Yep. It was heartbreaking last Olympics watching Jordyn Wieber break down after realizing that Gabby and Aly beat her out. I think she was like 4th or 5th or something after qualifying but was ineligible for the all around.

Number 2 men's table tennis player, Fan Zhengdong, is not in the games.
Number 3 women's table tennis player, Zhu Yuling, is not in the games. Number 1, Liu Shiwen, is only playing in the team competition.

They do this to keep a team from dominating a sport, but it's a stupid ass reason. Back when the games actually started, they did have Team A, Team B, etc
