Tenks, those Nudie's fit well. Could have sized down once more, but that's just me and how I would rock them. ;b

They're pretty tight around the waist. I have a pair of sz 27/32 Nudie SSK's and I can really only get in them because of the 3% stretch. Not a chance I could have gotten a 27/32 in these. I think they look slimmer in person they crumpled alot in that pic is seems.

Just saw this thread... where does 7 for all mankind rank? Aside from the button up fly... they're pretty comfortable for me.

i agree with true religion and lucky brand jeans... they feel awful and hug the cock & balls.... never buying another pair of those brands until they get it right.

Sevens are my everyday go-to jeans. They're really comfortable, and I get about 2-3 years of wear out of them before major shrinkage or tearing.

I, too, regret buying a pair of TR's. What the hell was I thinking?

not terrible, but way overpriced. if you pay more than $100 for those, you are getting ripped off, though they are on sale a ton.

button up flies are way better though. no chance of getting caught on accident.

Cool... i usually buy 7's on sale... last pair i bought went for 69.99 at Macy's... but usually i get them for like 100-150.

I like this thread... my closet is being overran with 7's... i could use some more variation.

My RR nudies arrived today and after an hour or so of checking they werent fakes Im well happy with them. I had to get a longer pair than I wanted (34 instead of 32 inch leg) but I dont mind the cuff look so its time to see how long I can keep the breaking in process going :)

Love my pair of 7's. Need to get the waist taken in though, they're 36 and I'm 34 now. Same w/ the Joe's I got as a gift a year ago - I wore the hell out of them for a good while and they still look great.

Agree w/ the pricing though. I wouldn't pay over $100 / pair.

Biggest surprise I've had recently was a couple pair of Lucky 181's I picked up. Was killing time at Nordstrom, they were on sale for $35 / pair. They were in my size, liked the fit, and they actually seem like decent quality jeans so far (I've had some other Lucky jeans before, and they were garbage).

very nice! i found those guys look 100 times better after a few months of wear. the way it drapes vs the way it is initially very blocky.

and the fit is spot on, but i'd personally hem it an inch - i don't stack/cuff but that's just me

Thanks. Yeah the selvage is still very stiff. No where near as bad as it was when I first got them but it's obviously still being worked in. I'm very happy with the fit and look.

Also I don't know when they added this stock but Saks is now carrying raw Dior Homme jeans. I may head over there to try on a pair. I've never worn a Dior and I'm interested to see how they'd fit.

Well, my slim fit levi's 30x32 came in today. Way too tight and and the length was too short.

Sigh. I don't know what to do. I tried the 32x34 and even wearing a belt, they still don't fit me. I really want to find something where the bottom of the pants aren't open. I have some straight loose that are 30x32 and they fit nice with a nice length, but they only look good with my boots. If I wear my pumas or K-Swiss, it just looks weird.

For the record, I'm about 6'1 with long legs. I'm skinny but muscular. Problem is, I have such a tiny waist.

Halp me :(

What are good brands of women's denim jeans for under 100? I'm thinking of getting the GF a pair and want to get her good stuff but dont know where to start.

I'm looking for a dark par of jeans and she doesn't like the jean to be skin tight below her knee. So nothing too skinny jean ish.

Thanks!

Yeah, I dunno about buying your GF jeans unless you take her in to try them on in person. If that's possible, you can try to see if they have Super Slim Kims (Nudies) on sale. They're like the Slim Jims, but with a lower rise, which a lot of girls seem to like. They're thin, but not that tappered at the bottom, so it still looks like a straight leg.

Actual waist size, weight, and maybe thigh measurements?

Well, this is the best picture I could find:

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l300/JackBau3r/untitled2.jpg

You can definately tell I have small waist from that pic. I'm about 160 pounds.

I just measured my thighs. Don't know how to measure them exactly, but I measured my upper thighs. It said 21 inches. They are muscular, though.

I actually measured my waist. I measured right above my hips and just below my belly button. Guess what? 32 inches. I don't understand it. I know that after I just ate and I'm about to leave, the slim fit 32 waist fit nicely. When I go to school and hours pass by without eating anything, my pants start to sag because I have an empty stomach.

