UL's season ends with a 3-1 loss

It sucks to lose, but it sucks worse to lose the way UL has. Today, up 1-0 in the 2nd, UNC ties it up with two outs, then hits a slow grounder to third Mingo throws away that should have been the final out, the difference in the game - 2 unearned runs. Similar to 3 unearned runs up 6 on Rice after a muffed double play ball. But oh well, we had a good run and finished in the top 6 in the country, something no one expected from a program never to win a single NCAA game before this year.

Oregon State is weird.

They were great in OOC play and then struggled for a lot of Pac-10 play and in Omaha they've gone back to their early season success. If they repeat I don't think I can bear (pun intended) to have ANOTHER powerhouse program in the conference making sure UCLA stays irrelevant.

I don't want to sound like a pompous jackass but we let that one go. Jarvis' performance on the mound in the 8th killed us. We had the game under control and simply ****ed it up. I give props to UCI for making it this far but I'm all but certain that Oregon State will be in the Championship. Unless UCI has players who just don't get worn out I can't imagine them beating OSU 2 times in a row.

Who knows what next year will bring, like most other great programs our entire starting 9 have been drafted.

Go Beavers! hope you go back to back and bring it home for the Pac. You're playing great ball right now.

Too bad the Anteaters lost. Haven't heard much about the game - but UL and UC Irvine led the CWS in errors, and it definitely directly contributed to UL losing to Rice and UNC. It's sad when you lose like that because all you had to do was pull some simple plays are you are in good shape to win.

Oh well, I guess the title game will be some snoozefest OSU vs. Rice/UNC game now.

They tumbled in conference, which is to be expected since the Pac-10 is the bestest baseball conference ON THE PLANET. Stanford or SC would've won all these other JV "conferences", easily.

I saw some team in one round, I think I commented on this already, who won their conference with the same overall record as USC. The Pac 10 is just an incredibly deep and tough conference for baseball.
