Horford out for possibly the rest of the season.

Wtf. That's terrible for a team starting off pretty damn well.

Apparently, there is a lot of tension in the Bulls locker room over what is happening with Boozer and Noah.

huh??? First I've heard of this. To be honest, those two never learned to complement each other on the court, only natural they wouldn't off court. Wonder what the Bulls do about that if anything, I'm sure Noah's the more liked locker room guy. It's funny they're both sitting on the bench to end games now considering the $ made between the two of them.

USELESS NUMBERS:

Top 8 in the east have a combined 15-11 (58%) against Western Conference teams. No Top 8 team has a better winning percentage out of conference, Pacers have yet to play a WC team and The Bulls record in and out of conference is identical (5-1).

Top 8 in the west have a combined 14-5 (74%) against Eastern teams. Only Top 8 teams who have a lower winning percentage out of conference are POR (2-1), LAL (1-1) and SAS (0-1).

Tiny sample size, super early in the season, I was just bored at work. REEEAAAALLL bored.

Did I miss something?

What is happening with Boozer and Noah?

Boozer is a cancer who would lie to a blind man, Noah hates Boozer because of Boozer's shitty defense forcing Noah to overhelp and get in foul trouble, Boozer and Noah are pissed because Thibs keeps benching them down the stretch (even though that's the right move since Gibson and Asik have been clearly better this season and were for most of last season as well)

Heat Clips game was interesting.

Through three quarters, the heat ran decent offensive sets. Bron ACTUALLY played in the mid / low post a few times also. Made a few decent moves to the basket out of it too. Tho, some plays that were called "post ups" by commentators weren't. But it looks like he might actually have a basic post game.

The new heat offense is interesting, in the way that everything is going towards the basket. It has done something interesting, late in games, and you saw it with the clippers a bit, and probably explains their 4th quarter struggle. Teams can just pack around the paint. Not in it, but you can certainly stand and extra step or two off your man.

It also has another consequence, LBJ and Wade, two guys who are rhythm shooters, also get less opportunities to get IN rhythm. So come late in the game, when people pack the paint on them, they're not "dialed in" from long range.

Though, the late 4th quarter offense, because of the above somewhat, other part just bad plays, absolutely stagnated. the final 5 heat possesions went Bosh iso 17ft out, 2 x LBJ ISo 3pt line out, wade iso, 3pt line, An LBJ down screen play that just wasn't finished by bron.

Caron Butler is going to be huge for the clippers, and i told you all. Damn Haters.

Deande Jordan showed signs last night that he can be tyson chandler good. And thats all he needs to be. There were a few sets where he just played great positional defense. If he really works on that, he'll earn his contract money.

Also, the inference that Chauncey is ruining CP3's plays, or taking anything away from his seems really absurd, particularly last night. In just about every instance he deferred to CP3.

The clippers offense is a horrible mess though. They really don't know what they're doing out there. And from some of the huddles, the players might have tuned out VDN already. Which is dangerous.

Yeah Boozer and Noah are probably upset about the 4th quarter benchings. Boozer doesn't deserve it IMO, he's been playing well lately. Noah on the other hand has just been awful.

Lebron and Wade shooting no 3s, almost, is actually hurting their offense. It's a stupid tactic.

Shooting too many 3 is bad, but so is not shooting enough. You need to keep people unsure of what you'll do. As giri said, teams just pack the paint in the 4th.

I was wondering why I was seeing Thibs playing Taj and Asik more down the stretch.

The situation is hilarious to say the least. Probably the best case scenario would be to amnesty Boozer whenever a more better SG/SF/PF becomes available.

The Bulls are probably the new 2006-2008 Pistons though. I don't see that team ever making the Finals with Boozer as their starting PF.

Asik wasn't better than Noah last season, not against starters. But this year, Noah is playing terribly, and isn't able to cover for Boozer. And Taj, whilst better defensively, wasn't better offensively than boozer. But this year, both are out playing the starter.