I'm working on a pair of Samurai 5000vx. I got them from BiG with arcs and tabs about two months ago, and I've been wearing them nonstop. I'm getting a ton of creases, not much fading yet, but I'm surprised I'm even getting as much as I am (I sag a decent amount, but sized down 1 so they fit pretty normal and stretched out to not be od baggy).

I'll post pictures eventually, maybe after their first wash in April.

300 dollars seems like an awful lot for jeans. Though, I tend to measure things in the amount of video games/books they may be worth, and 300 buys me many hours of entertainment.

Jon Bones. What do you think about these jeans? I bought them from Nordstrom today. Well, my sister works there and she's going to buy them for me since she gets a discount:

http://www.ioffer.com/i/09-new-luxury-liner-black-Levi-s-Slim-Straight-Jeans--121663115

I like them. The material is weird, but in a good way. It's like sticky and feels like sandpaper or something. Not soft like most jeans. I'm sure you know what I'm about just by looking at the jeans.

EDIT-WTF? I know these jeans are slim straight 514s but I don't know the exact name of the jeans. The name is different from that site. Must be a euro name version. :lol

I've got a pair of Sugar Cane 1966 in size 29 for sale if anybody is interested. I realized that the fit just isn't for me. They're brand new and still have the tags on. I was gonna post this in the buy/sell/trade thread but I figured it would go ignored. Details on it here. Willing to let them go for about 180+shipping.

And to actually contribute to this thread, I hear that the next production run of samurais is going to be without the arcs and back pocket tags. Anybody hear about this? I rather liked the arcs on sammies and hope it's not a permanent change.

Yes I heard about it a while ago. I think Levi sued them.

Levi sued them. The news of the next run not having arcs and tabs came over the Summer. They've always been without arcs and tabs in the US (BiG), but for some reason my pair came with them, not that I'm complaining.

I got caught in a ton of rain today in NY, its brutal. Gotta let my jeans dry, they're pretty wet.

I have a pair of SSK's and even though they're listen as unisex I dunno. They're a 27/32 so the waist is a bit tight but you can totally see the outline of my dick when I wear them and the frontrise is so high it splits my balls. I really can't wear them unless I'm going for a certain look (they're heavily faded black ... my only pair of that color.) The front and back rises on the SSK's are way higher than my Slim Jims. Thigh seems way tighter as well. The Grim Tim is the jean that has the same dims as the Slim Jim to the knee then tapers skinny.

So yeah if you want a female pair of nudes go with either a High Kai, SSK or Tight Long John.

love the sheen on those and i wish all my clothes had a "hunting" print on the liner :lol

wish i could see them on someone who had them hemmed/worn at the hips so i'd get a better feel for the fit :/

Thought I'd pop into this thread and add my newest denim purchase.

Picked up a pair of the Nudie Thin Finn's, coated indigo. The place where I always go told me they just got those in and I honestly haven't seen them around before (only coated black).

Hope they fade in pretty sweet!

I'm interested in upgrading to some more expensive jeans (currently have a couple of pairs from the gap and bananna republic) but I'm really really picky about how they fit. Therefore buying them online without trying them on seems like a bad idea.

So, does anyone know of a good place in the greater Seattle area to actually try on some of these more expensive (think $100 - $200) jeans so I can get an idea of what fits and what doesn't?

I don't know what you mean by that. Buying expensive jeans just because they're expensive is pretty much just a waste of money. Did you have a certain brand in mind? What kind of fit do you prefer? Do you like skinny, slim, boot or relaxed? Generally people obsessed with denim like most of this thread doesn't get a massive boner everytime we see a $300 charge on our card from a pair of jeans but we do smile everytime we put them on. Saying I want 'expensive jeans' makes you sound like an LA valley girl with a sugar daddy.

With that said. Saks, Macy, Von Maur, Nordstrom all carry the more mainstream jeans in that range.

Hmm, I thought it was pretty self explanatory. I want to upgrade to some higher quality (pretty much goes hand in hand with price I would imagine) jeans. I guess the term "expensive" was not your cup of tea. I have no idea on brands, I generally prefer a more relaxed fit, i.e. I hate skinny jeans. I would prefer not to spend $300, as the check from my sugar daddy hasn't cleared yet.

I guess I could just go to Macys or Nordstrom's, I was just wondering if there was a better place (like a more specialized store) that anyone knew of in Seattle.

