There's a reason why Holland have swamped the midfield and decided to just kick this Spanish team to death: no one can move the ball around and retain possession like Spain.

I know why they've swamped the midfield - but so have Spain against every side. Yes Inesta and Xavi have fantastic ball retention and ball use but are Busquets and Alonso necessary? Are they good enough to keep out Fabregas, Silva, Torres?

Yeah, that's quite possible. It was 6 years ago, I don't really remember the match that well. It stands out though because it was SO incomparably boring. Fuck You Greece

Gimme a break, Kung-Fu kick to the chest and at least two players who would have been sent off in the first half if this was any other game goes beyond normal physical play. The irony is the final is supposed to be a showcase for fair play but players are more likely to be thugs because they know the ref has been advised to be lenient on red cards.
