Not this year, Rose is passing well.

Maybe not Sportscenter Casual well but effective nonetheless.

Rose isn't on the same level as Rubio and a few other guys as a passer. Why are you having a hard time understanding this? Rose's value is in his ability to score and run the team(which he does just as well as Rubio).

Even if we lose to the Raptors today, and we probably will, I'll take the moral victory of John Salmons and Travis Outlaw playing a combined total of less than 30 minutes.

Utterly fucking useless.

Because I watch the games and Derrick's distributing the ball very well.

Him outpointguarding Chris Paul that one night wasn't an exception, he's been consistent with his passing.

Turnovers will always plague him but he's not having a bad year with assists.

Too early to judge Rubio(yeah, yeah, my Ronnie Brewer "argument"), I'm not denouncing the dude but you guys act like he's already All Star material, it's cute.

Anyone who thinks the Lakers can't win it this year is insane. The West is quickly becoming a joke. Who's the best team? OKC? Portland? Portland is too young and inexperienced. Scott Brooks is the most overrated coach in the game today and OKC could easily implode in the playoffs or have another Chuckbrook meltdown. So who's left? The Spurs are on their last wheel. The Mavs don't give a shit. Memphis is hurt. The Clippers are a joke. Denver's way too inexperienced and inconsistent. All there is is OKC and maybe Dallas if they ever cure their hangover. The path to the Finals is LA's to lose. Now when they get to the Finals, who knows what can happen? Anything can happen in a 7-game series even if one team is better than the other.

What is this level you speak of? Most of Rubio the Horrible's assists are perimeter passes to love on the outside. He's almost never in the paint, driving and dishing it off. Rose is having a tremendous year for passing in comparison to last year.

Rubio has one of the best natural abilities to run a team and pass I've ever seen. Anyone who watched 2 games (any 2 games) this season can see this. There's a reason why everyone is talking about how good he is all over the league. You can watch him for one quarter and see his natural ability at running a team, it's Kidd/Nash/Deron/Paul like. And he can score relatively well too when he picks his spots.

Rose is the best player playing at the PG position, no one is debating this. But Rubio is absolutely for real.

Is he a joke account?

Rubio does look like a player, I didn't think he was NBA ready.

I'm glad I am wrong so far(heck, I thought Cam Newton would be a bust, see how that turned out).

If you are a Wolves' fan, it should be interesting to see how it pans out.

Many say Rubio is going to start any day now but he hasn't of yet and probably because of his shooting(though he doesn't seem bad).

I haven't seen enough games but Ridnhour can shoot and Rubio can pass but the Wolves need all the scoring they can get with that defense.

I guess a "good problem" to have.

I didn't want Caron Butler on the Bulls but he looked smooth as hell with the jumper when they played.

How's he playing so far overall???

He's shooting over five threes a game and making less than 30% of them. On the other hand, he's still shooting a decent overall percentage, so when he's not chucking threes he's making most of his shots.

oh for fucks sake great mighty shit is back

aint been seen since lebron crapped all over the bulls

guess them wounds finally closed up

Heavy is the best anti-Lakers-Age troll so far this year.

As soon as I read the first sentence of his post, I knew it was Heavy.

Also, I know you're not the one saying this, but i'll just leave this out here for the people that are.

We don't need to start rebuilding right now. A little historical context and perspective would help. 6 guys (Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Duncan) have won almost every single chip since 1980. From 1950-1970 - Russell, Wilt, and Mikan practically won every chip.

Dwight is not that type of guy. Anyone thinking he's a top 2 player in the league is absurd and stupid because Dwight is not a consistent enough force in the postseason and wasn't even the best player on his team most nights when they made the finals. Getting rid of Kobe to start the rebuilding process early is dumb, offensive, and useless.

I've never wanted either Dwight or CP3, and I still don't want Dwight or CP3. We can pick someone up in free agency, or draft them, we don't need to gut the team for a number 2 playoff option like Dwight.

Looks like he has some competition.

Yeah, every time he shot jumpers against the Bulls(mostly mid-to-longer range, not threes), I thought they were good.

I'm happy with Rip(when he plays) but Butler would have fit this team well, more than I thought.

11 shots, fantastic sample size.

He's so trusted as a shooter, he's getting a whole 1 three point attempt a game!

Come back after 30 or 40 games. You can improve a jumper, rose has done it. It's very unlikely to do it in your 7th season though.

Kidd did it in his late 30s, but I guess that's the exception that proves the rule. You usually need to show consistent improvement in your early career.

Hollinger on Kobe's resurgence:

Score one for German knee doctors. Kobe has his highest PER and highest scoring rate since 2005-06, a whopping 32.4 points per 40 minutes. The kicker is that his assist rate hasn't declined. He's quietly yanking more than six boards per 40 minutes, too. Although he isn't driving all the way to the rim as much, Bryant is getting to the line more through a brute-force post game (8.4 freebies a night). He's done all this even though he can't buy a 3-pointer (9-for-48) -- an area in which one suspects the numbers will even out over the next 56 games.

While we're on the topic of the Lakers, Andrew Bynum also warrants mentioning and would be on this list if he were not suspended for the first four games. Bynum is averaging 21.3 points and 17.4 boards per 40 minutes and leads the NBA in rebound rate. There's still room for improvement -- he has only four assists all season and is shooting 56.3 percent from the stripe. Even with those shortcomings, he may be headed to his first All-Star Game given the paucity of Western Conference centers.

Ignoring the defensive end completely? Even that would be a tough argument, but there is no way Nash is better than Cp3 in the context of the entire game.

The Suns were 39-36 with Nash last year (1-6 without him)

Not sure any other PG in the league could have gotten that team to a winning record. PG defense isn't super relevant with the new rules and Nash is a better off the dribble shooter and a more creative passer still.

well since we are playing a team with an active fanbase (sorry Samurai...you still my bro tho) we should have people here watching.

and in the stadium for once...lol
Bout to drop the ball so hard

I don't know what I can't stand to look at more, your avatar or your posts.

Stop. Just Stop.

Good job insulting someone and completely avoiding the points made in the post.

It was a legitimate post with good points. The West is weak. There is ONE team who might be trouble for LA and that's OKC. They could easily implode in the playoffs with Westbrook's streakiness, just like last year.

WHO ELSE IS THERE THAT CAN BEAT THEM IN THE WEST?

Portland: too young and inexperienced
Dallas: doesn't give a fuck
Memphis: hurt and just not good enough
Spurs: old and on their last wheel, Timmy's playing like 15 mins a game
Clippers: not a chance
Denver: too inexperienced, too streaky, not better than LA
Utah: really not worth mentioning

That leaves OKC and if you honestly think LA stands no chance vs. them you're insane. It would be a long series and could go either way.

So if they can beat OKC in the playoffs, they're basically in the Finals. How can you insult me for this? I can't stand how people just disregard my posts and just drop shitty condescending insults like that. Read what I just fuckin' wrote and tell me how it's ridiculous and stupid and what have you.

So let's say they somehow get past the incredible Thunder, they're in the Finals. And ANYTHING can happen in the Finals. Even if they've got to play the Heat, WHO KNOWS WHAT HAPPENS? It's one series. There's no guarantees. I'm tired of getting talked down to.
