Yeah, that was always weird. We all know it maxes out at 60fpsI used to love it when people said the human eye can't see more than 30fps.

I know but it's what used to be posted on multiple websites when people discussed FPSYeah, that was always weird. We all know it maxes out at 60fps![]()
It's fine for turn based games, visual novels... And that's it.30 fps is fine
Interesting. I'm curious on how many people plays Quality mode VS performance mode. Normally i think performance is the best choice, at least most of the time.I play fh5 30fps on xsx as it looks just better in this mode ;d
This is the reason i got 3070. I cant stand 30fps no matter what happens. I made a promise to myself never again lol. I spent years on fx5200 then 8600gt. I remember finishing double agent on 15 fps. Same for nfs underground on onboard graphics.
I fried my motherboard by using old PSU cables with a new psu and the replacement mobo is defective as well, having to resort to my xbox one x and playing forza in 30 fps someone please hold me

If it makes you feel better the Unreal Engine Matrix tech demo runs at choppy 30 FPS on XSX and PS5. That's the future we all have in store for us.
Your POV is flawed because its based off a demo of game built using the Unreal Engine which has never been as fast as the frostbite game engine or ID Tech engine. Secondly, its just a demo and unreal engine 5 still has kinks to work out.

Some brains did not.I feel for you bro. There is no place in 2021 for 30fps slideshows. Gaming has evolved.
agreedControversial take:
60+ fps is better.
But consistent frametimes and proper framepacing with low input lag, even 30 fps is great, as long as it's a locked solid 30. This however doesn't apply to competitive shooters.
The 4090 due out next August will be three times as powerful as the 3090. Likely the 4060 will be at the 3090 level, so it won't be an issue assuming Nvidia doesn't skimp on vram again. All 18 people with 3090's gonna get 1440p/60 with this. Lucky!

SOON they will get 30fps games until they drop PRO version. Every generation this happens.Everything outside of Matrix tech demo runs at 60 fps on next gen consoles (PS5 / XSX) these days though, and Matrix tech demo isn't available on PC anyway.
Shit man, that sucks. Just tell yourself it's "cinematic". That's how most console kiddies cope!I fried my motherboard by using old PSU cables with a new psu and the replacement mobo is defective as well, having to resort to my xbox one x and playing forza in 30 fps someone please hold me

I remember idiots saying that about Virtua Fighter 2 back in the 90s. "Anymore than 30 is a gimmick, you can't see it anyway!". Mofo, I saw it. It was actually 60 fields per second, but it still made playing a fighting game at 30 fps unthinkable.I used to love it when people said the human eye can't see more than 30fps.
Then as soon as this gen was talking about 60 FPS gaming everyone loving 60FPS all of a sudden.

There was an article a few months back about it being 3x as powerful and using a multi chip or board deisgn. Are you taking the piss here? Surely thats not true, the biggest jump was 900 to the 10-series and it wasn't like the 1060 remotely matched the 980ti in terms of performance.
I mean, I hope so but sounds like Nvidia pre-release graph-bollocks.

For now, wait until all the cross gen nonsense is over with. I suspect we will go back to 30fps with higher graphical fidelity as proper next gen ges start releasing.
I can't wait let me tell ya hwat
The new standard on consoles is a 60 fps performance mode and a 30 fps quality mode in every game, with the occasional 120 fps mode in some games. I expect it'll stay that way in the years to come.
LMAOThis is mainly because of the extra processing leeway granted by crossgen games. Sure theres some full on next gen gsmes that have it but I expect (or hope) 60fps games die off and we can finally get some wicked looking proper next gen graphical goodness soon.![]()
Seriously. "Muh cinematic 30 fps" was never anything but pure cope for most people, but apparently some people really do prefer pretty slideshows to responsive gameplay.Being on a video game enthusiast forum and reading how people ask for 60fps in games to die off makes my head spin.
It is when there's a lot of turning or panning. It's really not bad, get over it.

Slideshow? That's some hyperbole. What part of this looks like slideshow ? Stable 30fps with good motion blur goes a long way (and yes, both these games have great motion blur)Seriously.
