Our press is about 10 times of what VCU's is. There's press and then there's pressure. I saw VCU today and they hardly ever got back on defense once the press was beat, they're a one trick pony.

Future Cyclone and Michigan Mr Basketball Monte Morris just won his second straight state title.

He's gonna be a good one. Derrick Walton still should have been Mr Basketball though.

Man Man is gonna be great for us. He was supposedly sick with the flu, too.

Combine him with Wisconsin Mr. Basketball runner-up Matt Thomas and we have a pretty decent recruiting class coming in next year.

Seriously. Their defense reminds me of some old run and gun teams that don't actually play defense. They press, and if you beat their press, it's an easy basket. They never get back. I'm not sure why people thought they would beat Michigan, I wasn't buying that this year.

From what I understand Young and Walton basically split the Detroit vote and Morris got the rest of the state.

In one of the closest battles in the award’s history, Morris won with 2130 points. Walton and Young followed close behind with 2086 and 2030 respectively. Morris broke a streak of four consecutive Michigan State Spartan recruits that had won the award. In fact, Morris wasn’t recruited by either Michigan or Michigan State. The Western Michigan Broncos were the only team from the state to offer a scholarship to Morris.

The part about Morris not being recruited by UM is completely wrong though.

Morris and Walton were both offered on June 15th after their Sophomore year which is the first day Beilein will extend an offer to a recruit. Morris was a top priority. Walton just committed before he did. By the time ISU got involved Michigan had stopped recruiting Morris.
