I think wade was saying that, for them as motivation, it was the wrong thing to use. Or it wasn't enough.

I don't think kobe's motivation is the hate of others, i think kobe's motivation is that he wants to be the best, to beat everyone. He may take some pleasure in others hate though.

Kobe is motivated to be the best. He always wanted to prove that he is better than whoever.

And how exactly is it stupid? He said they should've wanted to win for the sake of wining instead of trying to focus on spiting the haters. If anything he's owning up to having his head in the wrong place.

Why blame your loss on the source of your motivation, when there were plenty of observable reasons for the loss i.e. Bosh's D on Dirk, hell, most everyone's D on Dirk. Bron's disappearance and role players not playing their roles.

Having your head in the wrong place sounds like a cop out.


I agree that Kobe is driven by the fact that he wants to be the best, but there's no way that he'd ever say I was motivated by silencing "the haters" and that's why I lost.

To expand off what Giri said, maybe hate is the wrong motivation for them since they're concerned with having fun.

But then what would be sufficient motivation for them? If proving you're as good as you said you would be and shutting up those who doubted you is the wrong motivation then most champions had the wrong motivations.
 
In the old Pacific Coast League Vernon, CA.--which is basically a machine shop with a mayor like the City of Industry--had a team for a while because you could actually buy booze in Vernon at the time. The NBA should bring back Prohibition.

Except by making said comment he is claiming that the Mavs weren't the better team, rather the Heat simply lost because well, they were more focused on the hate than winning. It's a puss move.

Edit: And I just want to bring to everybody's attention that two days in a row I have received high praise from Giri regarding my trolling improvement. I feel like I've already won.
 
I think you can use hate the fuel a winner, the problem is all Wade and Bron do is talk. Talk about what they are going to do. How they are going to work on their games. How they are going to make everyone pay. How they are taking "mental notes". All because it sounds good coming out. Because it would make a good commercial. Bron, in particular, has no idea what to do with it. He's not crazy enough to let something like that fuel him. He'd rather just go back to his pad and hang out with his friends for a couple hours and let them tell him how awesome he is and how everyone is just a hater and then he'd feeling good again.

Shit is all fucked up now. If you are going to decertify you gotta do it from the start not in the middle...it's not a bargining tool.

Well at least after Saturday we will either have a season or a dead one and thus I can wash my hands of the whole thing.

This needs to be the end of this. Especially If the players are dumb enough to decertify this late in the game. That's a dead season (luckily it would go to a vote...but the superstars have a lot of leverage there...fuck).

You're right that if they decert, this seasons done. But the NBA isn't. There are too many millionaires wanting to stay that way, and too many soon to be millionaires in colleges wanting to become them.
