Not sure if this was posted already, but here is a link to a video of Annemiek van Vleuten's crash shot by a spectator - crash occurs around 1:40 min in. Just terrible to see her lying there, almost motionless. I teared up when I saw it happening live.

My first reaction at the person shooting the video was 'stop filming and help her', but given the severity of her injuries it's probably for the best he didn't do anything. Took a long time for medics to arrive though.

I'm pretty sure it's best to leave this kind of thing to the pros for sure.

Cycling strategy just seems fucked from watching there last two days

If you're on your lonesome you will get taken out by mercenaries lol

I wish the US could have pulled it off, but it was very exciting nonetheless.

But can someone who knows cycling explain how a 3 person group has the advantage over one person and can catch up so easily?

AIUI, cycling directly behind another person takes significantly less energy, since there's less air resistance. You'll notice those groups trade leaders periodically, sharing the tough role and giving the group more overall pace.

The three take turns drafting off each other which makes it easier. It's also psychologically easier to chase someone down ahead of you than to try and stay ahead of someone. Also, in this race the three chasing were considered stronger cyclists.

That guy in the mens weightlifting audience for Thailand with the rotating head celebration needs to be made into a Wrap it Up gif or something. He was amazing.

I'm happy for the Chinese kid getting the new combination weight World record. That was some crazy exertion!
