25% off all PC games at GMG! (Includes Pre-Orders)

Anoregon

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
(Didn't see this thread anywhere yet, if it already exists than sorry!)

This weekend only, www.greenmangaming.com has an infinite use coupon for 25% off any and all purchases. Here's the official snippet:

You look a little lost there, are you one of the many gamers hoping for a sale this season? We’re going to be rolling out something very special in the near future, so make sure to keep a close eye on us and check back frequently.

To kick things off we’re handing you a 25% voucher, which will get you 25% off the listed price for any product on our site, just use this code:
25OFF-ALLTH-EGAME*

You can use this as often as you’d like up until it expires. When does it expire? 1100 UTC July 9th 2012. 3 full days to get as many deals as you want!

This works on preorders as well, so you can get Darksiders II, Guild Wars 2, and other stuff on sale.

Traded in a free copy of Red Tide I had no intention of playing, didn't even know I had. Got it for 42$

Is Guild Wars 2 redeemable on Steam if I buy from here?

I don't know. Steam games generally say if they require Steam on the product pages, but GW2 does not. However, since I'm sure GW2 will come with a product key you have to enter to enable your account to log on, that key might work on Steam. That's just a guess, though.

Just to note two sales.

Both Sleeping Dogs and Hitman Abs are on sale, and this coupon does stack with current ones.

So Sleeping Dogs will be 30$ and Hitman Abs will be 33.75$

How do the downloads work? Do I have to install yet another client to get the games?

Yes and no, I think. I believe you technically need to launch games through their Capsule client to play them, but many of the games are delivered via product keys that you can choose to register on Steam instead. And for games with their own accounts, like Guild Wars 2, no third-party client should be necessary at all.

Yes, I believe they use a client called Capsule or something. I haven't actually used it myself. I've only ever bought steam games from there, where you just get the key from your library in your profile on the website and punch it into Steam.

Ya, and to reiterate what I said earlier, MMO-type games such as GW2 have the disclaimer "This title does not use Capsule. " on the product page. Any game that doesn't have that disclaimer or the one about about requiring steam probably requires capsule, though.

I just purchased GW2 and they sent me an e-mail saying I should go and register the serial code at guildwars2.com

Only problem is they didn't send me a serial code, and when I go to their site, the game doesn't show up in the list of games that have keys. Is this normal?

I haven't bought it yet so I have no idea. Maybe there is a delay?

I'm looking through the Slickdeals posts that I got the OP information from, and so far multiple people have mentioned buying GW2 but no one has mentioned missing keys. Hmm...

Edit: At 7th page of replies and now people are mentioning the issue. It seems like at a certain point GMG may have actually (temporarily) run out of keys:

GMG just replied to my email they ran out of keys.

They will initiate a refund to those people that ordered that didn't get a Key.

Well shit on me, I guess I won't be able to take advantage of this sale unless they get more before the sale ends.

Dammit! I shouldn't have waited...

edit: just checked the receipt, no key. :(

The fuck, I cancelled my Newegg Order for this. I don't mind waiting till they get more either....

Fuck this shit

At this point I'm just going to hope it's a very temporary issue that they are able to rectify before the sale ends. Who knows.

I didn't even know this kind of thing was actually a possible scenario these days.

I asked this in the DayZ thread but I think it's equally appropriate here:

If I buy ARMA II Operation Arrowhead from Greenman Gaming and download ARMA II free, will I have more headaches getting this up and running than I would if I just waited for ARMA II CO to go on sale from Steam or Amazon?

Also, anyone with experience dealing with the client, how is it? I'm afraid that it will complicate things.

I don't mind waiting, but if they refund it without asking. Never going to be buying from them again.

I totally agree that the situation is a bummer, but I don't really understand how issuing a refund as soon as they are aware that they cannot complete your order is more offensive than them holding your money until a currently unknown future date.

I opened this thread SUPER EXCITED to get 25% of Guild Wars 2.. then I saw GMG ran out of keys? WTF

Any chance they'll just get more keys? Should I still try to buy with the code in hopes to get the discounted rate and not a refund?

I would hope that getting more keys for digital distribution is a pretty quick and easy process for an online retailer, since it doesn't require the movement of any physical goods, but fucked if I actually know.

Lol, I still see it as #1 top seller but if you click on it it doesn't work.

What a drag. First thread I make on GAF and it ends up being soured by this poopitude.

Here's what a mod posted on the forums:

Yes - just to repeat what has already been posted - everyone having the same issue please file a Support ticket (via the "Submit a Request" option on the Support Page [greenmangaming.zendesk.com]) - they will be able to sort this out for You. :)

Just as a heads up - while the Support usually responds within the same working day they don't always work on weekends, so don't worry if it takes them a bit longer to get back to You (as it's Friday night over there now) - I'm sure You'll all receive your keys either way. :)

Hope he's right.
