That's Dressage. The whole point is to follow the pattern to a tee to prove that the rider controls the horse. It's also the worst part of the sport. Tomorrow they get to the good stuff.

watching the womens rugby stuff. i have not idea whats going on but some of these Australian players are dime pieces
basically looks like quicker and much higher scoring soccer, mechanically. The skill gap doesn't seem as variable though due to higher accuracy afforded by being able to throw the ball, as well as the smaller playing space.

yeah this is terrible. NBC presentation of the olympics is thoroughly disappointing every year
The goal line makes it annoying though. It's a game about getting the ball and have everybody agglutinated to the line, throw it, then the opponent have the ball and everybody goes to the other line. Once in a while a lucky rebound gives a team a surprise attack which is often successful because not everybody is already on the line.

it seems like pretty simple matter of crashing the line and tossing the ball to whichever side has a man advantage. so the defense has to react from a disadvantage, which more often than not causes an open shot. and the angle being poor doesn't seem to matter too much for a shooter on the wing, because the attacker can jump into the circle for a shot as long as he releases before he touches the ground.

So the Brazilian team in Women's handball drew a spot in group B with the defending champs Norway being placed in group A (who beat them four years ago). Since they are the hosting nation they have the ability to opt out of their group and get placed in the other if they like, which they did. Damn, that's some courage right there. :lol

It was hard to watch, but was just allowed back. It was a timing system malfunction apparently.
I wouldn't mind this race becoming anual with a slight few alterations. It's a great track.
