Reading the 2010 offseason thread..

so much crow to eat over people have to eat over that Hayward pick.

seriously, we could have ended up with Luke Babbitt.

In a perfect world we could get Bledsoe and a 1st and then trade up to hopefully get Sullinger. I'm willing to trade everybody except LMA, Batum, Mathews, Williams, and Nolan Smith. We just need to get some good pieces back and then just be consistent with the lineup. It seems like every other game were changing people around.

Sullinger would be redundant with Aldridge on the team.

Dude's putting up Rudy Fernandez numbers. Nobody is eating crow over Gordon Hayward.

Haywood would probably be a lot better off if he weren't in Utah's "fuk yo rookies clown" system.

Since we're talking Portland...

Nicolas Batum in 9 games as the starting SG:
19.4 pts (48%, 40%, 86%), 5.2 rbds, 1.6 asts, 1.6 blks, 1.1 stls in 34 minutes.

All star numbers. Small sample, but still, he's 24.

He just turned 23. I want to see Batum put those numbers up for a whole season before we even begin talking All-Star.

Not really.

But he's been playing well despite having to play next to Felton.

The sad thing is, in a year's time that's all the numbers someone playing two-guard will need to put up to make it as a reserve. It's why Gondo was talking Harden as All-Star. There are no more elite shooting guards left.

That's also the case in the East. Look at Paul Pierce's or Joe Johnson's stats... Those are all star numbers for a wingman.

He's playing well but i'd like to see him become more of a closer. A lot of the times i'll see him score that (19pts) in the first half. Second half he'll play good D but stand around on the offensive end and not really actively try to get his.

And i think Sullinger with Lamarcus would be a pretty good tandem. Both have range but Sullinger plays a better inside game while Lamarcus plays a good pick and pop game and could develop a nice 3 shot easily

I think its really harsh to clown on Harden. If his Defense goes up another gear, he's really got enough tools to benefit and start on just about any team in the league.

TBH, he might even be a better fit next to LBJ than wade.

yeah, except Gordon Hayward is actually good.

Rudy Fernandez numbers > Luke Babbitt numbers.

That's an almighty bar that you set.

Hey guys, remember when Adam Morrison averaged 12PPG on a shitty field-goal percentage? Me neither.

BTW, Rudy this season: 9.3PPG, 45FG%, 32 3PT%

Hayward? 9.7PPG, 43FG%, 25 3PT% (Felton-esque!)

Well if you want to get technical you forgot the part about good defense and free throw shooting. Also the part about being a much better creator.

Oh yeah and comparing 21 year old to a 26 year old, lol.

Dude impressed the hell out of me in the Cavs game. I think he has some Gallinari in him.

A wonderful eff you to Shaq?

Three rings isn't enough?

What a terrible "fan" Konex is

He's an unapologetic Kobe apologist (hah!) and bad luck.

I have no idea how the Lakers won B2B with Konex rooting so hard for him.

Shows how great a player Kobe is to beat the Konex twice.

Amazing.

22ppg, 3.4rpg, 5.8apg, 1.4spg isn't enough :(

Am i crazy thinking boston might make it deep into the playoffs. Right now they are position at 7. But if they can move up one spot and the standings remain as is they'll face magic in the first round and the odds are pretty good at that. Then maybe heat in the second who hopefully will choke. lol. Obviously this is a deluded assesement but a man can dream lol.

No, they are Iverson-Pistons-Good right now.

You have minimum cap holds for up to 15 players. Also, each free agent is going to want to go in a S&T so they get max money. There's no way for Miami to give them all that. Plus it'd involve Lebron sharing the glory with Wade. And while a team with all three of those guys would be impressive, Wade and Lebron don't really complement each other as well as they could, and the fact that they'd be surrounded with minimum salary players means they wouldn't be invincible. Imagine the shame if that team somehow doesn't win a title at some point.

I think if I was Miami it'd actually be smarter to just try for Bosh than use the rest of the cap space on useful, complementary role platers.

Branduildamus, typos aside.

No rebounds. No rings. They have no chance at all. Zilch. 7-8 seed they are done in 5 games. Maybe get by a round with a better seed or if Gortat and Steve Nash fell in their lap at the same time.
