So which lucky video vixens will be baring all in the issue? Jacqui, a cheerleader from Midway's Blitz: The League will be in her god-given under-armor. Carla Valenti from Atari's Indigo Prophecy, who plays a detective solving a rash of murders in New York City, will cleverly deduce that she's nude in the issue. Capcom's Darkwatch will feature two beauties, the arresting Cassidy, a blonde deputy in the Old West, and Tala, a vampiric femme fatale who also appeared in last year's pictorial when Darkwatch was still under the watch of Sammy Studios. Alexa, a reporter from VU Games' 50 Cent: Bulletproof, will, to quote 50, not only "party like it's her birthday," but party in her birthday suit.

That alone made the article worth it.

Pfft, did the first issue ever even come out? I remember the internet had it all, but I never saw it on stands or with a cover.

I don't get it. Is this just western hentai?

Basically. Countless hentai based on characters of every game imaginable, but when someone does it over here it's a "sad day for gaming".

...Says the dude with a pornstar in his avatar.

Well with a pornstar you get what you get, but with videogames you don't buy them expecting porn do you?

Though I did show this topic to Toups and he agreed with you. So maybe I'm looking at this whole thing all wrong.

kind of a second-rate talent selection. two more HIDEOS darkwatch characters? a representative from that 50 cent game i can't believe someone's making? i guess even videogame heroines have to be desperate before they'll pose for skin mags. well, if it gets people to buy indigo prophecy, then hey.

I wonder how much money would Playboy have to pay Square Enix to get some of their FF chicks nude. Knowing Square, they'd probably cost at least $1 million.

Or Konami (MGS). Or Namco (SC).

How's about some Alyx Vance? Mmmmmm.

Let's get some REAL virtual women in here!

I'm really curious about what some of you see in Alyx. Is it just because she looks 'realistic' compared to the more idealized female game characters out there? (And no, this isn't about her body, though her figure is a little understated for my tastes--it's about her face. As character designs go, she seems to fall into that 'decent-to-somewhat cute' range, but she's hardly what I'd call a knockout or anything.)

That might be part of it, actually. The not a knock-out bit, I mean. Kind of uncommon for a video game heroine. She's the girl-next-door, if the girl next door had a giant robo dog and a nuclear physicist for a dad.

Square put Aki Ross in a bikini and gave her out to a bunch of American men's magazines for free, just to try and increase the exposure for the Spirits Within.

Also, one of the movie's animators put up nudie photos of Aki (and a bunch of the men) on his website, after Square went and canned everyone's asses. :lol

Or "computer modellers" or whatever his title was, if that's what you're getting at.

If you're wanting more info, supposedly Square insisted that the characters in Spirits Within should be "as accurate as possible". Particularly Aki. So they were built in the nude. The clothing was applied seperately. Which is why it was easy for Square to produce that bikini pic.

While he was looking for work, one of the guys involved put pics of the base models in generic "standing" positions into his online resume. Some forums noticed this and wet themselves. IIRC Aki was anatomically-correct, while the men weren't. After he noticed the sudden attention, the guy pulled the pics from his site and put up cropped versions.

I don't know if I have any copies of the original pics. If I do still have them, I have almost no idea where. Very few people on the net even seem to remember that incedent anymore.

There's a much more common pic on the net of a nude Aki standing in the position she's in for the bikini pic, but that one is just a photoshop of the bikini pic.

AKI Nude pic can be found here. Beware, it's NSFW
