Oblivion episode or something?

That was a sad ending...that makes three in a row.

All in all, it was a great episode. I miss Che's presence, but they did a great job carrying on the show without him. I don't mind the ad at the beginning, it did show some nice gameplay elements. If it guarantees us that the episodes will keep on coming, I'd be fine 30 second ads every 10 minutes.
 
Good show.

Battlefield 2:MC looks like fun and Okami is just gorgeous.

I couldn't make out much of the Darkness but new PS3 screens are welcome so I'm looking forward to seeing it and the other games mentioned.
 
While I LOVE Okami's look, I too am worried about the painting interface. That's how all actions are performed in the game? Doesn't it...break the game up a lot?
 
Great episode. One of the best I've seen so far. Good coverage overall on a variety of games.

Not sure what to think about The Darkness. Didn't see enough of it in the episode. More of a teaser. It worked though because I need to pick up the mag now to read the story. I'm most interested to see how the PS3 compares to the X360 since EGM saw the game running off a PS3 dev kit. ;) I have to say BF2MC does look great on X360. If enough people grab it I may have to get it after all to play online. Metroid Prime Hunters really looks bleh to me. I keep on hearing on how it looks so good on the DS. Well the game enviroments look like a Doom II modification to me. At least the frame rate is smooth. Okami looks interesting, if not a little odd. I'll probably pick it up. I don't care for cycle games for Tourist Trophy doesn't interest me much.
 
Yeah, Metroid Prime Hunters just looks like shit to me. I hate to be an asshole, but everyone saying this looks great is full of crap (speaking purely about the graphics). :lol

Tourist Trophy looks pretty bad too. There's no originality to it. GT4 with bikes and more jaggies. It looks like it was originally planned to be integrated in GT4 (which would have been awesome).

Job well done integrating an OPM preview in the show. I'm definitely picking up the mag this month.

What a fucking cool episode.

Seriously, the whole Tourist Trophy segment was just badass. Very cool. I'd like to see more outdoors stuff like that...dunno exactly what else could you people do that'd be similiar to that, but eh. :P

Strangehold looks best when it's not in motion. The framerate seemed very jerky and the animation was not next-gen at all...I like how Chow Yun Fat is completely static when his guns fire(not). :P

Metroid Prime looked pretty good. If the single player is as good as MP on GC...then man I might have to shell out 150 bucks on a DS Lite. :\

:lol at the guy impersonating Milky. I guess I'm alone in this but I thought it was hilarious.

Props to the 1up team, much props. Need to get crackin' on finding a che-replacement, though.

Obviously. People are talking about DS standards, but it looks like crap today really. But then again, the game really isn't about the graphics now is it? Despite what Drinky says.
 
MP hunters looks great, for a DS game. It's not all that different when people praise PSP graphics. :P As far as I'm concerned it's a battle between ugly 3d and uglier 3d.
 
My main problem with Hunters is that all the 3D textures mix together in one huge blocky mess. It literally hurt my eyes to see all those big blocky textures moving around on screen.

OMG 1up show steals programming ideas from GAF!!

Anyways, good show :D. Metroid looked fun... very smooth and lots of action. The motorcycle segment was neat, too. I expected some sort of slow-mo glamour shot when Milky was taking off the helmet :lol ...

This is what I think too. The graphics are detailed and fast-moving, but that might not actually be a good idea for the DS.

well at least milky saved the ep from being a total wash...

stranglehold gives me that 'black' vibe... (that is not a compliment)

hunters i assume looks better when its not blown up to that size...

okami looks nice...
 
BTW, just wanted to point out the trend... everyone seems to enjoy the show when its at least 1/2 next gen stuff. Make it happen :P

That show had a great selection of games

BF:MC : the game looks great and seems fun too. Like they stated, more shooting galore/arcadish than an simple PC port, which is, IMO, more suited for consoles.

Okami: Everything seems awesome execpt for thoses ink drawing pauses.
This game is begin for a DS port!

MPH: Obvisouly, the game is going to look great, considering the screensize of the DS, but every information showed so far shows that this game is a FPS portable gem(the first!).

Great show. I know its been said, but this stuff is better than practically everything on G4. Hope you guys get paid enough to keep it going.

Metroid has low detail, but I was really impressed with the draw distance and speed of gameplay. StrangleHold looked awesome. Battlefield looked very action oriented...great for consoles. Almost every game shown looked good

But Tourist Trophy almost put me to sleep. Nothing about it looked exciting and the sense of speed seemed really poor. Focus on GT5 guys :p
