Fellow highly intelligent members of our exclusive forum, it is a new year and with every yea you want to set goals and write them down. Studies show people that write them down are more likely to complete them. I come to you now to give you the opportunity to write down your goals for the year and plan to make this year full of opportunities for growth, maturity and wisdom.

Personal Goals:
Lose another 50 lbs. Last year I lost 60, this year I would like to lose 50 more.
Read more books, Read a book on the Met, and more historical books about ancient civilizations

Family:
Lead well and grow spiritually as a family
Find a new church home
Spend more time with just my wife and I.

Beat Spidey 2
Get whatever new Nintendo Console that come out.
Play more RS games.

GAF's very own treasure goblin
This sounds really lame but yep yep staying sober.

It's not something I obsess about but every night I go to bed without being fucked up is a small victory 😁

I also have to stop buying new games and tackle my backlog.
I swear I have enough to last me 10 years.

Start really going deep into trading, stocks but more CFD shorts on leverage. Been fucking around it for way too long. Also, back to the gym proper, 5kg down by summer is the plan.
Also, as usual, staying sober.

- Raise my job rank in May, it is already a permanent position.

-Go to Japan in the subsequent holidays from June onwards.

-Get a high-value girlfriend, since there are no longer many women with family values, I have had girlfriends but they cheat or are indecisive.

- Settle my debt
- Finish nightmare heritage
- New living place
- Moving continents
- Ask my girl to marriage
- Lose weight
- New job
- Finish my 3 exams for my new job.

Pretty much the same for me with a few tweaks:

- Settle my debt (Yes Sir :)

- Moving continents (Most looking forward to this later in the year)

- Ask my girl to marriage (Did this yesterday lol. I'm officially engaged :) )

- Lose weight (Yes. New eating habits)

- New job (Changing countires so naturally this will be me too)

Keep my mistress and wife from meeting my escort.
Lose 3kg - prob get a circumcision for that.
Apply more mindfulness to things I want to complete.
Spend less time on mobile devices.
Spend a few more quiet escapes from everyone. Slacked a bit since covid on this.
Learn to run without leaving footprints.
Decide what to do with the garden, either refresh the decking or get a conservatory/extension

- Keep my diet and training regiment and NOT change it (it's going soooo well).

- Stop doing things I don't like just to not make others feel bad.

- Stop being occasionally depressed for no reason whatsoever.

- Find a girl with which I can start a family with.

That's about it.

Lose weight by eating fast food less and drinking less soda drinks. Gonna try and go for a walk everyday/do gym every other day.

Maybe go to the dentist for the first time in 10 years at least, dreading how much it's going to cost.

Stop wasting time on nonsense to spend more time on GAF.

Seriously though, I made an epic spreadsheet of how I will get myself completely out of debt this year while minimizing interest, paying all expenses and still having some cash in my pocket along the way - every month my disposable income increases. Already started all the refinancing trickery last month.

As you might imagine, the pain is stacked early. In order to execute this plan along with Christmas, I got forensic. So right now my resolution is to play free EGS titles and stay away from all instant-gratification trouble until my plan is realized.

It's also an opportunity to have some discipline and I don't think it will be that hard. I just hit that point where if I didn't act I'd get stuck in the interest trap and that's a no-no. When you do the math it's terrifying.

Once that's done I'll feel less boxed in and start investing.

Get anouther promotion
Increase my mortgage overpayment amounts

That's about it.
What is your loan interest rate. I would maybe recommend Investing what you would overpay instead. If you mortgage is low then you are getting money at a cheap rate and investing will return more value for the money than paying off the house.

I locked in for 10 years about 7 years ago. I can't remember the exact rate as I'm at work, but as with most things in the UK, it is much MUCH higher now once it unlocks. That means I need to reduce the total debt as much as possible in the time I have, its down to 70k from 180 last time I checked, but I want it paid off and gone or so low that it hardly matters.

Funny enough my plan is to just delete whatever is left with my bonds at the end, but I would prefer to just keep them.

That makes sense. I figured you were on a 30 year fixed or something.

Believe it or not in the UK 10 years is almost unheard of, people are shocked, max most people are allowed is 5.

It's one of the those small things which creates the huge fluctuation in house prices and makes the UK the worst in Europe for them (or best depending if your a speculative real estate investor)
