Luke was making the point about Halo, when it's really Grand Theft Auto, but perhaps he was speaking in strict terms of exclusives. But Metal Gear? Come on. Not even in the same ballpark, at least not on this side of the globe.
That said...
I totally enjoyed the 1up podcasts this week. They were new to me, I had never listened before, but these were great and were really the highlight of this year's E3 coverage. I'll certainly be listening in the future.

Zelda and Halo are examples of games that people buy the console to play. There are people who own an Xbox and a Gamecube simply to play those games.
One could infur that FF7 and MGS2 both made sales for the PlayStation brand yet not every person who saw the FF7 television commercial and thought HOLY SHIT PSX actually played FF7 and MGS2 not only took the wind out of the Dreamcast's sails, but also sold the console to people who were not MGS fans and never played teh game.
Influential IPs are pretty amazing in the industry. I hope we see a few fresh one's pop up in the next year or two.

Awesome show. It was alot of fun to listen to. The booze was flowing fo sho throughout the show.

I really dig 1up Yours, more than 1up show probably, and this last one was pretty good although it had its ups and downs.
The best thing about 1up Yours is when there's just Luke, Shane and Garnett (and well, guess they can bring an interest guest as well
). The 1up show crew wasn't really that fun to listen to if I'm to be honest, they didn't seem to care much.
One thing I dislike about 1up Yours though is when they have lots of people talking at the same time and they just keep going and you can't hear shit. Also, when they stray too far from gaming-related stuff I kinda lose interest. But other than that, I like it a lot. Keep it up, guys!
