I would stay away from any gt 900 cards especially that 940mx since there is a replacement on the way with Much better performance. I think overwatch could ran on the laptop on 720p but I wouldn't recommend it.
Well Steam really is an afterthought, I'm not trying to run Ultra High over here
Just what's in my Steam library, I think I have close to or over 300 games roughly, played 1
I just want to do those other things
If I can stream 1080p, I'm good!
It's really a media piece for the living room, my Mom is computer illiterate, makes me do all the things, like load up Facebook etc on our 65" Plasma (haha)
Then she scrolls to her hearts desire, also wants to watch movies from her Bollywood Box channel she has
So it would just be like 95% that, 5% blue moon on bloody Tuesday when the howls of a banshee could be heard that I'll ever play games on it
Most Steam games are on my PS4, those Humble Bundles fucking add up!
Take a look:

This laptop will be great for your purposes, especially if you're able to drop that extra HDD in there. The 940mx can run modern, well optimized games at medium - low settings usually, just don't expect any miracles. I have a very similarly specced Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga with a 940m, and I can play CS:GO, GTA5, Rocket League, and Overwatch, but the only reason to do it is if I'm away from home and don't have access to my consoles or gaming rig.
Another poster suggested waiting until new cards come out, and if you want something that will last you 3+ years it may be worth it to wait a little while. But if you're not planning on doing much gaming and need the laptop now, the rig you linked is solid and you likely won't find anything much better at that price point. Plus, if new low-end cards do come out, the rigs they are in will likely be around $700+ which might be out of your budget.
Cool, yeah I'm not really itching as stated above that I'll be gaming vigorously at all
Just back up
Have too much on my PS4 plate
Only thing I might ask is no reason to jump to the i7 for $50 extra?
Is it worth it
I know future proofing in laptops is lol, but if this can just be media consumption for 3+ years I'm good!