You are extremely incorrect with that assumption. In general with most 'premium denim' the cost is a direct correlation to quality of the wash not the denim. Extremely high quality denim that also has a beautiful wash (such as a pair of Lab Tim or Lab Ralf's from Nudie) will run you in the 450-600 range. 7FAM, R&R, Paige, Joe's, True Religion -- pretty much any mainstream 'premium denim' brand you are paying a huge cost for the prewash and finish. Generally high quality denim such as selvage or heavy non-selvage will come in a raw state where the jean is not washed. In this instance you need to wear the jeans for 6mo-1yr to get any kind of whiskering, combing or fading. For the most part most people don't want to wear the same pair of jeans for 1yr without washing them so the market for pre-washed 'premium denim' has come onto the scene with force.

Again, with all that jean elitism out of the way, 7FAM has some beautiful jeans that you'll probably like. Rock & Republic is based on taste because the pockets are heavily embellished and gaudy and they either come in bootcut, skinny or straight. Not relaxed. 7FAM (7 for all Mankind) does have a fit ('Relax') that has a relaxed front and back rise and come with the famous 7FAM washes. However, don't pay full price. Try them on there and find them cheaper online. They'll probably be 170-190 at the store but you can get them easily only for ~115. Joe's Jeans may also fit the bill for what you're looking for. I don't buy relaxed jeans since honestly I think you can goto Kohl's and get a pair of relaxed jeans with a decent wash for $45. I only spend more if I like the fit.

Ok thanks, that should help. As far as the relaxed fit goes, I just don't like the legs to be too tight, as I have big manly (cough) thighs, even though I wear a 31/32 waist. That's why I need to try on some higher quality jeans, with some different cuts/fits and figure out what works. The ultimate goal is to find a really nice pair of jeans that fit well, while breaking away from buying jeans at the gap, which has become my go to brand. If that means I spend $100+, im fine with that.

Also, is there any place to try on the kind of pre wash jeans you mentioned? I actually do like the sound of breaking in a pair of jeans like that over a period of time, but I think i would be too much of a pansy to order them online without trying them on.

Check out the 7FAM 'Bootcut' fit as well. The thigh is fairly large on them (which is why I don't wear any 7FAM other than Slimmy and Standard) but will also have a rise which will make it look like you have an actual ass instead of it just draping from your waist to the back of your knee. My Rock & Republic in 'Taylor' fit, however, have a very skinny thigh. Believe the 'Henlee' fit is more relaxed than the 'Taylor' with a lower back rise. The 'Taylor' is a nut hugger on me for sure.

I also believe 7FAM's 'A Pocket' fit (it has an 'A' on the pocket ... kinda it's more like 3 triangles instead of the trademark squiggle) is fairly loose as well.

Remember, though, that Saks/Nordstrom brands you are paying a price for fit and wash. If you want these jeans to last for years then I'd have to suggest a pair of selvage jeans but if you're like me a few years ago where you just want to wear them for a while and look good while they last then it'll fit the bill.

I will check those out, I'm guessing it's going to be hard to find a place that sells pre wash selvage jeans, so I guess i need to figure out exactly what size/cut I prefer and just order them online. I do want to get a pair of each probably though, something to work on and something I can just wear right away.

Finding a decent pair of jeans is fairly easy if you know your measurements. Luckily mine haven't changed much since my modeling days so I can know for the most part what I like and what will look good on me. If you actually want a pair of selvage jeans but are nervous about the fit some retailers will put the full dimensions up online.

ContextClothing.com is great for getting fit pictures and dimensions (though I find them overpriced in most instances.) For example here are the jeans I bought in their full dimensions (the pictures of me wearing them are on the last page I think)

http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=3

So if you know what you like your rise to be (I like between 9-9.5) know your thigh measurements (I knew these would be a tad loose) and your preferred leg opening (these are perfect) and your true waist size you can buy with a decent amount of confidence.

What the fuck are you supposed to wear a denim jacket with? shorts?

oh & :lol at $500 jeans at that store. He was asked twice on why they are so expensive over some $30 Levi's & twice he just danced around that question other than saying it's hand made.

I've got two months and they didn't get that bad, they dried in under an hour. I had a little mud stain on the side of the leg and on the back pocket some how so I just wiped it off with a lysol wipe and brushed lightly with a toothbrush. Looks fine. Hopefully none of this will affect fading, I doubt it.