This is some of the worst ball i've ever seen noah play. He's just completely out of it. Not hustling, not scrapping, not competing 100%, not annoying his opponent. Which is what he does brilliantly, and how he's worth what he is.

Boozer's been inconsistent but he's had some really good games and he's actually trying on defense(he gets a steal here and there and a block but not as much), can't ask/expect much more from him.

Noah...................I think it's all mental, he'll be fine. The refs really got him out of a groove early on and maybe he compromises his game because of that somewhat but he's still banging with the big offensive players and making them work for everything they get or don't.

With such high energy and effort, not concerned about Noah.

He's really improved his freethrowing!!!!!!

Taj always seem to impact games, especially when his shot is falling but he's really strong offensively at the basket which he should do more of.

That's a horrendous oversimplification. While I'm sure there is some resentment towards Boozer, Noah is getting outworked and out rebounded by a lot of guys, and that has little do with Boozer. The issue is that they are trying to turn Noah into something he isn't, an offensive player. He got 10 points a game last year, by getting garbage points, and an occasional play run for him. Very few plays are being run for him, and the same goes for Boozer. Boozer just doesn't put in much effort (which is sad, because we've seen games where he has), and they don't encourage him to play in the post, as he tries, misses a few times, and then they stop feeding him the ball. Plus, Rose is terrible at the PNR, which Boozer thrives on.

This, Boozer is the typical scapegoat/easy target.

Noah's poor play is on him and him alone and he'd tell you that even if it didn't get back to Boozer.

You're probably right about Noah. Mentally he's a fragile guy. But if he doesn't improve his game soon expect more bench time. Thibs is experimenting more and more with different rotations which I like.

And yes Taj is doing well. He definitely needs to work on his shooting skills and his defense skills are a little too aggressive and foul-happy but otherwise he's great.

It highlights their need for Miller to be able to come back and play / defend the SF/SG spot, so the line up is Bosh, LBJ, Miller, Wade, Chalmers. But thats only if Miller can still shoot the 3. If he's not on... it really hurts them.

As i said, an interesting offense, it has certainly done good things for Chalmers, getting him lots of open looks.

But that's the thing. The Bulls' mission is to beat the Heat, and without a better offensive game, Taj just won't cut it.

Where are you seeing reports about the Bulls locker room tension?

Yeah, chicago need production from their front court in half court sets if they want to beat the heat. put the pressure on people to double and get cheap fouls.

That's why they got Rip.

He hasn't played enough to know how much he would matter in a series with the Heat but Taj is Taj and his offensive game is solid, if not spectacular.

He's easily the Bulls best offensive bigman though that's not saying much, he has legitimate skill and operates well around the basket.

I turned it off after they asked who was better, Duncan, or Bird.

Yes, there have been many videos of the '3D' Raptors logo.

ya that was a silly question haha. Also I know but it caught me by surprise I thought he was gonna hit it...

Has lebron ever had a serious injury? Not like that phantom elbow shit haha. I mean like serious. Bad ankle sprains kinda stuff. If no, is it because he's got great genetics and is simply too good an athlete to get hurt?

This whole locker room fiasco in Chicago is when you understand how good Phil was. Sure he'd bench a guy if he wasn't playing well, but he'd never insult his best players by benching them time and time again in an effort to win regular season games.

You have to learn to manage Ego's and the ceilings of Boozer and Noah are much higher than the ceilings of Gibson and Asik.

You don't bench your two better players simply because they're under-performing. You find ways to make them play better so that they reach their ceiling and so that they're content.

If Phil can successfully manage as tense of a situation as Kobe / Shaq for 5 years and get 4 finals trips out of it...Thibs should be able to manage Boozer / Noah...and he's doing a horrible job for the sake of a few regular season games.

Boozer could be amazing if he just showed better effort, and tried to play inside the post more. That's on the Bulls, though, because they usually don't give him the ball when he is in the post, and if they do, and he misses, then they just stop.

But Asik and Gibson are better than Noah and Boozer and Boozer is clearly never going to improve and is just going to get worse.
