He played good but the occasion he failed to score ( especially the first one ) cost Holland the cup.
No doubt about that.
 
You got feel for ref , the game was hard for him but i think he did good job .
Hard to play good football when NED were fouling like crazy , they lucky there not down to 9 or 8 men .

Netherlands have been dirty throughout, but it finally caught up to them. They are masters of roughing everyone up and not getting called and diving.

It's funny how the Spanish players stopped accepting their insincere apologies late in the match. :lol "Don't give me your hand! Howabout you stop throwing me to the ground instead?!"

Yeah, Forlan was the only player that I expected to score off a free kick. Everyone else would just sail. Without him, Uruguay would have been lost.

The only thing I can think of for offside is when the chip is initially played Iniesta is offside - the ball then breaks to Fabregas who slides Iniesta in, who is now onside, to score.

Basically this. I am definitely not going to invest as much time in four years watching all the games. This world cup was worse than the worst parts of 2002 and 2006 combined.

The only good thing about it is that an 8th team won the world cup. Congrats Spain.

It's like this all across the board, though. In every single domestic league in the world. If it is FIFA to blame, then I really have to wonder why they are resistant to progress. Many of these bitch fights would be forgotten if something as simple as video replay for certain goals or checking to see who the last man to touch the ball was, was instituted.

I love watching soccer, but I hate all of the inconsistency, especially when it comes to the sports biggest stage. Bad calls cheapen the entire validity and impact of the game.

In this match there was just one team playing soccer and that was Spain, they pretty much deserve the cup. Although it could've pretty much ended during the 2nd half.... they had waaaay too many chances to score the goal !

That was a helluva difficult game for the officials, sure maybe the ref made a few mistakes but that was gonna happen when the Dutch were kicking lumps of shit out of anything that moved.
The Dutch got what their tactics deserved in my opinion.
 
Not understanding the hating on the Ref, he had a good game overall, very difficult game to oversee. Don't think this world cup was by any means a bad one, maybe average? And no this wasn't a bad final, WAT NO GOWLS !!, just be glad it didn't go to penalties like in 2006, no way for a final to end.
 
Watched the final in a bar with overwhelming support for the Dutch team. After the goal only two celebrated, otherwise the place was silent.

Congrats Spain.
A great ending for the crazy month.

The second round and quarterfinals were by far the best this World Cup. Too bad it didn't carry into the semi-finals and final.

But overall with just a couple of exceptions, the Final matches have been dreadful the last 20 years. I don't understand why it's so hard to have an entertaining Final these days compared to earlier WCs....

Bullshit, the ref gave a yellow card to a Dutch player when he didn't even see it to call it an actual penalty.
